Chapter 57
Just a few simple words filled Coby’s heart and body with excitement. He thought it would take a long time, maybe forever, to hear this, but Lia said it.
Her voice trembled, filled with uncertainty. If, later, you don’t love me anymore, please tell me, and I’ll walk away. I won’t trouble you.”
Coby lifted her tear–streaked face and looked at her with gentle, urning eyes.
“Tll never let you go again. I missed my chance once, but this time, I’ll hold on tightly. Flove you, Lia, and I will only love
alfection. you.” His low, magnetic voice penetrated her ears, filled with the deepest
Their foreheads touched, and though there seemed to be many things left unsaid, everything was conveyed through their lingering kiss.
Lia’s heart trembled at his words. She gave herself fully to him, and he, in turn, showed no restraint in his love.
Her affection drove him, wild. He was like a young man experiencing love for the first time, wanting to possess all of her.
His soft lips gently brushed her moist cheek, collecting the sparkling tears from her face.
They embraced beneath a ginkgo tree. A gentle breeze blew, making the tree sway, its leaves dancing, almost as if celebrating

These topics spread rapidly across platforms like X and TikTok, with pixelated images showing the two indulging in reckless behavior, alluding to harm.
An insider revealed that the person in the photos was Issac, the general manager of the Allen Group.
The rumors spread like wildfire.
It was widely known that Issac was a playboy with countless girlfriends. But now, with intimate photos and visible injuries on his body, it didn’t take much for the public to realize the extent of his wild behavior.
At the Allen family Villa, Luna looked at the reports, furious, and quickly contacted public relations to handle the situation.
The timing was critical, with the Floral Island project being fought over. Such a scandal was detrimental, and with the growing public outcry, it wasn’t something money could easily suppress anymore.
In just one night, the topics surged, and it was obvious someone was stirring the por behind the scenes.
“Issac, how could you be so careless to have so many photos taken? And what about the injuries on your face and body? They’re serious,” said Luna.
Since his return, he had been lying down, and even the doctor was turned away. Luna looked at his wounds, her heart aching
with worry.
Issac’s face contorted in anger as he punched the bed. “Coby did this to me.”

But even a small movement caused excruciating pain in his face
“Again, it’s the Ford family,” said Luna.
The Ford family had always been against them. It wasn’t surprising they’d stir up trouble at a critical moment, but the strange part was who he had done this with.
Luna found out that the woman in the photos was Frances. “Why were you with Frances? Didn’t you kick her out?”
“Do you think I wanted that? I had no choice at the time.” He wanted Lia, and it must have been Coby who helped her out. Thinking of this, Issac felt murderous toward him.
Seeing her son’s agitation, Luna suppressed her own anger. “Right now, the most important thing is how we handle the public opinion.”
“Leave it to the public relations team. If they can’t handle it, they can all F*ck off, Issac screamed.
‘Coby, what you’ve done to me, I will repay tenfold. Just wait!”
Despite Allen Group’s best efforts to contain the scandal, it continued to spread, with negative news flooding in. Allen Group’s stock price dropped, and the board members were growing increasingly concerned.
Lia saw the reports and wasn’t surprised that things had turned out this way.
Coby, did you do this?” Issac’s actions should have been met with legal consequences.
“Take it slow. There will be more to come,” Coby pulled her into his arms, his cheek brushing hers. “Anyone who covers you will pay the price
Lia suddenly thought of Frances. “Frances was there too. Could they have.
“Don’t pity them, Lia. Don’t soften your heart,” said Coby..
The Allen family had deep roots in Brighton. It wouldn’t be easy to take them down, but Issac losing his position as general manager was just the beginning.
Lia nodded seriously. Some people could never change. She wasn’t a saint, nor did she have the mercy to be overly kind. What they did had consequences.
A few days later…
“Coby, wake up.” Lia gently tapped his face, and the man stretched out his long arm, pulling her back into his embrace “Lia, let’s sleep a little longer,” said Coby.
He had come home late from a social event yesterday and still hadn’t gotten enough of holding her.
There’s an early meeting.” She gently pushed against his chest.
He opened his eyes and kissed her rosy lips. “Postpone it.”
Hurry up, everyone’s waiting,” said Lia.
After spending so much time together, Lia realized that this man sometimes needed a little coaxing.

