Cody
A day after Carolyn received the strange phone call, we were called to the Alpha’s office. With Alpha Tobias on the phone, he was giving us an update. I sat while they asked Carolyn various questions about the calls and when they first started. When she was asked about her deceased mates pack, she turned white as a sheet. It turns out that he was from a pack in Oregon. She had actually only been there once, when they first met. She had only met his relatives on one occasion, and that was over twenty five years ago.
Alpha Tobias had some thoughts that the calls might be coming from someone in his pack. It turns out that both his parents were still alive. He had made the effort to reach out to them. All they could say was that they hadn’t heard from Grady in about fifteen years. They have another son, Wyatt. He lives in Oregon and as far as they knew, he was mated to a she–wolf from the Crimson Pack, which was on the Oregon coastline. He was also one who didn’t keep in touch with them. They lived on the Eastern side of Oregon, deep in the mountains. The pack lived a more primitive life and rarely interacted with humans. Alpha Tobias was looking into Wyatt as a possible suspect for the phone calls and threats. Carolyn confirmed that he could be the one, as he and Grady spoke frequently on the phone. If he couldn’t reach Grady, it was possible he had sent scouts to search for him. Wyatt was the top warrior for that pack and therefore would have the resources to allow much of this to happen.
Later that night, Carolyn and I are having dinner in our little house. She’s unusually quiet and seems lost in thought. “Carolyn?“, I reach over and touch her hand, her eyes then snapping up to meet mine. “Are you doing ok, anything you want to talk about?“.
Carolyn takes a deep sigh, “I feel terrible that I didn’t think of Grady’s brother. I knew they spoke frequently, but I don’t think I thought he would try to do anything to me. He knew his brother was a drunk and had anger problems. I heard him on the phone a few times, and he was arguing with him, telling him maybe he should go back home to get his act cleaned up. He didn’t want to do anything about his drinking or his other things,” she looked pained by this, but it was gone as quickly as it was there. “I do have concerns, Wyatt is very intense. He’s strong. I am no fighter. I can do ok if need be but I stopped training years ago, because Grady didn’t allow it.”
I stood from my seat and walked around to Carolyn’s chair, pulling her up to me. “I am not going to let him or anyone hurt you. I can fight well enough for the both of us. And if you want to start training again, I wouldn’t be opposed. In fact, I think it would be good for you. All of the women here train until they meet their mates, and they can continue training after that if they desire to. Your brother has made it very well known that he wants the she–wolves to be able to defend themselves and encourages training.”
Carolyn stands on her tippy toes, and puts her hands around my neck to pull me down to meet her lips. It’s not often she initiates anything intimate so I’m thrilled to feel her pressing her body against mine. Our tongues are battling it out and I feel myself growing warmer, my cock getting hard. It’s been rough, living with this beautiful woman, while trying to be a gentleman all the time. I want to make her mine in so many ways. I also want to make sure she is ready. She pulls back from the kiss and looks up at me, those beautiful blue eyes filled with nothing but trust. “Cody, I know you will protect me. I do think I should go back to training, for many reasons. Maybe if I had been allowed to train all these years, I could have fought back.”
