Chapter 55
On the large bed in the room, Lia’s face was flushed, beads of sat on her forehead. Her small hands tugged at his tie as desire clouded her mind, robbing her of reason.
“Coby!” she called.
Distressed by her discomfort, Coby tried his best to soothe her.
“Lia. I’m here.” He shed his obstructive clothing. Lia murmured softly, her pale arms wrapping around his neck as she
offered him a tender kiss.
The long night burned with passion.
Meanwhile, Issac struggled to his feet, his body burning like it was on fire. Staggering to the door, he tried to open it, only to find it locked from the outside.
Those useless bodyguards couldn’t even stop Coby.
Issac knew this was all Coby’s doing. He would never let him get away with it.
His body buzzed with unnatural excitement.
Damn it. Lia! Issac was in a daze, desperately trying to grasp something intangible.
Ahhhh!” A woman’s cries of pain echoed in his ears.
Frances was lying on the floor, clawing at her own body.
His eyes glinted with a primal, predatory desire.
This woman was still here.
Worthless woman.
Issac crawled over and pounced on her.
“Mmm… Frances instinctively clung to him as his presence momentarily alleviated her discomfort.
Issac bit into her shoulder.
“Mmm…” She experienced a confusing mix of pain and pleasure, unconsciously wrapping her arms around his head.
Despite his deep–seated disgust for her, Issac felt he had no other choice.
It was all Coby’s doing. The humiliation he endured today would be repaid tenfold in the future.
The next morning, Lia slowly woke up, her entire body aching and unable to move without pain.
Fragmented, intimate memories from the previous night flashed through her mind, and she instinctively hugged the man
beside her.
“Lia, it’s okay now,” he said softly, stroking her slender back to comfort her.
Coby had been awake for some time, quietly watching her

No matter how strong the appeared, she was still capable of fear
“Coby” Relief washed over her at the sight of him.
Having him by her side felt like the greatest blessing.
Lia had always believed in the inherent goodness of people, but he had been wrong. Some hearts were irredeemably cruel
“Rest well. Don’t speak. You’re exhausted. Her voice was hoarse er eyes bloodshot. She hadn’t slept the entire night and was clearly worn out.
Lia gazed at him silently, overwhelmed by the urge to cry. His clean, refreshing scent gave her a sense of security. She was terrified–terrified that it might not have been him, terrified of being close to another man.
When Issac tried to approach her, she felt nauseous and repulsed.
She despised his touch, her mind filled only with thoughts of Coby.
Lia realized she had fallen completely and irreversibly in love with him.
At some point, she found herself wanting to belong to him entirely, body and soul.
Coby spoke gently, “Don’t worry, Lia. No matter what, I’ll always be by your side.”
Lia’s heart fluttered as she nestled into his embrace, listening to his heartbeat and finding peace within herself.
They held each other for an indeterminate amount of time. Only after she had fallen asleep did Coby carefully get phone in hand, and step out onto the balcony to make a call.
“How did it go?” asked Coby.
“Mr. Ford, everything went as planned. However, there was another woman in the room, and they last night…” said Owen.
“Take photos of them and leak them to the public,” said Coby
“Understood,” said Owen
Ending the call, he returned to the bed and kissed Lia on the forehead, his gaze full of tenderness. “Sleep well, my darling” Lia dreamed of her high school sophomore year, during a wilderness camping trip.
The entire class had participated. Initially, Lia hadn’t planned to join because the trip required an extra fee, which she simply couldn’t afford. Though Cora had offered to pay for her, she had declined.
Later, the teacher approached her, saying that the school would subsidize the top student in each class, offering a free spot. Technically, it shouldn’t have been hers.
Lia’s grades were good, but she wasn’t the best. Coby was consistently ranked first in every exam, so the spot should have gone to him.
That day, both Lia and Coby were in the teacher’s office.
“There’s one spot for our class. Why don’t you two discuss the teacher began.
Before she could finish. Coby glanced at Lia, who was staring down at the floor, and said calmly, “I don’t need it.”
Because of his words, the free spot went to her.

