Lia stared at him, her mind drifting. She felt like every breath she took was filled with his presence. Her ears burned, and her heart pounded wildly.
She had only intended to give him a simple tie, but his words gave it a whole new meaning.
Feeling flustered, she said, “I just remembered I haven’t opened the gift Molly gave me. I should go check.”
“Molly’s gift?” He raised an eyebrow and gently set her down.
“Yes.” Lia dashed to the dressing room and retrieved a small pink gift box.
It was topped with a red ribbon in a cute design.
Coby hugged her from behind, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder as he watched her.
Lia nervously untied the ribbon. The moment she lifted the lid, she immediately closed it again in shock.
Though the man behind her didn’t see what it was, her reaction gave him the answer.
“Lia, why did you close it?” he asked.
“Um, well…” She stammered for a long time, her face turning completely red.
It was a bunny girl–themed lingerie set. Molly had purposely told her to open it on Valentine’s Day.
“Don’t like it?” he asked again, struggling to suppress his amusement.
“No, I like it. It’s just… She was too shy to say it.
“What did Molly give you?” His large hand reached over her side and opened the box.
“No, don’t… Lia tried to stop him
But Coby saw it. A fleeting glint shined in his eyes that was hard to detect.
Lia nervously tugged at her clothes.
Seeing her discomfort, he kindly said, “I’ll talk to her about it later?
“It’s okay. This is just a small gesture from her,” said Lia.
She was simply too thoughtful, even preparing something like this.
He gently turned her around and said softly, “I won’t force you. If you don’t want to wear it, just throw it away.”
Throw it away? But this was a kind gesture from her. Lia shook her head. “I won’t throw it away. She meant well, and besides,, I’m ready now.”
“Ready for what?” Coby didn’t quite follow.
Lia hesitated and mumbled. “You know… My period is over.”
Will he like it? She wondered.
Lia is going to wear it?‘ Coby’s mind already painted a vivid picture. Although his heart raced, he kept his composure. “Lia, you don’t have to force yourself.

It’s fine.” She reassured
She shyly wrapped her arms around his neck and whispered in s ear, “Coby, happy Valentine’s Day.”
With her taking the initiative, he couldn’t stay calm anymore.
“Babe, happy Valentine’s Day?
Coby kissed her enticing lips, lifted her in one orth, and walked toward the bathroom.
Lia still held that paper–thin lingerie in her hand.
As they entangled, her ankle chain let out crisp, joyful chimes that followed their rhythm.

Late night at a bar. Molly was with her friend Fiona.
“Molly, my boyfriend’s here to pick me up. Sorry, I can’t stay with you,” Fiona said apologetically
Molly smiled and waved her hand. “It’s fine! Why didn’t you tell me you had a boyfriend? I’m the one holding you up. Go ahead
Turns out, I’m the only on
single,’ she thought.
Fiona had planned to spend the night with her friend, but her boyfriend kept texting her nonstop. She had no choice but to -leave. “Molly, should we drop you off? I’d feel uneasy leaving you here alone.”
“I’ll head home soon. My driver’s already waiting at the door, so don’t worry. You should go–it’s late, go enjoy your date,” said Molly.
Fiona thought about it and nodded. “Alright then, I’ll head out. Call me if you need anything!”
“OK, bye,” said Molly.
Molly felt a bit lonely, Her parents were out on a date, and her brother and Lia were likely having a romantic evening as well. which is why she decided to step out.
Still, she found herself alone. Feeling bored, she grabbed her bag and prepared to leave not long after her friend had left.
“What a surprise to see you here, someone said.
The speaker was Abby, Molly’s industry peer. They used to be good friends, but as competitors in the design world, their relationship had soured over time.
For someone who had plagiarized her designs, Molly had no patience. “Why wouldn’t I be here?”
Seeing her alone, Abby sneered. “What’s this? Spending Valentine’s Day by yourself?”
“Who says I’m alone?” said Molly.
“Oh! Then you’re here with your boyfriend?” asked Abby.
Abby still harbored resentment because her current boyfriend had once pursued Molly.
“What’s it to you?” Molly wasn’t pleased.
Abby shrugged. “Let’s meet him then. I’m with Pete now. Don’t tell me you still have feelings for him!”

