It was obvious Jayson had expected to get that request from Ariel.
He waited silently to let Ariel finish. Then, Jayson said slowly, “You can request anything else except for that.”
A mocking smile tugged at the corners of Ariel’s lips. “That’s the only thing I want.”
They lapsed into an uncomfortable silence. Even though they were speaking on the phone, Ariel could still sense tension in the air.
“I don’t have the painting in my possession. I can tell you pretty frankly that the Stantons don’t have the painting either. The painting doesn’t belong to me. It’s not up to me to decide whether you can have it or not,” Jayson said in a monotonous voice.
He made it very clear he couldn’t help Ariel with that.
Ariel furrowed her brows.
When Nancy was trying to beat her to secure the painting, she clearly mentioned that she wanted to purchase the painting and give it to Sarah as a gift.
How come the painting was not in their possession? Did they already sell it to someone else?
Ariel knew Jayson very well. While he could be a bit cold–hearted at times, Jayson was not someone who would lie about these things.
If he or the Stantons had the painting, Jayson would just decline Ariel’s request with a firm refusal.
Upon hearing an unexpected answer from him, Ariel did not hold back as she made a sharp retort. “Even if you guys had the painting, you’d do everything in your power to defend the Stantons.”
Jayson said nothing in response. Ariel was not expecting to get a response from him either.
Jayson said nonchalantly, “I can’t help you with that right now. At the same time, you know very well what it means for you and Faye Tech if you can own Nexura Solutions. You can’t possibly decline an offer like that.
“If you want to help Faye Tech grow and expand, you’ll have to improve your facilities and infrastructure as quickly as possible. A wise person would utilise the available options and resources to maximise their own value. In that case, you should be choosing what’s best for your interest.”
Ariel really had no idea what was going through Jayson’s head sometimes.
Frowning, she fell silent. Ariel was considering how she should proceed with this.
It was true she didn’t have that much time. Ariel needed to seize any opportunity she could get. Nexura Solutions was an excellent opportunity.
As for the painting, Ariel had an inkling that something like this might happen,
Even if she had managed to secure it, Jayson would prevent Ariel from doing anything with the painting by any means necessary if he was determined to protect Sarah. Jayson would not allow Ariel to tarnish Nancy’s clean, perfect image.
Since the painting wasn’t with Sarah, Ariel decided she could start searching for it now and figure out how to get her hands on it later on.
In a way, she felt that it was a good thing that neither Sarah nor Jayson had the painting. It would probably be easier for Ariel to acquire the painting without these people getting in her way.

As for the painting, Ariel knew that Jayson would not help her with it, even if he had it with him.
Additionally, there was no reason for Jayson to refuse to let Nancy make an official apology now.
For a moment, Ariel was lost in thought. Jayson hadn’t said anything either. He seemed to be waiting silently for Ariel to continue
Ariel was about to hang up since she could not be bothered to bring their conversation to a close.
Right before she pressed the button to end their call, Ariel Heard him saying “Come to Bluum Tower next Tuesday. You need to attend the shareholders‘ meeting.”
Ariel paused for a split second.
She heard the disconnect tone the next instant since Jayson had hung up.
Ariel frowned and stared at the screen. She could not help wondering if Jayson was actually able to see her through
the phone screen.
They were probably having the shareholders‘ meeting to settle the matter regarding the transfer of Nexura Solutions‘ ownership. It was a necessary procedure.
As for why Jayson had decided to give Ariel Nexura Solutions‘ full ownership without demanding anything in return, it was probably to appease her and Faye Tech.
Frankly, Jayson could resort to more forceful methods to get Nancy out of trouble. However, he was probably worried that it might agitate Ariel further to the point where she might go all out to bring Nancy down.
If that were to happen, it would only make things worse, especially with how Nancy’s reputation was in tatters recently.
Ariel made detailed plans relating to the transfer of Nexura Solutions‘ ownership. Also, she would decide regarding dropping charges once they had confirmed the details of the relevant procedures.
She saw the official apology the next day.
What the Veyo Solutions team and Nancy had done wrong during the incident was described clearly in their official statement.
Ariel had no idea how Jayson had managed to coax Nancy into doing this. Anyhow, she had gotten what she wanted. She was not going to waste more time and energy on the matter.
Ariel had been extremely busy. Additionally, her doctor had also been urging her to go for her second chemotherapy session as soon as possible.
Ariel knew she shouldn’t put it off any longer. If it weren’t for what happened with Veyo Solutions recently, she would have been able to get enough rest and go for the chemotherapy session a long time ago.
