Chapter 60
Lia thought to herself, that was probably the best pasta she’d ever tasted.
After the meal, Lia secretly snuck out of the office and bumped into Phoebe and Millie, who had just returned from lunch.
“Lia, you should go eat now. 111 cover for you, Phoche said enthusiastically.
“I just had some bread, I’m not hungry, Lia said awkwardly, touching her nose.
Millie looked puzzled. “Lia, why did you just come out of Mr. Ford office?
“Oh… Lia looked behind her. “I just delivered some documents
“So Mr. Ford didn’t have lunch either?” asked Millie.
“Mr. Ford really works hard.” Phoebe remarked.
“Uh, maybe.” Lia thought to herself, worried that she couldn’t keep the secret and would blurt it out. Sise always felt a little guilty about it.
“By the way. Lia, how about those photos? Aren’t they handsome? There are actually quite a few high–quality guys at that BBQ place. Phoebe specifically selected the best photos.
“Most of the people there are women, and the guys even grilled the meat for us. The smoke was everywhere.
“All that smoke and muscle, what a sight!” Millie said dreamily, clasping her hands together.
“Did any of them catch your eye? Lia asked with a smile, clearly interested in their conversation.
“No, Lia. This kind of guy is best admired from a distance, not boyfriend material,” said Millie.
“Yeah, they’re probably big and stupid,” said Phoebe.
“Who’s big and stupid?” asked Owen who was passing by.
“Crap, it’s Owen. Lia, I’ll go back to work now. Phoebe was afraid of saying something wrong, like last time when Mr. Ford overheard, so she decided to stay quiet.
“I’m going to take a lunch break. You two can talk. Millie also tried to say as little as possible.
Lia was left alone, and she also wanted to slip away.
“Lia, do they not want to talk to me? Am I that scary?” Owen asked, confused.
“No, Owen, they’re just busy with their own things. I’ll go ahead. See you in the afternoon,” said Lia.
“Okay, Lia, see you in the afternoon.” Owen felt a little sad. Was this the reason he had been single for so many years? Did he not understand the topics women talk about? Maybe he should ask the boss for advice.
In the evening, Lia attended a dinner with Coby. She was more of a peripheral figure, with Owen being the one actively engaging in the conversations.
When they arrived at the hotel, the others were already waiting.
“Mr. Ford, hello, thank you for taking the time to meet with us. A tall, slim man greeted them enthusiastically.
“Mr. Denis, you’re too kind.” Coby nodded slightly.

Chapter 60
Lia stood behind him, watching them exchange pleasantries smoothly.
Many deals were sealed at dinner, and their secretaries just needed to take notes or provide service.
The man’s gaze fell on Lia, and he was surprised to see her. Sming, he said, “Lia, nice to see you again”
“Hello, Mr. Denis Lia responded with a composed smile.
Coby wasn’t surprised by their familiarity. After all, Lia had worked at Allen Group before and had appeared at many events.
“You know my secretary?” he asked,
“We’ve met a few times. You’re really lucky, Mr. Ford, Mr. Denis Raid, half–joking.
No wonder this woman wasn’t accepting his pursuit. It seemed she had already found a better partner. Mr. Denis was annoyed but kept it to himself.
If he offended Mr. Ford, the deal could fall through.
Coby smiled without saying anything, reading the unspoken tension in the man’s eyes.
Lia had worked as a secretary at Allen Group, and she had dealings with Mr. Denis. He was clever, the type of person who said what others wanted to hear.
Lia didn’t have a good impression of him, especially after witnessing him making moves on his own secretary.
It was well–known that secretaries often faced inappropriate behavior when accompanying their bosses to events, and Lia had faced this herself in the past. At that time, Issac had simply watched and done nothing.
Now, at Ford Group, such things were rare, and even if they happened, everyone would keep their distance, especially with Coby around.
Lia had long decided that once she earned enough money, she’d quit being a secretary and open a small shop–enough to support herself.
She hadn’t told him about this, and wasn’t sure if he’d support it
Lia kept her composure at the dinner. Mr. Denis got drunk, got up, and walked over to her.
“Lia, let me offer you a toast,” he said.
Lia stood up respectfully. “Mr. Denis, I should be the one offering the toast to you.”
