Chapter 56
Lia playfully poked his abs. “Let’s eat first.”
After lingering for a while, they finally finished their meal.
Coby carried her back to the bed and followed her onto it.
“Rest. Let me know if you feel unwell,” he said, his large hand rubbing her slender waist with a gentle yet firm touch.
“Don’t worry about me. Go handle your work, she replied.
It was Saturday, but she knew his schedule was still packed.
Coby nuzzled his chin against the top of her head. “Nothing is more important than you.”
His casual yet heartfelt words filled Lia with joy.
He had a way of providing emotional security. Being by his side made her feel genuinely happy.
“Then let’s nap together.” She suggested, wrapping her arms around his lean waist and finding a comfortable position in his embrace.
“Alright, let’s nap together” He agreed.
-He gently stroked her back, soothing her with soft, rhythmic pat
In a villa, the man on the bed woke up in pain, staring at the white ceiling with a momentary sense of confusion.
with a face swollen
The throbbing in his arm brought him back to reality. Issac stiftly turned his head to find a woman w beyond recognition. The sight made his stomach churn
“Ugh… Get out!” Even the act of speaking made his entire face ache, and as the events of the previous night came flooding back, his rage boiled over. He grabbed the woman’s messy hair.
“Ah… it hurts…” Still half–asleep, Frances furrowed her brows in pain, looking hideous as she grimaced.
“I said, get out!” Issac roared.
“Wha… Frances whimpered weakly, her scalp aching as she struggled to comprehend what was happening.
Issac used all his strength to kick her off the bed
Frances’s naked body, covered in bruises and marks, landed on the floor. Her skin appeared terrifyingly mottled.
“You vile woman, he screamed.
Frances opened her swollen eyes and looked at the man on the bed, memories of the night before rushing back to her.
Last night they
Would Issac take responsibility?
If she could marry him, she would finally become a rich wife.
Despite her fear of him, her greed for wealth and power outweighed it.

Boldly, she crawled to the edge of the bed and grabbed his arm Issac, will you take responsibility? I
He grabbed her jaw harshly, sneering. “Take responsibility?
“If it weren’t for you forcing me to drink that glass of wine, this wouldn’t have happened, she muttered. It was all his fault.
Issac had never met such a shameless woman, daring to ask him take responsibility. No woman had ever dared to threaten him like that.
Slap!
“You cheap woman.” He slapped her hard, grabbing her hair. A nan like you, who gets passed around by everyone, wants me to take responsibility? Only if I’m dead. Get out!”
Issac kicked her, and Frances rolled on the floor several times, unable to get up from the pain.
She glared resentfully at the naked man. It was his fault–why wasn’t he taking responsibility?
Wealth and power were right in front of her, and she wouldn’t just let it go.
Issac struggled to get out of bed, his legs weak and needing support to walk, but when he saw her looking at him like that, he…
“You b*tch…” He grabbed Frances’s hair, forcing himself on her.
“Ugh… no…” Frances shook her head violently
“If you bite, I’ll kill you.”
“Mmm…” Frances couldn’t breathe.
Every time he thought about who had caused all of this, Issac became more irritable. ‘Coby, I’ll make you pay!”
At Skyview Villa, Quinn and Molly hurried over, surprising Lia, who was still in bed. She quickly tried to get up.
“Lia, why do you look so pale? If you’re sick, you shouldn’t get out of bed, Quinn said, looking at Lia’s pale face with
concern.
It was a peaceful Saturday, and she had called Coby to have them come over for dinner, wanting to chat with Lia. However, Coby told her that Lia wasn’t feeling well, so she rushed over.
“Lia, have you seen a doctor?” Molly, who happened to be at home, followed her mother to visit.
“T… Lia looked at the man beside her in confusion, and Coby looked helpless..
“Tonly said that Lia wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t be coming back today, Mom, stop making a fuss,” he said.
Quinn glared at her son. “She’s clearly sick! Look, Lia’s neck is covered in red marks–this isn’t just a cold!”
Molly also noticed the marks and scolded. “Lia, if Coby doesn’t care about you, why don’t you just move back to the big house?
“Molly, I think that’s a good idea. This way, the three of us can go shopping together. Why do we need the men?” said Quinn Quinn had no siblings. Though she had close friends, nothing beat going shopping with Molly and Lia.
Molly had also been troubled by things lately and hadn’t stayed her own apartment. She would return home every day, so

now, it was the perfect time to chat.
