Chapter 45
“Yes, young master” The driver walked up to Lia. “We can give you a ride.”
“Thank you,” said Lia.
After the man in the car agreed, Lia finally got in,

“Sorry for disturbing you. Thank you for taking me to the hospital.” Lia bowed to him, but the man didn’t say anything, and she didn’t dare speak further.
fer getting in the car, Lia kept her distance from the young master, worried about dirtying his clothes, and she huddled near the door,
This girl seemed young, with a serious abrasion on her knee. She was very cautious and careful.
For the first time, Coby felt an impulse to talk to a strange girl. Normally, he found them annoying, especially since he had a chatty younger sister who made him think girls around him were always too noisy.
Lia wasn’t sure what he was thinking. Was he worried she might try to scam them? Should she explain herself?
“You…” Just as he was about to speak, the girl in front of him broke the silence. “Sir, don’t worry. I’m only here because I have something to do at the hospital, not to scam you.”
‘Sir? Did he really look that old? Coby felt uncomfortable with the term.
The driver almost burst into laughter but managed to hold it back.
“Aren’t you going to get checked?” Coby cleared his throat and asked.
“I’m fine, no need,” she replied.
Lía figured her wounds would heal in a few days and didn’t want to spend extra money.
Coby glanced at her knees again. They were trembling–perhaps from the cold, or maybe something else.
Not one to concern himself with others‘ issues, he turned to look out the window.
The car fell into an awkward silence.
When they arrived at the hospital, Coby noticed her pale face and felt an odd pang in his chest. Against his usual nature, he got out of the car and said, “I’ll take you for a checkup.”
Lia was stunned for a moment before smiling and shaking her head. “It’s fine. I don’t want to take up more of your time. Thank you for giving me a ride. Goodbye.”
After bidding them farewell, she hobbled toward the hospital on her own.
Coby stared at her frail figure disappearing into the distance. On impulse, he called out, “What’s your name?”
Without thinking, she replied, “Lia.”
He remembered that name ever since.
Later, he saw her again at high school but she didn’t recognize him.
By then, she had become known as Issac’s girl.

Despite this, Coby continued to watch her quietly.

Lia realized after arriving at the hospital that the necklace she always wore was missing. She went back to search for it but couldn’t find it.
Coby’s fingers brushed over the crescent moon pendant. “The necklace fell in the car. When I saw you again, I wanted to return it, but I had a selfish thought.”
A selfish desire to keep something of hers.
Her pale arm draped over his shoulder as she sat sideways on his lap.
Their breaths mingled, tickling each other’s faces.
“Do you know how excited I was when I saw you in the classroom, Lia? I thought, this woman is mine, even if you were with Issac.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know.” Lia had always assumed the man in sunglasses that night wasn’t someone her age, never suspecting he was her classmate.
“It’s fine now that you do,” he murmured, leaning in to claim her lips once more.
His kisses captured her tenderness, greedily savoring her sweetness.
Lia surrendered to his passion, forgetting her earlier attempt to send him away.
His lips trailed from her rosy lips to the delicate curve of her neck. She couldn’t help tilting her head, giving him better
access.
“Mmm…” Her soft, breathless moans were like music to his ears.
He scooped her up and carried her to the bathroom.
“Lia,” he whispered against her skin, his lips never stopping. “I want you.”
She stopped thinking, her body trembling slightly as she clung tightly to him.
He took her silence as consent, his heart bursting with joy.
The bathroom quickly filled with steamy mist.
Her bright eyes were clouded with a dewy haze as she lay limply against the edge of the tub.
From behind, Coby enveloped her in his arms, planting feather–light kisses along her slender back.
The water rippled rhythmically.

Lia was carried out of the bathroom by him, completely drained and unable to keep her eyes open, while Coby looked as energized as ever.
“Go ahead and sleep,” he said gently, his touch tender as he dried her body with a towel.
She barely lifted her eyelids and mumbled, “Sorry for not recognizing you earlier.”
His heart melted as he placed her on the bed, climbing in beside her and pulling her into his arms.

“At that time, my eyes were injured, and I was wearing sunglasses. It’s normal that you didn’t recognize me, but as long as I recognized you, that’s enough,” he said.
He had injured his eyes? No wonder.

Lia wrapped her arms around his slim waist, resting her cheek against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. It was an unprecedented feeling of safety.
“I never believed in things like love at first sight, but I have to admit, Lia, I fell for you the moment I saw you,” said Coby.
Coby tilted his face up, gazing at her with deep affection. “I’ve spent nine years proving that I fell in love with your inner beauty, not your appearance.
“Maybe I was initially drawn to you because of how you looked, but over time, I realized your strength made me surrender. Everything about you makes me want to possess you, and I’m willing to be your servant.”
Lia met his gaze, trying to control the rapid beating of her heart, but it was impossible. A warm and sweet feeling surged within her.
His words about love were so beautiful that she couldn’t help but be moved.
It wasn’t just empty talk. She didn’t think there was anything special about her to deserve such affection.
Coby had an irresistible charm–one that came from within.
“You have become an indispensable part of my existence. Lia, I’ll never let you go.” Coby gently bit her pale earlobe, sending shivers down her spine.
Lia hugged the man tighter, her voice filled with emotion. “Coby, but it’s been so unfair for you. How will I ever return the amount of love you’ve given me?”
She felt sorry for him.
But her words brought him joy. He leaned against her, his hand gently caressing her hair. “All I wanted was to hold you. You’ve given me more than I deserve.”
Both of them decided in their heart that they would walk the path of life together.

Morning came.
Lia opened her eyes to see the man’s face so close to hers. She silently watched his sleeping face, hard to imagine that he would fall for her just from that one look.
The man’s long arm tightened around her as he kissed her distractedly. “Lia.”
Caught in the act, Lia awkwardly turned her face away.
Coby gently rubbed his stubble against her delicate neck, the prickly sensation tickling her.
“Hehe, that tickles.” She squirmed and tried to escape, but couldn’t avoid his touch.
Lia sighed and lightly bit his shoulder. “Coby, we really should get up.”
“Liz, bite me again, here.” He pointed to his Adam’s apple.
“Stop fooling around, Coby. We really should get up,” she said.

“Just give me a kiss, Lia.” He pleaded.
His long legs wrapped around her who tried to escape. He tilted his head back, guiding her hand to his moving Adam’s apple.
“Lia, sweetheart, kiss me,” he said.
‘Is he acting cute?‘ Lia found it both amusing and cute.

“You’re not giving me a kiss? Should I kiss you instead?” His gaze lingered on a certain area of her body, making Lia gasp.
“I’ll kiss you.” She cupped his face and softly kissed his attractive Adam’s apple.
Coby flipped over, pinning her beneath him.
“Coby,” Lia stammered, poking his chest in embarrassment.
“Lia, let’s sleep a bit more.”