Noticing Coby’s expression, Owen quickly rushed over with his drink.
“Mr. Denis, I’ll also offer a toast to you,” he said.
Mr. Denis was irritated but didn’t show it.
“Come, Lia, let’s drink,” said Mr. Denis.
Owen was sweating for Mr. Denis, who clearly didn’t notice the tense atmosphere.
Hesitant but not wanting to cause a scene, Lia was about to drink when Coby took the glass from her hand. “Mr. Denis, I’ll drink with you
Clearly unaware of the mood, Mr. Denis ignored the people around him and said, “Mr. Ford, you’re truly generous. Let’s
drink.”
Chapter 60
Coby drank the entire glass without a change in expression. “Me Denis, I have business to attend to. I’ll excuse myself
Mr. Denis’s secretary and staff were stunned. The deal wasn’t even finalized, and now he was leaving.
Denis let out a loud burp. “Mr. Ford, you’re leaving already?”
He glanced at Lia, and suddenly understood, smirking lasciviously. “Mr. Ford, are you eager for bed? How does Lia’s taste? After being by Issac’s side for so long, her skills should be…”
The people around them changed their expressions at the filthy words, but Denis didn’t seem to realize it.
Bang!
Before he could finish his sentence, a punch sent him to the ground.
Denis’s entourage was stunned, and Denis himself screamed in pain, suddenly sober from the alcohol.
“Mr. Ford, what’s going on?” His mouth was full
blood, and he looked gruesome.
Lia was anxious and didn’t want to escalate the situation. She tugged on the man’s sleeve, whispering, “Coby, let’s go.”
“Wait for me, This time, he didn’t listen to her.
Coby walked over expressionlessly and stepped on his face. “Denis, the cooperation is terminated.”
“Mr. Ford, L…” Denis dared not speak out in anger. He looked at his subordinates, signaling them to do something, but no one dared to step forward. They all kept their heads down.
“Remember, Lia is mine. If you speak out of line again, you’ll end up like this bottle,” said Coby.
Trembling with fear, Denis waved his hand. “Mr. Ford, please…”
Bang!
A bottle of liquor was smashed over his head, and blood started pouring down. Denis’s eyes rolled back, and he passed out
cold.
No one expected this situation would cause the general manager of Ford Group to physically attack someone. Denis’s assistant and secretary were too scared to move. With their boss unconscious, they dared not say a word.
Coby threw the bottle aside and pulled Lia out of the scene. “Let go home.”
His voice was so gentle that it almost made everyone believe the man who had just spoken so harshly wasn’t the same
person.
After they left, the others gathered around Owen, frantically asking, “Owen, what should we do?”
Owen shrugged. “Try finding another job. Don’t stay at Denis Group. He could only offer advice
After all, it wasn’t a good idea to provoke Coby’s wife. The Denis Group was finished.
Owen had learned his lesson, but he didn’t have that kind of power.
Lia felt frustrated at ruining the cooperation. “Coby.”
Coby stopped walking, realizing his earlier outburst had upset her. He embraced her and gently patted her back. “Sorry, did
I scare you.
Lia?”
Lia shook her head. “No.” He was more concerned about her being scared than about the business, which made her feel a

ittle emotional.
He looked at her. “I shouldn’t have brought you here?
Lia understood his protective instincts, but as a secretary, part her role was to accompany the boss to social events. If the
of didn’t participate, her work would lose meaning-
“It’s not like that. I should’ve joined, it’s just…” said Lia.
Just that you didn’t want me to handle it this way: Coby understood her. “But I won’t change my stance on him. Why didn’t you tell me about him?”
“I thought personal issues shouldn’t interfere with work.” She hadn’t expected Denis to make such bold comments while
drunk.
Coby was angry that she was careless. “Did you expect me to listen to him insult you?”
“I… Lia couldn’t find the words.
He looked angry. “You’re my wife, my love. If I can’t protect you, what right do I have to say I love you and want to be with
you?
“I don’t need you to swallow your pride. Even in the workplace, you should stand up for yourself. I’m here for you. understand?”
Lia realized her mistake and, without making excuses, apologized. “Coby, I’m sorry”
“What’s there to apologize for? Lia, do you want to break my heart?” His anger dissipated as he was moved by her words.
