Chapter 401
Lucas wasn’t exactly sure what he was expecting to hear from Ariel by coming here today. Perhaps he just came to check on Ariel after learning that her and Faye Technologies‘ problems had been completely resolved.
Or he might have come to…
“It seems I’ve underestimated your problem–solving skills and abilities.” Lucas gave her a hard look.
He flicked the ashes off his cigarette and continued, “I actually called Jayson when the incident had just occurred, and Nancy declared she would pursue legal actions against you. I figured a simple word from him should be enough to calm Nancy down and make her give up on suing you since she was Jayson’s woman after all.”
From his perspective, Jayson was actually fully capable of preventing the situation from escalating further. However…
“Did you know how he responded to me?” Lucas snickered. He gazed at Ariel intently as if he was trying to discern the raw emotions hidden underneath her seemingly cold, impassive appearance.
A slight frown creased Ariel’s forehead. She showed no interest in knowing the answer.
Yet, Lucas didn’t allow her the chance to stop him. He sneered. “He said that’s your problem. You can handle it on your own. There’s no need for him to interfere with this issue.”
In other words, Jayson was practically saying Ariel’s problems were none of his business. He did not seem to bother showing how cold and indifferent he was.
Ariel was not surprised at all.
She knew very well why Lucas was saying these things to her. She didn’t need someone else to remind her how callous and unkind Jayson was to her.
With a frigid look on her face, Ariel ignored Lucas and walked past him.
Lucas stubbed out the cigarette. His eyes hardened as he stared at Ariel’s back. “If you divorce him now, I’ll call off the wedding and pretend that none of this has ever happened. Ariel, we can still start over again.”
As long as Ariel promised to divorce Jayson and come back to him, Lucas could forget about everything that had happened in the past.
However, Ariel walked away without sparing him another glance. She acted as if what Lucas just said had nothing to do with her.
Lucas‘ chest heaved as he stared hard at Ariel’s receding figure. He felt as though a knife was driven into his heart.
Lucas decided he would slowly talk some sense into Ariel.
Ariel went up to her floor. She sat in her chair and rested for a brief moment. It did not concern her whether Lucas had left or not.
Instead, she reviewed the documents that Cassidy had brought back to their office regarding Nexura Solutions‘ termination of their contracts with Veyo Solutions.
Veyo Solutions‘ new system blatantly violated Faye Technologies‘ patent because Nancy didn’t notice her subordinates‘ misconduct. Naturally, Nancy should bear the consequences for not being careful enough.
Nancy was most likely under a lot of pressure since she had to pay each of her former partners an indemnity for a

breach of contract. She was probably planning to use the payment she would be getting from Nexura Solutions to cover those expenses first.
Unfortunately, due to the forced contract termination with Nexura Solutions, Nancy not only missed out on the money but also lost the valuable opportunity for future partnership.
With most of their projects with other companies terminated, Veyo Solutions‘ business and revenue would be greatly affected. Their business would gradually move into deficit.
Nexura Solutions was Ariel’s now. There was no way she would let Nancy continue to enjoy the special treatment that was made available to her in the past.
As for Jayson, he had only asked Ariel to drop the charges. He never said Ariel was not allowed to terminate the contract between Nexura Solutions and Veyo Solutions after she became Nexura Solutions‘ owner.
Sarah had also found out about what happened with Nexura Solutions.
They were hit by numerous crises, one after another.
In the end, Ariel had not met her downfall. She even managed to acquire Nexura Solutions, a flourishing and successful business.
On the other hand, while Jayson had managed to prevent Nancy from being sent to prison, she had to deal with the numerous repercussions that followed afterward.
Just the thought of that was enough to make Sarah feel agitated.
“Your company’s funds are running low at the moment, right? What right does Ariel have to refuse to transfer Nexura Solutions‘ payment to us?” Sarah was so exasperated that her face turned pale.
Nancy hadn’t been in her best form for the last couple of days. She had to take care of so many things. Before she could take a moment to catch her breath, Nexura Solutions decision to terminate its contract gave her another
critical blow.
Veyo Solutions was facing a financial crisis.
Since the Stantons had invested their money in this company, they had to settle the issues and overcome this crisis no matter what.
Despite knowing that, Sarah felt extremely irked and frustrated. Her heart ached terribly.
“I still have enough money to help cover certain expenditures. You shouldn’t trouble Jayson with this issue anymore. He might not think it’s a big deal. However, the Larkins might think you did a poor job managing the company and find you lacking if they were to learn about this.”
Sarah knew that taking a hit sometimes was fine if it served the bigger picture.
Nancy understood what Sarah was trying to tell her. “It’s alright. We’ll be executing some projects soon. The money will come in around the time we’re receiving the dividends.”
