Chapter 482
However, Sarah wasn’t stupid. She began adding her own flair after milking enough from her
stolen success.
So her early works were key.
If the missing half of Elena’s graduation project were ever found and paired with the series piece, Sarah’s career as an artist would go up in smoke.
That afternoon, Ariel returned to the office after calming Katie.
Janice had heard about the invitation Sarah sent to Ariel’s family. She cursed under her breath before asking, “So? Are you going?”
Ariel had cooled down by then. “Yeah. I skipped the last one. I guess I should show her some ‘ courtesy this time.”
She had made up her mind to stop holding back.
Coincidentally, her presentation of her research paper at Ashford University had earned her some recognition in academic circles.
Students from Ashford University in the same field had started to keep a close eye on her.
Ariel figured that she could just make a scene at the exhibition.
With all the attention she was getting in academia, and students watching her every move, exposing Sarah’s fake persona publicly might just catch the art world’s attention. People would start asking questions and digging deeper.
And once that happened, Sarah’s carefully curated image might just fall apart.
The only reason Sarah had gotten away with it for so long was because she had been overseas. Now that she was back, if the truth came out, the art world would start verifying the facts, given Halread University’s involvement.
But of course, things could get messy. After all, Ariel didn’t have solid proof yet.
She was gambling.
But even if it was a gamble, she wasn’t going to let sarah pull off a flawless, high–profile exhibition. Not when it could cement her position as a major player in the local art scene.
Janice knew what Ariel was thinking. She nodded and said, “Don’t worry. I’ll go with you. Let me do the yelling. Don’t ruin your image because of these people.”
She couldn’t stand the thought of Ariel being talked about behind her back.
Ariel knew Janice was just looking out for her. She inched her cheek and said, “Don’t worry. I
know what I’m doing.”

That night, Ariel received a text from Samson.
“I heard Nancy’s holding an art exhibition in Cecilia’s art museum. If you don’t like that, I can get her team kicked out right now.
“I don’t know why Cecilia agreed to rent it out to them, but please don’t get the wrong idea.”
Ariel was stunned for a second. She hadn’t expected Samson to explain himself.
She simply replied, “Thank you, but there’s no need for that.”
Ariel had been preparing for the past few days.
She had to gather the kind of little details that might raise eyebrows, just in case she needed to act.
She wasn’t walking into this fight blind.
During the day of the exhibition, Ariel and Janice arrived together.
Chad had just returned from a nearby city and would join them later.
Sarah’s exhibition had drawn a decent crowd, thanks to the hype around her donating all prior sale proceeds to charity. That, paired with her international reputation, meant the turnout was impressive.
Her exhibition today was way more upscale than the last one as well.
“If this show actually goes off without a hitch, she’ll be rolling in cash,” Janice muttered in disgust.
Sarah would be getting rich off the Walkers‘ suffering.
Ariel understood now why Sarah had poured so much energy into this exhibition.
“Let’s go in first,” Ariel said calmly. This issue had to be resolved, so she needed to stay composed.
Just as she reached the entrance and handed over the invitation, a shadow suddenly loomed behind her. She instinctively frowned and turned around, only to see Jayson standing there.
He lowered his gaze and met her eyes.
Then came a voice from nearby, “Jayson, you’re finally here.”
Nancy stepped out from the exhibition hall and headed straight for him, completely ignoring Ariel. Then, she looped her arm around his like it was the most natural thing in the world.
With a raised brow, she looked at Ariel, contempt briefly flashing in her gaze.