Her unwillingness to trouble others had kept her from seeking his help. Her lack of confidence stemmed from the insecurity he hadn’t given her.
“Our positions are equal. I can be humbled, but you cannot. Youge the woman I cherish above all, and no one can hurt you? said Coby.
Lia’s eyes filled with tears. She didn’t realize how much his words had shaken her soul.
He was trying to move on from the past, leaving old things behind. She had promised she wouldn’t stand still, but sometimes, it felt like she hadn’t moved at all.
“I’m afraid I’ll become spoiled by your love,” said Lia
He had given her more than she could ever ask for.
“Why shouldn’t you? I’ll spoil you and embrace all your flaws, whether you’re acting spoiled, calm, or angry. I want your life to be more than just enduring. I want you to follow your heart and see me as your husband, not as your boss.
“When something happens, I want you to think of me first. Even when nothing’s wrong, think of me. In your eyes, there’s only me. And I won’t have anyone else in my heart besides you.
“I don’t care about others, but you are the woman I love. No matter when, I’m on your side. Even if you’ve committed a crime, I’ll take the blame for you,” Coby said sincerely.
Coby really wanted to lecture her more, but he couldn’t bear to see her sorry face.
Lia was deeply moved. She couldn’t bear seeing him so humble. But what if I lie to you?”
“Why lie? Whatever you want, I’ll just give it to you,” said Coby.

Chapter 601
This man was love–struck, and tia couldn’t handle it. She felt so guilty inside.
“I won’t do that again, but I don’t want your pity. Coby, we are equals. She hugged him tightly.
“From now on, if you say sorry again. I’ll smack your bottom. I threatened.
Lia’s face tumed red, and shaded around at the passersby.”
the middle of the street?”
Coby held her slim waist and pulled her closer. “So what if it’s in the street? I want to kiss you too?
“No.” Lia covered her face, trying to avoid it.
“This is your punishment. Coby teased.
“Coby, stop joking around. Lia laughed.
She was still caught in his grasp.
Back to Skyview Villa, Lia was punished for earlier. The man tied her hands with a tie.
“Coby, I was wrong” Lia looked at him pitifully.
Coby slowly started unbuttoning his shirt. “Wrong about what?”
“I shouldn’t have kept it from you,” she said.
He’s seducing me, ‘Lia thought.
Click, he unbuckled his belt and continued to take off his pants. “What else?”
“I shouldn’t have said sorry,” she said.
He was wearing purple boxer shorts.
The man got onto the bed and lay next to her, “And?”
“Anything else?” Lia couldn’t think of anything else, her thoughts focused entirely on his bare body.
He propped his body up with one arm, turning to look at her. “What should you have done?*
Lia swallowed quietly. “I should’ve listened to my husband.”
Upon hearing the word “husband“, his lips curled up faintly.
“Ouch” Lia pouted. “Not on my neck.”
His large hand slid down her slender back, his fingers touching the clasp of her bra.
He smiled lightly, his gaze returning to her small face, and kissed her soft lips before untying her hands and straightening
her clothes.
“Goby.” She didn’t understand why he stopped.
“Lia, let’s play a game. Coby lifted her up and sat her on his lap. Lia squirmed awkwardly.
He grunted softly. “Lia, let’s play the game first.”
“What game?” Lia looked at him and obediently sat still.

“Rock, Paper, Scissors with the tongue. He had Googled this to spice up their relationship
I’ve never heard of this one.” Lia felt embarrassed.
He kissed her red lips, and Lis looked at him in surprise. “Aren’t we playing a garner
“That just now was Scissors,” he said seriously.
Lia was confused.
“Rock is keeping your mouth closed, Paper is lightly opening your mouth” Coby explained the rules.
Lia listened closely.
“Here we go.
Lia slightly parted her lips, about to speak when his soft lips came close.
“Lia, you lost.”
She wasn’t ready and lost. Lia helplessly said, “Oh.”
He smiled sweetly. “Lia, losers have to be punished.”
“What’s the punishment?”
The punishment is…” Coby lay obediently on the bed, waiting for her next move. “You have to be the queen.”
Does that mean I can… Lia boldly thought.
“Show me, Lia” He encouraged from the side.
Lia took a deep breath, hesitated for a moment, and then picked up his tie.
He raised an eyebrow, looking forward to it.
