Chapter 54

We were met at the border entry by the Godsend Pack’s patrol. They allowed us through, but as our trucks made their way down the long dirt road, we could see wolves flanking our trucks in the woods. Not very stealthy, that’s for sure.
The Alpha was standing on the steps of the pack house when we pulled up. He was flanked on both sides by wolves. His Beta, a huge hulking man with tattoos all over every inch of his arms that you could see, walked up to Alpha Gabe and introduced himself and then made sure that he knew who Alpha Chris was. Of course he knew, they see each other several times during the year.
We followed them into the pack house, six Godsend wolves never far behind us. When we entered Alpha Chris’s office, the Beta turned and told them all to go wait outside, then he shut the door. Sitting here in the Alpha’s office, it was just myself, Alpha Gabe and Dawson. Alpha Chris had only himself and his Beta. “Let’s get down to business, shall we?” Chris lowered himself into his chair behind the desk and motioned for us all to take a seat. I noticed his Beta remained standing near the door, so I decided that maybe I should do the same. It’s a good idea not to have our backs turned. Dawson and Alpha Gabe sat in a couple chairs, waiting to see if Chris said anything more.
“So I sent two warriors to retrieve Bonnie. She’s currently sitting in a cell in my dungeon. I haven’t told her anything, nor have we asked her anything. She does seem petrified and I was told she tried to run when she saw them walking towards her. She didn’t get far, as you can imagine.” Everyone nodded.
Chris leaned back, “Her mate now, I am not sure I want to be pressuring him until we hear what Bonnie has to say. He’s a respected warrior here, I’m not inclined to raise question about his credibility,” Dawson huffed, and Chris held up his index finger, “Yet.*
Alpha Gabe pulled a photo from his pocket. It was the still photo zoomed in enough to make out the tattoo on the back of one of the suspects arm. He passed it to Chris, who raised an eyebrow before picking it up off his desk to inspect it. “Interesting.” He was rubbing his chin with one
hand.
“Do you know who that is?” Gabe asked. Chris shot a glance at his Beta, who then walked over and looked at the photo as well. They shared a look which told us they knew exactly who that was. Chris never answered the question, instead he put the photo in the top drawer of his desk and stood up.
“Let’s go see Bonnie,” and he motioned for everyone to stand and follow the Beta out the door.
We made our way to the dungeon, leaving Dawson at the door, just in case he needed to notify our warriors that we need assistance. We reached Bonnie’s cell, to find her pacing back and forth, tears rolling down her face. As soon as she saw us, she ran to the door, grabbing the bars. “Oh thank goodness. Alpha Gabe you’re here to take me home, right? Can you believe they put me in a jail cell?! I haven’t done anything,” her last sentence was choked out. She looked back and forth between the four us and took a step back from the door, as if she had just figured out that she was truly in trouble.
Initially we gave Bonnie the opportunity to come clean on her own. She continued to deny everything, feigning innocence. She even claimed she didn’t know who Ashlynn was. When Gabe asked Chris if she came back the night of the full moon run, and he said she did, and that she went straight to the pack doctor. She had told Chris that some random she–wolf attacked her, but nothing more. Chris proceeds to tell us that he had already questioned her soon to be mate, and he stated she told him that Dawson had clawed her. The reason, he was trying to pursue her and she refused him. They struggled, as he tried to force himself on her, and when she wiggled free, he scratched her. Alpha Gabe had
f they enough at that point. He compelled Bonnie to tell the truth, using his Alpha aura, which is painful to the person being subjected to f lie, it gets worse.
Bonnie revealed the truth, that she had been pursuing Dawson. She told of her intent to try and scare off Ashlynn and win over Dawson. When asked why, her reason was that he had more money and if she was with him, she wouldn’t have to work. She was compelled to state who was involved in letting the horses lose. She was the female that had been scented and was on the video. She admitted her soon to be mate was the one who snuck into Dawson’s apartment. She said she didn’t know the name of the other guy, he was her soon to be mates friend. At that, we left her in the dungeon. She was lying on the floor, crying. Alpha Gabe banned her from our pack and told Chris to do with her whatever he felt was suitable.
“What about the others,” Gabe asked as we ascended the stairs.
“We will take care of it,” Chris stated.

Chapter 54
When we reached the top of the steps and walked out into the cool air, it was evening. We had been in the dungeon for hours, Dawson was leaning against the side of the building, eyeing some wolves that were hanging in the woods not far from the building. The rest of our men were standing in a semi circle around our trucks, backs toward each other so that all view points were covered.
“What does that even mean?“, I turned to his Beta. He just gave me an angry face and grunted. This guy has zero personality, I thought to myself. Alpha Chris chuckled in front of me.
“My Beta isn’t much for talking Cody. He’s more of a fighter. When my last Beta was killed, I was happy to choose him. It’s going to be hard to kill him.” Alpha Chris turned and smirked at me, but kept walking towards the pack house.
They made no effort to go back inside, instead stopping in front of the pack house. Alpha Chris turned to Gabe, “Here is what I’m going to tell you. Jacob shouldn’t be punished because that bitch lied to him. He was protecting her, or that’s how he saw it. I would say he wanted Dawson to know that he was a target if he went near Bonnie again. Clearly we can see that she orchestrated this whole mess. Gabe stood there with his poker face on, waiting for Chris to continue. “I can assume since you banned her from your pack land, she also won’t be working in the cafe any longer. The chances of her coming upon any of your pack, is slim at this point. She will be punished, because not only has she embarrassed Jacob, but she cost herself a loss in income. What Jacob decides to do about that, it’s on him. I will force them to mark each other and take each other as mates, which should effectively let her know she can’t go around throwing herself at other men. I will probably leave her in the dungeon for a few more days, maybe give her a reason to fear me. I haven’t had a chance to whip anyone in a while. He has a crazed smile on his face, and I suddenly realize that this whole lot is a bit unhinged.