Coby rubbed his forehead. “Tll take good care of Lia, you don’t live to worry”
“Quim. Molly, I’m fine. It’s just my throat that feels uncomfortable.” Lla explained awkwardly, but she still called out.
“Really, you’re fine?” Quinn eyed her suspiciously.
Lia blushed, nodding slightly.
“If it’s really nothing, then I’ll rest easy, Quinn said, relieved.
She also blamed herself for being so clueless.
Quinn smiled and stood up, pulling Coby aside to whisper, “You guys need to take a break from time to time.”
Coby’s face fell.
“What I mean is, everything in moderation. She added..
She looked closely, and saw that Coby had some marks on his neck too.
It’s good to be young.
“Don’t worry about us. Worry about Dad, Goby gritted his teeth and said.
Quinn went speechless.
She was only trying to be considerate. If this conversation kept going, her son would probably start kicking them out.
Quinn awkwardly walked back to the bed. “Lia, since you’re fine, then Molly and I will head back. Enjoy the weekend, and don’t worry about us,
“You’re leaving so soon?” asked Lia. It felt like they hadn’t even talked much,
Quinn grabbed her daughter’s arm. “Molly, I need to talk to you
“What is it, Mom? Let’s talk here.” She intended to stay a bit longer.
“About Doc…” Molly quickly covered her mother’s mouth. “Mom, let’s talk about it when we get home.”
“Alright, we’ll leave first. Quinn could tell something was up.
She wondered if soon her daughter would get married as well. Just the thought made her happy.
Tll see you off.” Lia got up, but Quinn quickly stopped her. “No need, Lia. You rest more. Coby, take good care of your wife
Just go already,” said Coby.
“Bye, Lia.”
“Bye.”
Quinn and Molly came and went quickly. Coby sent them off and returned to the
e room.
“Why are you up?” he asked.
Tve been lying down all day. I feel like I’m turning into a pig,” she said.
Chapter 30
“A linle pig?” He teased.-
Lia smiled lightly and looked out the window. “The weather’s really nice outside”
“Let’s go get some sun” Coby suggested.
“Okay,” she said.
He reached out his hand, and her small hand slid into his palm.
They walked out of the house, and the servants immediately go to work, though they couldn’t help but glance over at them from time to time.
Lia could guess what they were thinking. She used to feel uneasy about it, but now she didn’t mind. After all, to everyone. else, they were a married couple, and she accepted that with ease
They arrived at the courtyard.
Lia looked at the field of bellflowers in the distance, surprised. “When did these get here?”
toSwing The area behind the swing was all covered with bellflowers. Lia hadn’t noticed them before when she used to swing, but they weren’t there back then.
Coby held her hand and led her over.
“Mr. Torry from Floral Island thanked me for introducing a doctor to his son and wanted to send a gift as a token of appreciation. When I refused, he insisted, so I asked him for some bellflowers.” Coby explained.
She didn’t know about this and hadn’t heard him mention it before. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
Coby wrapped his arms around her waist, his forehead resting against hers. “The flowers were only delivered recently. I wanted to surprise you.”
“Thank you.” Lia said, tilting her head and placing a kiss on his lips. “I really like them”
He smiled and licked his lips. “Silly, you’re so easily satisfied.”
“The silly one knows I like bellflowers.” Lia smiled.
Both of them were silly in love. They smiled at each other..
The servants, who were peeking through the floor–to–ceiling windows, were all trying to get a better view.
“The lady is so lucky. Mr. Ford prepared so many bellflowers for her.”
“The whole family loves her. I’m so jealous.”
“The way Mr. and Mrs. Ford are together is so sweet. You can see how much
“I never knew Mr. Ford could be so affectionate. He’s usually so indifferent.”
I mean. He doesn’t love us. Of course he’ll be indifferent.”
they love each other
“You better stop slacking off, or I’ll send you all home!” A stern voice startled the servants, and they quickly scattered to get
back to work.
Olly watched as the servants hurried off, curious about what had caught their attention.
He looked around, his eyes widening. Mr. and Mrs. Ford were hugging each other.

After thinking for a moment, he realized it was nothing unusual After all, they were married–there was nothing to make a fuss about. But seeing it in public for the first time was a bit surprising.
Olly was watching with great interest when a sharp look shot in his direction. He quickly backed away
Lia wrapped her arms around his waist and thought for a while before asking, “Coby, can you go with me somewhere
Tomorrow!”
“Sure.” He smiled and nodded.
They arrived at the entrance of Angel Orphanage.
Lia had been abandoned in a park when she was just a few moniis old and was found by a passerby who sent her to this
welfare home.
