Chapter 62
“Honey, what do you think is the important thing our son was talking about?” asked Quinn.
Quinn was annoyed that he kept it a secret but also happy. Finally, she didn’t have to hide anything anymore. She couldn’t wait to go back and brag to her best friends that her son had found a girlfriend.
“Didn’t you already guess? Bruce had known his son wouldn’t be able to hold it in for long.
He wasn’t too interested. He just wanted his son to take over soon so he could spend more time with his wife.
Quinn looked at her quiet husband and couldn’t help but say. “Tope my future grandkids won’t be boring like you! You’re no fun to talk to.”
Frowning, the more she thought about it, the more worried she became. “No, I’ll have to personally raise my grandchild.”
This made Bruce uneasy. “We’re getting older. We should enjoy our time together”
He had just retired and didn’t want to take care of another child.
“We’re already an old couple. Why do we need so much time alone?” Quinn blushed, stealing a glance at her husband. But aren’t they already living in their own little world?
She almost forgot–this man was so clingy. Back then, he even got jealous of their two kids and didn’t let her breastfeed. Because of that, she ignored him for a long time.
“Quinn, I fall in love again with you every day. Bruce’s eyes were full of affection, just like when they were young.
“Stop it, you only say that because you know it makes me happy Quinn giggled.
Quinn knew how hard it was for him to say sweet things. Every time he did, she would be happy for a long time.
She couldn’t help. She just loved him so much.
Everyone followed the boss’s gaze, their eyes falling on Lia, their minds filled with questions. What does the important. thing that Mr. Ford mentioned have to do with Lia?‘
“Recently, there have been many rumors about me and Lia” Coby scanned the room, speaking calmly. I’m here to officially confirm that Lia and I are in a relationship.”
His words shocked everyone present.
The onlookers started whispering Their boss had just admitted to having a girlfriend–right in front of his parents, no less.
It meant that his family had accepted her as well.
Coby had anticipated the gossip and continued. “Also, it was me who pursued Lia. If anyone spreads false rumors about her, they’ll bear the consequences.”
“Wow!”
The room erupted into applause.
Everyone understood the implied meaning. Their boss was defending his girlfriend so no one would speak ill of her again.
Phoebe and Millie stared at each other in disbelief.
“Millie, did I hear that right?” Phoebe tugged at her ear.

“I think so?” She heard it too everyone heard it.
“Wow, Lia’s boyfriend is actually Mr. Ford How could they not have noticed?
“Right, Lia’s boyfriend is Mr. Ford, awww!‘ Millie jumped around like a crazy person.
“Oh my god!” Phoebe was on the verge of exploding.
Under everyone’s gaze, Coby handed the microplione to Owend walked toward Lia.
He extended his hand, gazing at her gently.
“Lia, let’s step outside for some air.” They should have some time alone now.
“Lia, hurry up and go!” Molly urged more anxiously than Lia.
Lia was a little nervous, but seeing the affection in his eyes, she gathered the courage to place her hand in his.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, they left together.
The celebration turned into their public announcement.
The two of them arrived at the wetland park. Lia gazed at the night sky, still feeling the excitement from earlier.
They were now open about their relationship. From now on, they no longer needed to hide.
He wrapped his big hand around her small waist, pulling her close from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder.
“Lia.” His face nuzzled against hers. I originally planned to announce our marriage, but I haven’t proposed yet, and we haven’t had our wedding”
“Coby.” Lia turned around, hugging his lean waist and resting her head on his chest. “It doesn’t matter.”
In just a few months, they had gone from meeting to marriage to making it public. It all felt unbelievable to her.
He gave her the love and care she had never received from anyone except Layla. His kindness and attentiveness moved her over and over.
She was already so lucky.
Coby lifted her chin and gazed into her moist eyes. “For me, it matters. I want you to be cherished. I want my wife to be the happiest woman in the world.
“If I don’t do these things, or choose to ignore them, what’s the difference between me and the man we met on Skyview Mountain that day?”
Coby didn’t want to settle. He wanted to turn these important moments into beautiful memories for them in the future.
“Our wedding is delayed, not skipped. I won’t let that happen to you,” said Coby.