“Are you delusional? When did I ever like him!”
Pete Davis–just hearing his name annoyed her. Back when she was studying abroad, he had constantly pestered her.
“In that case,
unut your boyfriend so we can meet him,” said Abby
“What a joke. Why should I call him just because you said so? Molly ignored her and walked out.
“Molly, stop pretending. In terms of design, you can’t compare to me. As for boyfriends, hat Abby mockingly covered her mouth. “It’s probably some nobody you’re too embarrassed to ling around.
Molly hated being provoked, especially when it came to her designs.
“I must’ve been blind to not notice you plagiarizing my work. Fine, you want to see? I’ll call himn right now,” said Molly.
Abby was ready to mock her, but seeing her actually make a call piqued her curiosity. What kind of guy could it be?
“Perfect timing! Friends from the design world are here too. Were all eager to meet your boyfriend.” She mocked.
In the private room, everyone waited for Molly to call her boyfriend. She excused herself and stepped out to make a call.
It was late. She didn’t know who to call.
She regretted her slip of the tongue.
It was Valentine’s Day, and everyone was out celebrating.
Molly didn’t have many male friends. Even the few she had were just professional acquaintances. At this moment, the only person who came to mind was her brother. But that was a terrible idea. Asking for his help now would only invite trouble.
Standing outside the restroom, she watched men occasionally walking out and suddenly had an idea.
She’d just grab a random guy to play along. After all, no one would know if it was real or fake.
She decided to leave it to fate. She’d approach the third man to walk out.
Inside the restroom, three men were washing their hands.
“Dr. Walker, why aren’t you chatting with the nurses?” asked a balding man to man wearing glasses beside him.
“You guys go ahead. I’m just tagging along” he said.
“It’s Valentine’s Day, Dr. Walker. Those nurses came because of you. This is your chance to find someone!” said a shorter
man.
Remy had thought it would just be a simple drinking session, not a mixer with nurses. “I think being single is pretty good.” Watching his friends get married had made him waver at times, but when it came to dating, he believed in quality over. quantity.
“Seems like none of them caught Dr. Walker’s eye. So, what kind of woman do you like?” someone asked.
“Let’s go. We shouldn’t keep everyone waiting.” Remy said with a faint smile.
“Alright, let’s go.”
Outside, Molly kept her eyes fixed on the restroom. Passersby looked at her like she was a creep, but she didn’t care. She just needed to grab someone.
Chapter 37
Just then, a man walked out, then another, and then the third o
Without even getting a good look, Molly rushed forward to block his path “Excuse me, do you have a girlfriend?” If he had one, she wouldn’t bother him.
Startled by the sudden appearance of a sweet smiling woman, Reny instinctively replied, “No”
Her fair skin, bright eyes, and dimples made her smile captivating
No girlfriend–perfect. Molly’s smile widened as her voice softed. “Can we talk for a moment?”
She finally got a clear look at him: gold–rimmed glasses, relined and composed.
His expression was calm, almost emotionless.
He wasn’t unattractive–quite the opposite, Among a crowd, he’d definitely stand out. She felt lucky. The guy she randomly picked was as handsome as a model.
She couldn’t help but wonder if he had abs, If he were on a runway, he’d be perfect–he might even rival her brother in looks.
“Focus, Molly” she chided herself. “This is about finding a boyfriend, not a model.”
“Go on, go on. Teased the other two doctors, winking at Remy.
“Looks like it’s your lucky day. They joked as they left.
Tm not a bad person.” Molly quickly assured him.
“What do you need?‘ he asked.
Her smile seemed familiar, as if he’d seen her somewhere before Strangely, he found himself believing her.
Once the others had left, she pulled him aside. “Could you do me a favor?”
“What kind of favor?” he asked.
From her designer clothes, he guessed she wasn’t someone in financial trouble.
“Pretend to be my boyfriend for a few minutes. Don’t worry. I’ll pay you. Name your price–1 just need you to show up with me.” Molly wasn’t about to let him feel shortchanged,
“Boyfriend?” Remy was surprised.
“Yes, would you mind?” Molly asked, looking hopeful.
“Why don’t you ask someone else?” He wasn’t interested. Are girls always this straightforward these days?
Molly blinked, taken aback by his refusal. “Fine, thank you anyway.”
Remy froze for a moment. ‘She gave up so easily?”
Just as Molly was about to leave, Abby walked over, arms crossed
“Molly. I thought you ran off, Abby said, eyeing the refined man beside her with suspicion. “Is this your boyfriend?”
Abby’s displeasure made Molly happy, so she changed her mind. She decided it had to be him.
I’m not… Before Remy could finish, Molly affectionately grabbed his arm. “Yes, this is my boyfriend.”

