Seeing that Claire wasn’t responding, Frederick’s gaze grew even
darker.
He grabbed her wrists, pinning them above her head against the headboard before pressing his lips against hers.

Claire was caught off guard. Her entire body froze, leaving her only aware of the warmth of Frederick’s lips.
Her mind went completely blank, except for one realization.
Frederick was actually kissing her?
“Tell me! How many people have you slept with?”
As Claire was still dazed, Frederick’s voice broke through once

This time, his lips hovered over hers. His words were mumbled and a little unclear.
His tone was soft, lacking the harshness it usually carried.

Nodding, Claire wrapped her arms tightly around Frederick.

It felt like a dream as Claire’s body trembled, instinctively wanting to hold onto him tighter.
But she feared that if she held on too tight, it would all slip away like sand between her fingers.