Lia recalled the man on Skyview Mountain. His failed proposal was because he didn’t value his girlfriend enough, thinking it was something he could easily get, believing everything was in his control.
When you love someone, you
must
care about their feelings and provide them with a sense of security.
Lia felt a warmth in her eyes and sniffed. “I really want to say thank you, but I know I shouldn’t, but…
She stood on tiptoe, wrapped her arms around his neck, and whispered in his car, “Thank you for valuing me, Coby. I love you.”

“I love you too.” He held her slender waist, his gaze full of affection. “But you just said thank you, what should I do now?
Lia laughed at his teasing. “Then what do you want to do?
“Your punishment will be three kisses.” He gently kissed her forehead. “One.”
Then he kissed her cheek. “Two,”
His pale fingers lifted her delicate chin, his gaze lingering on her soft lips.
Lia sensed his intentions and, embarrassed, slipped out of his arms. “Coby, let’s go back.”
After saying that, she ran off
Coby laughed and chased after her, quickly pulling her back into his arms. “Got you, Lia.”
“There are so many people, stop it.” Lia poked his waist, warning him
“Okay, I won’t tease you. He obediently listened but, taking advantage of her carelessness, quickly placed a kiss on her lips.
Lia quickly covered her red lips, blinking her shy, big eyes. “That’s cheating!”
“Then you can kiss me back.” He bent down, bringing his face closer to hers.
Lia looked at his handsome face so close and couldn’t help but pinch it.
Is that all?” Now it was his turn to be dissatisfied.
Her little hand slid into his large one as she led him outside.
“Honey, let’s go home,” said Lia.
Those few words made the man feel over the moon.
Home, their home.
At the celebration party, the general manager of the Ford Group publicly admitted he had a girlfriend, sparking widespread discussion.
The important thing was, his girlfriend wasn’t just anyone–she was Lia, who had transferred from Allen Group to Ford Group.
Some said Lia was skilled at managing two men, handling them with ease.
Others said Coby had been abroad for years, unfamiliar with her, and had been tricked.
But most people still thought Coby was just playing around with her. After all, their social status didn’t match, and some even found out that Lia was an orphan. In this context, no one believed they would last.
But Coby, one of the parties involved, went into a full–on public display of affection mode.
When she went to the cafeteria, he followed her.
Now, the higher–ups avoided the cafeteria on the twelfth floor and went to the one on the second floor instead.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Lia was now walking freely through Ford Group. Everyone greeted her and clearly flattered her.

She had thought about this situation, but when it actually happened, she still felt a little uneasy.
“Oh my God, Mr. Ford and Lia are together! Isn’t this like a real–life Cinderella story?”
“It’s Mr. Ford! Not just any man. Our Mr. Ford is a man who even rejected many wealthy young ladies.”
Several women were gossiping about it in the restroom.
Coincidentally, Lia ran into them.
Actually, it wasn’t just in the restroom. Almost every step she took, people gave her strange looks.
This was normal, since people love gossip.
“How does Lia have such charm? I’m so jealous.”
“Why don’t I have such luck?”
“Hah, we can barely even see his face. How could we have that kind of luck?”
“But other assistants who see him every day aren’t the ones he’s chosen, right?”
“Besides, Lia is already beautiful. Her skin is so fair and smooth, and her figure is great.”
“We’re sitting in the same office, but our bellies are big and round, while she’s got her curves in all the right places. I’m a woman, I can’t help but admire her.”
“Exactly, I’m so envious”
“What do you guys think, how long has Mr. Ford been interested in Lia? Do you think it’ll fade like with those rich young men, after a while, they’ll lose interest?”
“I think it might.”
“Maybe Lia climbed her way up, forcing Mr. Ford to go public with her pregnancy.”
“But Lia doesn’t seem like that kind of person, right?”
“You can know a person’s face, but not their heart.”
After using the restroom, Lia came out confidently.
“Lia.” The women who had been talking lowered their heads, frightened.
After washing her hands, Lia walked out while saying, “You guys want to bet on how long we’ll be together?”
The others turned pale and fell silent.
She suddenly stopped at the door and looked at them. “By the way, I’m not pregnant at the moment. Just so you don’t spread rumors about it. But Mr. Ford is working hard on it, in case you’re interested.”