“Kiss me then, He smiled and pointed to his cheek, his gaze full of bold affection.
Lia chuckled softly and kissed his handsome face. “Is that enough?
“Here.” He pointed to his lips,
“You’re getting childish,” said Lia.
Since they’d confessed their feelings for each other, Lia noticed that this man had become even clingier. Sometimes he would act spoiled to tease her. She didn’t mind at all, in fact, she quite liked it.
Coby pinched her little face. “My mom says I need to act childish for me to love me more.”
“Did your dad do that to her as well? Lia couldn’t help but be curious. Coby’s dad was even more reserved than Coby- could he have done such things?
“What do you think. Lia?” Coby flipped over and pinned her down.
His dad was more clingy with his mom. He and Molly were their unexpected surprise.
Lia wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, this time as he had wanted.
“But we really should get to work,” she said.
Coby scooped her up. “Let’s go wash up together.”
In the bathroom, Lia squeezed the toothpaste and handed him the toothbrush, and he did the same for her.
“Thanks.” Lia took the toothbrush from his hand.
He tilted her chin and leaned down slightly. Thanks?”
Lia blushed and quickly kissed his face. “Sometimes it just slips out
He wouldn’t let her say thank you, and if she did, she’d have to give him a kiss.
“It’s fine. You can kiss me more, I like it.” Coby smiled cheekily, taking advantage of the situation.
“Hurry up and wash up.” Lia went back to doing her own thing.
He wrapped his arms around her soft waist, “Whatever you say, Honey.”
They arrived at the Ford Group.
“Lia, I’ve noticed you’ve been really happy lately, and you’re blushing easily.” After lunch, the group returned to the office, and Phoebe casually brought it up.
“Really?” Lia awkwardly touched her face, realizing she hadn’t noticed.
“And it’s so obvious.” Phoebe smiled and pointed to her neck. Without saying much, it was clear what she meant. Everyone around them was envious..
Lia awkwardly adjusted her collar. “This…” She didn’t know how to explain.
“Lia, is there good news?” Millie suddenly asked.
Just then, Owen passed by and overheard the conversation and came back with excitement. “Lia, are you expecting?”
Was Coby going to be a dad?

Owen was shocked. He had watched his boss falling in love and having a child. But he hadn’t even found a girlfriend himself.
“What? Lia is expecting?” Phoebe quickly looked at Lia’s flat belly and asked, “Lia, how many months along are you? Does the baby’s father know?”
“No, you’re getting way ahead of yourselves,” said Lia.
Lia finally realized how rumors spread. A simple comment, when passed on, could be completely misunderstood..
What was meant as good news had turned into rumors about he being pregnant, and Lia didn’t even know how it happened.
“I got it. You probably haven’t decided whether you want it or not Phoebe gave her a knowing look.
Lia helplessly said, “Phoebe, really, it’s not true.”
Coby came out of the office, looking for Owen, and saw the group gathered together-He curiously walked over.
“Lia, don’t worry, we won’t spread the news about you being pregnant.” Phoebe glanced at the others. Right?”
“No, L… Lia tried to explain.
“Who’s pregnant?” The sudden voice made everyone instinctively look over. Seeing who it was, they all fell silent and turned their eyes toward Lia.
Ela was ‘so embarrassed, she felt like she could crawl into a hole.
Is my wife pregnant? Coby’s heart soared as he casually said, “Cough, Lia, come to my office for a moment.”
After speaking, he slowly walked away, but no one noticed the smile curling at the corner of his lips.
“Yes, sir.” Lia felt helpless.
“This is bad, Lia just started, and if she’s pregnant, it’ll affect her work later. If Mr. Ford has a problem with it, she might even lose her job,” Millie said with concern.
“Lia, I’m sorry for exposing your privacy. I didn’t know Mr. Ford was coming. I have such a big mouth.” Phoebe realized the seriousness of the situation and slapped her own mouth.
“It’s fine, Phoebe, no problem.” Lia had to explain again. “But I’m really not pregnant”
“Lia isn’t pregnant?” Owen looked disappointed in his boss. It turned out he had overthought things.
“Mm, I’m going to the office now. Next time, remember, don’t talk about personal matters,” said Lia.
“Yes, Lia, go ahead.” Phoebe nodded quickly.
Lia walked to the office door. It wasn’t fully closed, so she knocked lightly before entering and closed it behind her,
“Mr. Ford,” she said.
Standing by the floor–to–ceiling window, the man turned and took her hand, guiding her to the sofa. His large hand gently stroked her flat belly as he softly asked, “Lia, are you pregnant?”
“No, they misunderstood. I tried explaining, but it didn’t help,” said Lia.
“Oh. The man sounded a bit disappointed.
Chapter 57
Lia felt awkward. “But we took precautions, didn’t we?”
There’s no way I could be pregnant, right?‘ she thought.
Coby confessed. That night, we didn’t. I was going to, but you didn’t want me to, so I didn’t,”
Lia’s face turned bright red. That was the night when she was drugged by
“It should be fine. It hasn’t been that long,” said Lia.
Coby didn’t care whether there was a baby right now. What mattered to him was whether she wanted a child that belonged to both of them. “But what if there is one? Do you want a baby,
A baby? Honestly, Lia had never thought about it. She had always thought that once he found someone he truly loved, they would divorce, and there would be no talk of babies, But now…
A shy smile appeared on Lia’s face. “Let’s just go with the flow,”
Having their baby and forming a family of three would be such a happy thing.
His lips curled up slightly, and he gently nuzzled her check. “T’d like to enjoy more time alone with you just the two of us.”
Lia softly teased. “But who knows.”
“Then should we still use condoms?” he asked.
Lia went speechless, not knowing how to answer that.
After a moment of silence, she hesitated and murmured, “It’s up to you
Coby kissed her forehead. “Let’s wait a little while, I don’t want a little one taking