She had brought him to the place where she stayed when she was very young.
“Angel Orphanage, that’s a beautiful name,” Coby said, looking at the name of the orphanage sincerely
“Why?” asked Lia.
“Because everyone here is an angel, a beloved child of heaven,” said Coby.
He actually understood. Lia’s heart stirred.
That’s the origin of the name. The headmistress said every child is unique. Even though they came here for various reasons, they’ll still receive blessings from above. The road ahead, they’ll have to walk themselves, with thorns as well as flowers.
Although Lia had left this place many years ago, she had always kept in touch with the orphanage. Sometimes, she would bring small snacks for the children.
“Next time I come, I’ll bring gifts in advance. He came empty–handed this time.
Lia nodded slightly. “I didn’t bring anything either.”
When they learned Lia was back, the headmistress personally came to meet them.
“How are you, Mrs. Hudson? Lia gave a warm hug to the woman, who was over fifty.
The headmistress had once been Lia’s supervisor. She had been an ordinary social worker back then, and the old headmistress had already retired.
Mrs. Hudson smiled widely, lightly patting Lia’s back. Tm doing well, Lia. I heard your grandmother isn’t feeling well. How is she?”
“Thank you for your concern, Mrs. Hudson. My grandmother is doing fine,” said Lia.
“She is kind, and heaven won’t mistreat her.” Mrs. Hudson looked at the man standing beside Lia. “And this is…”
Coby quickly spoke up. “I’m Lia’s husband, Coby, It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Hudson.”
Lia gave a shy smile, silently acknowledging it.
“Oh. Lia’s married, and you didn’t tell us? We haven’t had the chance to congratulate you yet.” Mrs. Hudson was especially fond of Lia, treating her like family.

Chapter 30
“Mrs. Hudson, we haven’t had our wedding yet. We’ll let everyone know when we plan it Lia quietly looked at him explaining so earnestly, Her heart warmed.
He didn’t mind her background and tried so hard to blend in. How could she not be moved by such a man?
Thank you for taking care of Lia On behalf of my wife, I’d like to donate 50 million to the orphanage to improve the children’s lives and education Colby had already decided to make the donation when they arrived at the door
“What… Lia.. Mrs. Hudson looked at Lia in surprise.
“Coby” Lia was also taken aback.
He squeezed her small hand and smiled. “This money is to thank the orphanage for the selfless care you’ve given her.”
Mrs. Hudson bowed in gratitude. “Thank you, Mr. Ford. Thank you, Lia. We are so grateful for your generosity to the orphanage.”
Lia quickly helped her up. “Please don’t say that. I should be the one thanking everyone for their care.”
After speaking with everyone for about half an hour, Lia knew she couldn’t delay their work any longer, so she and Coby left.
The back yard of the orphanage was near a mountain, and there was a big tree. When Lia was a child, she didn’t know what kind of tree it was, but the leaves were very yellow and beautiful It wasn’t until she grew up that she learned it was a ginkgo
She led him to the ginkgo tree. After all these years, it still stood here. Around the ginkgo tree, there used to be bellflowers. which was why Lia loved bellflowers. Her childhood curiosity hall turned into affection, but now the flowers were gone.
She sat under the tree, and Coby sat beside her. He knew that she had brought him here not just to show him the old environment, but because she had something she wanted to say,
“Before I was adopted, I often sat under this tree, watching the other children who came with me get adopted by their parents. Some found their families, and I wondered, when would it be my turn to leave here!
“The headmistress was very
ry kind to me, but I also wanted a family of my
Own.”
Her voice caught in her throat, and Coby held her hand. “Now, we have our own little family.”
Lia nodded slightly, continuing. “Finally, I was adopted by Mrs. Allen. She smiled and reached out to me, asking if I wanted to go with her. Her smile was so kind that I thought I had met the best person in the world.
“I went with Mrs. Allen to the Allen family, and I didn’t want to use them trouble. I just
She lifted her tearful eyes to look at him.
wanted to repay her for raising me.”
“I met Issac. He took me out to play, and gradually, our relationship got better. But things changed. I didn’t mind going back to being a servant, and I didn’t care how much work I had to do. She cried. “But I didn’t understand what I had done wrong. Mrs. Allen started to dislike me, and she even wanted to send me away.”
He tightened his grip on her hand, his gaze firm. “Lia, no matter what happened before, now, I’ll always be by your side.”
Lia hugged him, moved. “Coby, I’ve fallen for you, I love you. Thank you for giving me a family, for the love from your parents and Molly, and for making me feel like I’m important to someone else.”
