Chapter 95
Jayson spoke in a business–like tone.
Ariel’s gaze wavered slightly.
She was very uptight. Because of the radiation therapy she just had, she felt lightheaded. She had to secretly hold onto the nursing counter to stop herself from falling.
Ariel took in a deep breath. “There are many better rooms they can choose from, yet they specifically want my uncle’s room. What are they after?”
Jayson gazed at her calmly. “It’s important for the patient to stay in a good mood. I can arrange for your uncle to have the best room and pay the full year’s fee upfront.”
Not even bothering to elaborate further, he went straight to business.
He’d really go to great lengths just to make Sarah happy.
Ever since Leonard fell ill, Jayson had never helped out even a little, let alone pay for anything. Yet now he agreed to pay the VIP room fee for Leonard for the entire year, which amounted to millions of dollars, just for Nancy and her family.
Ariel had once thought of relocating Leonard to a better room, but she couldn’t afford it. Even though she was Jayson’s wife, she couldn’t use the benefits that came with this identity. So, she put off the thought again and again.
Seeing that Jayson was serious about this, she calmed down. “Does this mean you’re asking a favor from me?”
Jayson raised an eyebrow. He immediately understood. “What do you want in return?”
“It’s your responsibility to pay the VIP room fee, so it’s not part of the deal. What do I want in return, you ask? I want a favor from you, one I can call in whenever I need it. Deal?” Ariel spoke softly.
She wasn’t confident that it would work. She knew that right now, Jayson was still willing to negotiate amicably. If she continued to refuse the offer, he could go straight to the hospital director. When that happened, Leonard might be forced to evacuate that room.
The art gallery incident had already left a bad taste in his mouth. His precious Nancy had felt “wronged“.
This time, Jayson might not go easy on her. She might as well ask for some sort of guarantee in return.
Ariel wasn’t hoping to gain anything from him. It was just that since Sarah returned to the country, she had deliberately gone up against the Walker family time and again. Ariel suspected that further problems would arise later on.
So, she decided to ask for a favor. After all, Jayson’s promise carried a lot of weight.
However, she wasn’t confident that Jayson would accept her conditions and requests. He didn’t have feelings for her anyway, so why would he tolerate her unreasonable demands?
At that thought, Ariel bit her lower lip. Upon meeting Jayson’s gaze, she realized he was staring at her thoughtfully.
Jayson stared at Ariel’s pale complexion, and they looked at each other for a long time.

Upon noticing Ariel’s reddened eyes, he suddenly gave in. “Alright, as you wish.”
Ariel stared into his cold, striking eyes in surprise. She was momentarily stunned, not expecting it to work out so well.
Seemingly unaware of the look of surprise on her face, Jayson asked, “Do you have any other requests?”
Ariel came back to her senses. She said calmly, “I hope you won’t disrupt my uncle’s peace.”
It was obvious that she meant that Jayson and Nancy shouldn’t go overboard and be all lovey–dovey in Leonard’s presence. If they tore down the façade, it would benefit no one.
Jayson studied her solemn expression, and a bitter look crossed his eyes.
His thin lips seemed to curl into a half smile that hinted at mockery. Without saying anything, he turned and returned to Sarah’s room.
Ariel let out a sigh of relief and stopped thinking about them. She then went to Leonard’s room.
Jayson settled everything efficiently. The nurse informed Ariel that they had arranged a room on the 12th floor that would get plenty of sunlight.
Ariel helped Leonard gather his belongings and moved up to the room.
Leonard was puzzled. “Why are we relocating to another room all of a sudden?”
Ariel gave an excuse. “I received a hefty bonus, so I can now get you a better room.”
Leonard was doubtful for a moment, but seeing the natural look on her face, he didn’t ask any further.
Now, Leonard was staying on the 12th floor, whereas Sarah was on the second. The floor layouts were complicated here, so there was little possibility that they would meet each other.
As long as Jayson stayed away, nothing would happen.
