Chapter 49
After returning from Floral Island, Lia and Coby’s relationship was visibly better.
“Coby, it’s done,” said Lia.
She had tied his tie and was about to step back when his large hand climbed up her slender waist and pulled her closer, making them inseparable.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
lepointed to his lips. “From now on, we need to have a good morning kiss and a good night kiss
every day.”
“Why?” Lia smiled slightly.
“Because every time I see you, my dopamine levels spike. These are the happiest times of my day,” said Coby.
Lia knew dopamine influenced emotions, but he was so good with words.
She kissed his thin lips, as a silent agreement.
“Hurry up, we’ll be late.” Lia took his hand, and the man seized the opportunity to link their fingers tightly.

There was a knock at the office door of Ford Group’s Secretary Department.
Knock, knock, knock….
“Lia, here’s the invitation for tomorrow night’s charity event.” Phoebe placed the invitation on
“Hmm, after the meeting, I’ll give it to Mr. Ford,” Lia replied.
the desk.
“Okay, by the way, Lia, the front desk called and said a florist is downstairs delivering roses for you.” Phoebe’s curious side couldn’t hold back.
The flowers had already been sent up to the office.
Lia furrowed her brows. “Flowers? Are you sure it’s for me?”
She hardly had any male friends. Though she had some admirers back at Allen Group, she hadn’t interacted with any male colleagues since leaving.
Who would send flowers? And roses, at that.
“I double–checked with the front desk. The florist said it’s for Ms. Phillips in the Secretary Department,” said Phoebe.
In the Secretary Department, there was only one woman named Philips, and Phoebe was sure it was for her.
“Lia, it must be one of your admirers,” she said.
“Have the front desk refuse it for me.” Lia didn’t care.
Phoebe was shocked. “Huh? Lia, just refuse it outright? Don’t you want to know who it’s from?”
“No need, go back to work,” she said.

“Okay” Phoebe nodded and left the office.

The meeting had already been going on for over an hour. There was a problem with the overseas project, and the executives in charge of the international projects were treading carefully.
Lia hadn’t attended because she was busy preparing other work, so Millie was in charge of taking the meeting minutes.
Around eleven, Phoebe came back to Lia’s office.
“Lia, the florist hasn’t left yet. The security has asked him to leave a few times, but he said he won’t go until you see him,” said Phoebe.
This matter quickly spread through the company. Sending flowers might seem small, but it caused quite a stir within the company.
I’ll go downstairs and take a look.” Lia had no choice.
She had to intervene–it was clear the delivery was targeted at her.
Lia instinctively thought it was Issac, but based on his usual behavior, he wouldn’t be this persistent.
Outside Ford Group Building, a florist employee stood there holding 99 roses, quite conspicuous.
He was standing at the building’s entrance, and anyone passing by could see him.
Lia walked toward the florist employee. “Sir, please take the flowers back. If you block the way again, our security will escort you out, and they won’t be nice.”
The florist employee looked troubled. “Sorry, I have no choice. Our client specifically asked for Ms. Phillips to accept these, and there’s also something else.”
Lia didn’t want to make things hard for him. “Give it to me.”
“You?” The florist employee sized her up.
“This is Ms. Phillips, hurry up and give it to her, then leave.” The front desk supervisor urged him. If he couldn’t handle something this simple, he wouldn’t be staying.
Oh, yes, right away.” The florist employee quickly pulled a small bag out from among the roses and handed it to her. Lia hesitated for a moment before taking it and opening the bag. Inside was a star–shaped object.
A star.
The florist employee and the front desk supervisor were both stunned, thinking it was something important, but it was just a small, insignificant star, made out of paper.
Lía looked at it expressionlessly, then put it back in the bag and returned it.
“Please tell him that I’m allergic to roses. Also, from now on, no matter what is sent, security will drive them away. This is the last time,” she said.
“Got it,” the delivery man replied.
‘Allergic to roses? The florist awkwardly nodded and left, embarrassed.
‘A star. Who else could it be but him?‘ Lia thought.