After saying that, she smiled and left.
The few left behind were stunned.
“Who was talking nonsense just now?”
“It wasn’t me. I just said Lin has a good figure.”
Chapter 62
“It wasn’t me either. I was just admiring Lia’s skirt.”
“It was me, what should I do? Do you think Lia will take revenge on me?”
“What should we do? It was me who said Lia was pregnant.”
A few of them looked at her with some sympathy. “You’re in trouble. Do you think Lia will report you?”
“I don’t think so. Have you all heard about the last time someone offended Lia? When Mr. Ford found out, he directly fired
them”
“Why didn’t you say so earlier?”
“I only heard about it. Who knows if it’s true?”
“What should we do? Should we apologize to Lia? I don’t want to lose my job.”
The women were really worried, afraid they might get fired.
Lia sat back down and hesitated, wondering if she should tell the man.
“Lia, what’s Wrong?” asked Coby.
“Nothing, just eat,” she replied.
Coby noticed she had something on her mind and had a pretty good idea what it was.
After dinner, Lia was called to the office.
He trapped Lia in his arms, playing with her small hand.
“Lia has something on her mind.” It wasn’t a question, but a statement.
Lia placed his hand on her waist, having already thought about this issue before deciding to make it public. She just hadn’t brought it up, but since he asked, she wasn’t going to hesitate anymore.
“Coby, I want to resign.” Lia knew that working together had more downsides than benefits. Even though they knew their relationship wasn’t an issue, others didn’t see it that way.
Once their relationship was public, she would inevitably gain privileges. Even if her position didn’t change, everyone who saw her would think of him and offer convenience in their work, That wasn’t something either of them wanted.
Resigning didn’t mean stopping work. She could still do other things.
“Lia, have you really decided?” Coby wasn’t surprised by her thoughts.
Lia thought he might ask why, but he didn’t. “Coby, why don’t you ask me why?”
The man stroked her cheek with his finger. “If we go public, your situation would be awkward. A lot of things can’t just be ignored. Also, I selfishly don’t want you to keep being a secretary
Lia didn’t get a chance to speak.
He lightly touched her lips with his index finger. “Lia, it’s not that I don’t acknowledge your abilities. On the contrary, I believe your potential goes beyond this.
“Some of your proposals for the Floral Island project weren’t accepted, but your idea for Scent of Summer really caught my
attention.”

Chapter 62
Lia’s final suggestion was to create a perfume called “Scent of Summer based on the flowers from Floral Island.
“Lia, do you know the brand S&C?” he asked.
Lia nodded. “Fragrance and perfume?
She had heard of it but never used it. S&C wasn’t a very well–received brand..
“Right now, S&C survives mainly on nostalgia. It’s not bankrupt, but you know, Ford Group acquired this brand,” said Coby,
“Mm.” Lia had previously wondered why Ford Group would acquire a brand that wasn’t making money.
Later, she found out that Quinn loved S&C perfumes, and it was the first gift her father had given her. So, when the brand was close to going under, Ford Group invested in acquiring it.
When you proposed ‘Scent of Summer. ‘I thought of having you work in fragrance. Floral Island is a couple’s paradise, and if we collaborate with Floral Island, we can make this work. Our target market would be ordinary people…” Coby explained his idea.
Lia felt touched in her heart. He knew everything, supported her thoughts, and even considered things from a longer–term perspective.
“But I don’t know anything, I’m worried…” said Lia.
“No one succeeds on the first try. Believe in yourself. The Floral Island project is just beginning, and tourism won’t happen overnight. It’s a matter of years, maybe even longer. My worry is something else.” And precisely because of that, he hadn’t mentioned it.
“What are you worried about?” asked Lia.
He cupped her face, his warm breath grazing her soft skin.
“I’m worried that as time goes on, we’ll have less time together, and your heart won’t be with me anymore,” said Coby.
Lia bit back a smile. “Then what should we do?”
“So I’ve decided that whenever I have time, I’ll be with my wife. We’ll spend a lot of time loving each other, playing a lot of games if you know what I mean.”
She was both embarrassed and annoyed, lightly punching his shoulder. “Coby!”
