By the time they reached Waston, it was already evening. The car stopped in front of the presidential palace, where many branches of the trees had been trimmed. The asphalt was very dark, and raindrops splashed underfoot when walking on it.
The guard at the entrance came forward and removed all electronic devices and firearms from Ophelia and Caleb, just like last time.
Although Xander allowed Ophelia to bring someone with her, with the security level at the presidential palace, if anyone really wanted to harm her, she wouldn’t have any way to resist.
“Ms. Spencer, this way please.” The butler led them to the back of the palace.
The overall style here made it look like a traditional scholar’s residence.
However, the inside gave off a completely different vibe.
The walls were over ten feet high without windows, surrounded by gray and white soundproof walls. It looked a bit like an interrogation room, but more spacious. It was more like a large parlor.
The sky outside had already darkened, but the lights inside were glaringly bright, making it feel like daytone. They cast a stark white glow over the walls that made people a bit dizzy.
“Please wait a moment, Ms. Spencer,” the butler said politely before he stepped out.
Ophelia could clearly feel that the butler’s attitude toward her was very different from last time.
The door was closed, followed by a “click” as the lock snapped into place.
Then Ophelia turned her head and saw a wire drop outside the door.
“What does this mean?” Caleb frowned and strode forward. His usually loud voice was suddenly almost inaudible in the
room.
“What do you mean by this?! Are you keeping us here? Somebody! Let us out!” Caleb yelled toward the door.
But there was no response from outside, not even a sound of footsteps.
“Mrs. Sinclair…” Caleb turned to look at Ophelia anxiously and frowned.
He thought, ‘Were we set up? I didn’t expect Mr. West to trick us here like this.’
Yet Ophelia remained calm as ever. She sat on the white leather sofa, looked at the cold coffee in front of her, picked it up, and smelt it.
Suddenly, she looked up at the white camera in the upper right corner of the room sharply.
A sneer appeared on her beautiful face.
She had already expected the worst outcome before she came here.
-As the president of Heloria, Xander definitely had to give the whole country an explanation.
And what would that explanation be?
Naturally, it would be the one who “unlawfully” developed the slums and released the virus.
She had Mark issue a statement to clarify the situation to protect Sinclair Group.

So now, everyone outside naturally knew that it was her insistence on developing the slums that led to this outcome.
Some might even exaggerate it, portraying her development of the slums as a conspiracy, a deliberate revenge plot against Heloria’s people.
She held her forehead and closed her eyes. The lights here glaring off the faded gray walls were truly harsh, making her feel a bit nauseous.
She picked up the cup of cold coffee and took a sip.
Caleb paced back and forth, trying to find an exit.
“Don’t waste your time. Take a break.” Ophelia glanced at the surveillance camera again.
When she looked up, Xander, who was sitting in front of the computer, was momentarily surprised.

Her gaze clearly indicated she knew he was watching her.
Xander thought, ‘She’s really something. I’ll lock her up for a night first.
All their equipment had been taken away. Without anything to measure time, they had no idea how long it had been.
In the silence, even the sound of their own breathing and heartbeats became quite clear.
Being in such an environment was extremely mentally exhausting.
Caleb’s forehead was already covered in sweat.
He thought, ‘How much longer do we have to stay here?!‘
Meanwhile, at the Carnegie Villa in Dellanex. “What?” Theo was having dinner when Gerald came to table and stood up.
It was the weekend, so Clara and Finlay had both returned for dinner.

Finlay looked at Theo in the main seat and wanted to say something, but was stopped by a glance from Clara.

When the Wright family vanished, everyone was aware of what happened to those people.
If Ophelia was sentenced like the Wright family was, she would surely be dead.
Clara said, “Dad, where has Kenneth been all this time? If he were here, then…”

“Humph. You actually picked up my call,” Theo’s voice was deep and strong, and he spoke before the person on the other end could respond, “Elia is my god–granddaughter. You’d better release her immediately! If anything happens to her, I will.”
Theo tightened his grip on the phone.
He said, “If you dare harm her, I’ll beat you up, you unfilial bastard!”
