Chapter 100
Shawna’s witness statement had me fuming mad. She had been assaulted multiple times, by Jacob and by another wolf whose name she could not remember. She was offered her freedom if she agreed to kill Alpha Garrett. She stated she would rather die herself than do that. In fact, she thought she was going to die in that tunnel. They had taken her innocence, injected her with wolfsbane, starved her, and beat her. She stated during her interview with the council that she had seen Wyatt come into the tunnel twice. The first time, they offered her to him, but she said he told them he wasn’t going to screw some drugged up wolf, when he had his beautiful mate waiting at home. During that visit, he had beat Robert, but he was so out of it from the wolfsbane, he barely moaned. The last time, was when he came to have the boy Alek cross onto our territory. She remembered him laughing hysterically as they exited the tunnel. She stated she was probably one of the more lucid ones there, because she was trying to keep track of time and was trying to talk to the other captives. They also liked to keep her semi–conscious, because they seemed to enjoy when she tried to fight back during their assaults.
It appeared that her tearful story had finally hit a nerve with the Councilmen. You could visibly see their anger and disgust. It was after her statement that Councilman B actually had any ounce of emotion on his face, banging his fist on the table in anger.
The witnesses were excused one by one, then the Council turned to myself and Alpha Garrett. “What is it you are asking of the council in this situation?“, asked Councilman A.
I cleared my throat and stood to address them. “If you would please hear us out, I believe that Wyatt from the Portland Pack should either be executed or imprisoned for life. He has tormented one of my pack members now for months. He has placed one of his own pack members in captivity and beaten him. If we had not discovered them, Robert would have died, and the punishment for that is death. Alpha Garrett is asking for an intervention with the Godsend Pack. He would like the title of Alpha to be removed from Alpha Chris, and if the council pleases, we request execution of Alpha Chris, his warrior Jacob, and any others who were directly involved in the torture and assault on Shawna and the other wolves. We would ask that a full investigation occur regarding the use of the silver and wolfsbane darts and that measures be taken to remove these from that pack and that all involved in the use of them, procurement of and assembly of these weapons and products, be punished as well. Our laws strictly state that use of these is prohibited with punishment up to and including death. We seek the harshest punishment that the council will allow.” I sat back down.
“Alpha Garrett, do you have anything to add?“, Councilman G was asking. Alpha Garrett shook his head no and replied, “I am in agreement with Alpha–Gabe.”
Councilman F, who had barely said much through the entire proceedings, taking notes on every statement made, stood before us. “Gentlemen, we will dismiss you at this time. The Council needs to discuss everything we have heard today. We require that the accused have an opportunity to speak, therefore we will travel with our security team tomorrow, to the Godsend Pack. We will place them in custody at that time, to prevent anyone from running. Is there a suitable dungeon or prison that will hold them?“.
“Yes there is. We have a dungeon on the grounds, the entrance is under the back side of the main pack house. It is very secure and we have the best technology. No one can enter or exit without myself of my Beta present. It is retina identification.” I assured them.
*Excellent. We will discuss what we need to and then retire to our rooms. Please have breakfast for us early in the morning so we can plan for the day.” He gave the signal for us to rise and leave. Garrett and I gave each other a look and exited the meeting hall. I let out a deep sigh as we made our way back to the dining hall.
“Let’s hope this goes as planned,” I told him.
“Yes indeed. It needs to, or this will be a full out war between multiple packs. We know it will be a blood bath, but it will be one that we will win. I hate the thought of it coming to that, but we are ready to end this,” he looked at me with determination in his eyes.
Clapping him on the back as we entered the dining hall, I agree my friend.” Now we would have to see what tomorrow would bring.