Lia knew that the teacher was trying to help her. Most people at his school were rich, so they didn’t

Only people like her would care, but if she didn’t participate, shell be ridiculed and looked down upon by the others
as
But what the teacher didn’t know was that she was already seen nothing more than a lowly servant, so it didn’t really matter whether she participated or not.
Lia still forced herself to join, not for any other reason but because the teacher was genuinely trying to help her.
She was incredibly grateful. The teacher had taken care of her, never treating her differently even though she knew her
situation.
During the three–day, two–night camping trip, Lia spent most of her time with Cora.
At that time, Issac had a girlfriend, and the two were sweet together, leaving him no time to boss her around.
But just because Issac didn’t have the energy didn’t mean his girlfriend didn’t.
“Hey, my necklace is missing. Go find it for me,” Jessica said arrogantly.
“Not my responsibility. Lia walked past her, heading into the crowd.
“I get it, you’re too scared. Did you steal my necklace? You know it’s the gift Issac gave me, and you’re so jealous that you took it right?” said Jessica.
Jessica, like most of Issac’s other girlfriends, hated her. She was like a permanent servant, and no matter who was with Issac. they’d always suspect Lia’s intentions and naturally resent her.
“If you
lost your own necklace, don’t blame others, Lia replied.
Lia was the one who bought that necklace, and she didn’t know how many times she had bought things for Issac to give to his girlfriends. If she were jealous, she wouldn’t have just stolen a necklace.
“Who doesn’t know you’re poor? My necklace is worth tens of thousands. Your annual living expenses don’t even add up to that. If you don’t find my necklace today. I won’t let it go. I’ll make sure everyone knows you stole it,” said Jessica
“I may be poor, but I have integrity. I won’t do something so dirty. Lia firmly replied.
Jessica was determined to make things worse. Thanks to her spreading the word, the whole class thought Lia had stolen her necklace, and even the teacher called her in for a talk.
“Ms. Borris, if we’re just going off her word, there’s nothing I can say,” said Lia.
“I want to believe you, but now everyone is talking about it, and there’s no evidence either way,” Ms. Borris said. “If I had known this would happen, I wouldn’t have helped you apply. Now you’ve caused a scandal.”
Im sorry, Ms. Borris. It’s not your fault,” said Lia.
Even if others didn’t believe her, it didn’t matter. She didn’t care. But she had dragged Ms. Borris into this.
After the conversation with Ms. Borris, Lia stepped out, and Issac found her.
“You have until tonight to find Jessica’s necklace, or don’t even think about staying at this school.” With those words, Issac left without a second glance.
Lia had heard many threats before, but she had to study. She couldn’t be expelled. She wanted to escape from the Allen family, she didn’t want to be stuck there for the rest of her life.

Lia gave in. She went to look for the necklace, though she had no idea where it was.
Cora was angry at her weakness, questioning why she just obeyed
Lia wanted to have the courage to resist, but she didn’t..
It she couldn’t find the necklace, she wouldn’t be able to contin her studies. If Issac wasn’t happy, Madam would make her pay the money back. She couldn’t afford that
Even though Cora wanted to help her, she couldn’t go against the Allen family. Her family was no match for the Allen family.
Lia had no choice.
Cora helped her look, but not long after, another classmate called her away, saying there was something important for her to
handle.
After that, Lia was left alone.
She searched for a long time but couldn’t find it. She wasn’t paying attention to where she was stepping, and before she knew it, she lost her balance and fell down the mountain
“Ah! No, no.” Lia suddenly woke up, feeling her moon–shaped necklace in her hand.
Why did she suddenly dream about that year?
She really had fallen, and when she woke up, she was in the hospital.
Later, she found out that the necklace was actually on Jessica. She had framed Lia on purpose.
Soon after, Jessica transferred to another school.
Cora said it was Issac who had first sent someone to look for her Everyone thought he had saved her, and Lia had always. believed that too.
But why did she dream about this?
Lia looked at the empty space beside her. He had gone out.
She tried to sit up but didn’t have the strength..
When Coby walked in, he saw her swaying and rushed over.
“Be careful” He hurriedly caught her. “What are you doing up?”
Lia’s pale face flushed. “Coby, I’m hungry.”
He smiled slightly. “I’ll have them bring it up. Lie down first. I’ll go get your pajamas.”
“Okay” Lia nodded.
He tucked the blanket around her, made a phone call, and then went to the wardrobe to get her some clothes.
Lia quietly watched his figure, her heart filled with gratitude.
She suddenly understood the meaning behind words about loving someone so much that they’re the only thing you