“What’s the big deal? Everyone’s waiting for you two–hurry back Abby said, lifting her chin with arrogance before striding off Sure, the guy was handsome, but she figured he was all looks and no substance.
Molly stuck her tongue out at Abby’s retreating figure, and Remy thought the playful gesture was rather cute.
“Hey, handsome. I’m Molly Marsh. Please help me out–I’m not bad person, I swear. I really need your help. She pleaded.
At this point, finding another man wasn’t an option. She had no choice but to rely on him.
‘Molly Marsh? Could it be… Remy thought of a possibility.
“Handsome, I really need your help. You saw how that woman deliberately provoked me. I’ll pay you–just help me, please.” She begged again.
“What do you want me to do?” he asked.
“Just, um… Wait, are you agreeing?” Molly asked excitedly.
The man smiled and introduced himself. “Yeah, I’m Remy.”
“Wait, why is he suddenly being so agreeable? Whatever, as long as he can help, that is all that mattered, she thought.
After discussing the details, Molly took Remy’s arm affectionately, and the two of them walked into the private room.
Under everyone’s surprised gazes, she spoke calmly, “Let me introduce you all–this is my darling.”
Darling? Remy suppressed a laugh and greeted everyone politely. “Hello, everyone.”
“Molly, what does your boyfriend do? I’ve never seen him in design. Is he not well–known?” Abby’s sidekick sneered.
The room erupted in laughter.
“Molly, don’t settle for just anyone because you’re upset with Abby-it’s not worth it.” Someone else chimed in.
Molly tossed her hair coquettishly. “What does it matter to her who I date!”
“Please, as if I’d be interested in someone like him.” Abby taunted.
“Say that again, and… Molly wanted to argue.
Remy patted her hand, signaling her to stay calm.
“I’m a doctor, so it’s normal if you haven’t heard of me.”
“A doctor? No wonder he is so composed–he’s calm like Coby. Molly thought.
“A doctor? What kind?” someone asked curiously.
“Cardiology.” Remy replied without hesitation.
“Wow, a doctor! I stay up late a lot–am I at risk of sudden death
“Sometimes I get chest pain. Should I get it checked out?”
“What’s the big deal? It’s just a doctor, Abby said sarcastically, noticing the shift in everyone’s attitude.
“Oh, no worries. Just don’t go to a doctor if you’re sick. But then again, I bet you’re expecting to die after all the shading

things you’ve done,” Molly said innocently
“You… Abby’s face turned livid with anger.
This girl had gotten sharp, Remy thought as he looked at her.
Molly noticed his gaze and gave him a cheeky wink. “Alright, my darling and I have things to do, so we’ll be off
“Molly, leave us your boyfriend’s number! We want to ask him some questions.”
“Yeah. Molly!”
Ignoring them. Molly dragged the man away. She’d achieved her goal and wasn’t about to waste more time talking to them,
Outside the room, she found a more private spot and took out her phone. “Thanks for helping me. Let me transfer some
money to yoLL”
“No need,” he said casually. It had just been a small favor.
“I don’t like owing people. You deserve it, or I’ll feel guilty.” She made an adorably persuasive face, hard to refuse.
Remy gave her his number.
Molly smiled. “Why are you giving me your phone number as well?”
“Well, happy Valentine’s Day,” he replied.
“Thank you.” She smiled.
Then, Molly paid him a thousand five dollars on her phone.
“Thanks again for your help. I won’t bother you anymore. Bye!” Molly waved her hand.
“You’re heading back?” He followed closely behind her.
“Yeah,” she said.
“I’ll take you,” said Remy.
Molly shook her head. “No need, thank you.”
“I’m free anyway. Let me take you. Come on, I’m not a bad guy, he said.
That sounded so familiar. He was throwing her own words back at her.
As they passed a bar, a sharp–eyed doctor who had come with Remy spotted him and called out. “Dr. Walker, leaving already?”
“Yeah, you all have fun,” said Remy.
“Dr. Walker, who’s she?” a nurse asked in a tone dripping with jealousy.
“Dr. Walker’s admirer, said a doctor who had just returned from the restroom.
Molly wasn’t upset when she heard that. In that situation, it was easy to misunderstand–after all, she had approached him
first.
“Dr. Walker has so many admirers. How could she possibly stand a chance? another nurse said mockingly.

“He’s that popular? Molly pouted. ‘What does it have to do with me anyway? These people are so rude
Remy pulled the petite woman next to him closer. “This is my gfriend.”
“Huh?” Molly was shocked.
Not only were his colleagues stunned, but even Molly was taker mark. What is he doing?
Leaning close to her ear, Remy whispered, “I helped you once. Now you help me. I’ll pay you as well.”
She felt she was obliged to return the favor.
Molly immediately put on a sweet smile, clinging to his arm. “Sorry, everyone, I just managed to win him over. Dr. Walker is
mine now.”
“What a shame!” a few nurses chimed in with feeling.
“Dr. Walker has a girlfriend now, You have to treat us to dinner! one of the doctors teased..
“Exactly! No skipping our on this one, Dr. Walker!”
Everyone sted chiming in one after another.
“Next time. Remy said with a helpless smile.
“You have to bring your girlfriend next time, Dr. Walker.”
Molly forced a stiff smile beside him.
“We’ll talk next time. We’ll head out first. Enjoy yourselves,” he said.
After bidding his colleagues goodbye, the two stepped out of the bar, finally enjoying some peace and quiet.
“I helped you, and you helped me. I’ll refund you the money now. Remy said seriously.
“It’s fine. Thank you for trusting me.” Molly pointed to the car parked by the roadside. “My ride’s here, Dr. Walker. No need to see me off. Goodbye.”
“Take care,” he said.
“You too.” Molly waved at him.
Watching her get into the car, he smiled and kicked a small stone by the road.
So the girl didn’t remember him after all.