my wife too soon.
He finally understood why his father always got upset when he saw him and Molly.
“Oh,” Lia said, indifferent. “Then I’ll leave now, Mr. Ford. You should rest.”
“Wait. The man grabbed her slim waist, not letting her leave. “You and your colleagues sure talk about a lot of interesting topics. Can I join you?”
“Mr. Ford, it’s better if you don’t join. Who would dare chat carelessly with the boss?” she said.
Whenever he appeared, everyone became serious. If they tried chatting, it would probably only be awkward.
Coby raised an eyebrow, picking her up. Then I can only talk to my wife.”
“Mr. Ford.” Lia exclaimed, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck. “What are you doing?”
“Shh, baby, come nap with me.” He carried her toward the resting room.
“They’ll catch us if we do this.” Lia poked his shoulder, trying to get him to put her down.
Coby didn’t stop walking, skillfully opened the door, and with a quick motion, kicked it closed behind them “Lia, are you still planning on keeping us a secret?” asked Coby.
He thought that after confessing their feelings, they could finally go public. But she wasn’t willing
Lia knew he wanted to go public, but the current situation wasn’t suitable. “Issac’s scandal just scandal, and the person involved is your secretary, it could harm the Floral Island project”

Coby understood the implication in her words. “So if we get the oral Island project, will you agree to go public?”
Lia paused for a few seconds, looking at him. “Coby, have you really made up your mind?”
Once they went public, they would face all sorts of public scrutiny. Their background and status didn’t match–this was a fact, something they couldn’t deny.
The man felt a pang of pity for her understanding. “It seems like haven’t done well enough. You still don’t trust me?”
His voice even carried a slight sense of grievance.
“I trust you,” Lia said urgently. I just think you should think it through:
“No one knows this better than I do. Gently placing her on the bed, the man leaned in and gazed into her autumn–like eyes.
“I don’t want you to call me Mr. Ford anymore. I want you to address me as Coby, your husband”
Lia’s heart stirred, and she couldn’t help but nod. “Okay”
He always knew how to put her mind at ease. He understood heroo well, and anyone who heard him would inevitably be moved.
“Baby, I’m serious about this,” he said.
“Okay,” Lia said honestly. “I can’t keep standing still, making you wait for me forever.”
“I’m willing to wait.” Coby slowly untied his tie, placing his hands on either side of her. “Tell me, baby, would you be willing to nap with your husband? I didn’t sleep well last night.”
“Mm.” She hesitated for a moment, teasing him deliberately. “Let me think about it?”
“Think about it?” He kissed her lips several times, then slowly moved his kiss downward,
Lia’s face turned crimson, and she held onto him. I don’t need to think. I’ll sleep with you.”