little things he did make her happy
Coby came out of the wardrobe with pajamas and happened to meet her curious gaze.
“What’s wrong?” He kissed her pink lips.
Lia shook her head. How could she express her feelings of love?
She remembered the proposal from that boy on Skyview Mountain, and wondered if saying she liked him directly would make him think she didn’t take it seriously.
He probably wouldn’t want to hear it if her reason for loving him was only because of last night.
“I’ll help you
put
it on. They’ll bring some food up later. Have something light first to fill your stomach,” said Coby
“Okay” Lia looked at him tenderly.
Coby took out the black two–piece pajamas, and gently helped her put them on. When he saw the bruises and marks on her body, he felt a pang of regret.
“I shouldn’t have… He looked guilty.
“It was my fault, I’m fine.” Lia blushed again. The broken images of the night were too much to bear, but she repeatedly reminded herself it was her choice.
Coby hugged her, apologizing with a guilty tone. “Lia, I’m sorry, I didn’t protect you well.”
When the driver told him she had disappeared, Coby felt an unprecedented panic. He never wanted to experience that feeling of his heart dropping into the abyss again.
Lia felt a lump in her throat. Without him, the consequences were unthinkable.
“You protected me very well, Coby. I’m just glad you came.” Lia was thankful it was him. She had never wished it to be anyone else.
“I only want to belong to you,” she whispered in his ear, her breath brushing against his skin, making his heart ache.
It was the most beautiful thing he had ever heard.
Lia only wanted to belong to him.
“I’ll only belong to you, Lia,” Coby replied.
A soft kiss, light as a feather, landed on her fair neck. Lia tilted her head back, and his kiss slowly moved upward to her soft lips.
“Uh, wait. Her small hand gently pushed against him.
Coby snapped out of his daze, frustrated with himself. “Did I hurt you? I’m sorry, Lia, I shouldn’t have acted without thinking
“I… haven’t washed up yet,” she said.
His brows relaxed. “I don’t mind, but your lips are swollen. I shouldn’t have done that. Go wash up first.”
“Okay.” Lia nodded.
He picked her up, and Lia naturally wrapped her arms around his neck. She had unknowingly become so accustomed to his embrace.

In the bathroom, Coby handed her the electric toothbrush with othpaste already applied. Lia took it and thanked him.
She was washing up while he stood by, watching
“You don’t have to stay here, said 13a.
“After you’re done, I’ll carry you out,” said Coby.
Lia blushed. “I need to use the bathroom.”
He pretended to be busy adjusting his sleeves. “Tell me when you’re done”
“Okay,” said Lia.
Although Coby left the room, he still waited outside the door.
After she finished, Lia stepped out, and the moment she did, he scooped her up into his arms.
“Actually, you don’t have to carry me,” said Lia.
It hurt, but walking wasn’t a problem.
“I want to carry you.” He lowered his head and rubbed his nose against her soft cheek, and Lia relented.
Later, a servant brought food, and Coby held her in his arms again.
Be good, I’ll feed you, Coby said.
“I can eat by myself,” Lia replied, embarrassed. It felt so awkward.
Coby put down the spoon, facing her. His voice softened. “I know you can, Lia. But sometimes, don’t refuse me. We’re married. You’re my wife. When I do these things, it’s not to fulfill my own desires. It’s because I want to do something for my
wife.
“I want to treat you well, to spoil you as much as possible. No matter how you are outside, in my eyes, you’re my little girl someone who deserves to be cherished, loved, and protected.”
Lia gazed into his affectionate eyes and couldn’t help but kiss his cheek.
“Okay,” she whispered.
She was touched by his words and understood the care behind them.
His love wasn’t loud or superficial. It showed in the little things he did.
Lia couldn’t deny that accepting his affection scared her–she feared it might feel too natural and expected over time. But despite her cautious efforts to guard her heart, she found herself falling for him. Since that was the case, why hesitate?
He fed her one spoonful after another, and Lia obediently ate.
“Coby, have you eaten?” she asked.
“No, he replied with a faint smile.
“Then let’s eat together.” Lia picked up the spoon and offered him a bite. Coby accepted it without hesitation.
“It’s a little sweet.” He commented.
“Really?” she asked. But it was scrambled eggs.
Coby leaned closer to her flighed ear and whispered slowly, “Everything you touch turns sweet”
