Chapter 9
Slowly, she stopped resisting.
Her body relaxed, and she clutched his shirt,
After a while, he finally pulled back and said, “Yep, no fever anymore.”
Lia was out of breath. She took a while to calm down before saying, “L.. I’ll go clean up.”
“Okay,” He let her go, watching her tidy up comfortably. “Need alp?”
“No, you sit down,” said Lia. His presence made her feel flustered
Lia suddenly remembered she hadn’t poured Coby a glass of water, so she put down what she was holding and went to get
some.
“Drink some water. Not bored, are you? Want to watch TV?” asked Lia.
Coby thought her flustered look was cute. He took the cup of water from her and had a sip.
She turned on the TV, and, coincidentally, it just happened to show a scene of a guy and girl kissing.
Coby cleared his throat. “You like watching stuff like this?”
Lia felt like disappearing and quickly denied it. “No, no, it’s just random, forget it, you pick the channel.
She handed him the remote, and Coby casually said, “They were doing a kabedon slam just now.”
“Oh Lia responded quietly, not sure why he would bring that up
“Do all women like this?” he asked, sounding curious.
Lia nervously grabbed at the hem of her shirt. How would she know what other women like?
“Maybe?” After answering, she started cleaning up again.
Coby walked behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and his breath brushed her neck–soft and ticklish. “Lia, do you like it?”
Her body stiffened, and her pale face turned bright red.
“I’m okay.” She wasn’t sure if she liked it. “Coby, I still haven’t finished cleaning up.”
“Let’s try it, okay?” suggested Coby.
“Try what?” asked Lia.
Before she could finish, he pinned her to the wall, putting one hand beside her.
“Hurk…” She couldn’t stop coughing.
Coby’s eyes flashed with a smile. “Drink some water.” He handed her a cup of warm water.
“Thanks.” Lia felt really thirsty and just grabbed the cup and drank without thinking.
She tilted her head back a little, her red lips parted, and her fair neck looked so pretty. He suddenly felt thirsty, too.

When she finished. Lia realized it was the same cup she had poted for him earlier.
“Sorry, I’ll pour you a fresh one. Her face went red with embarrassment.
74%
“No big deal. Take a rest. I’ll go pour it,” He took the cup, and Lia fried to stop him, but he had already gone to refill it and ven drank from it in front of her.
They were sharing the same cup
“What are you thinking? He grinned as he came back over.
“… I’ll rest for a bit.” Lia quickly sat down on the little stool.
“Let’s watch TV?” He asked, now asking her instead..
“No, thanks.” Lia shook her head.
Coby lazily sat down on the small sofa and patted his lap. “Lia, come over here
Lia said. “I’m good here.”
“Let’s watch TV together.” He then switched the channel.
Lia hesitated for a moment, then grabbed the small stool and sat next to him.
Coby lifted her from the stool and onto his lap.
“Coby…” She stared at him in shock.
“I thought you were used to this, but our closeness still makes you uneasy.” He pointed it out.
“Tll try.” She lowered her gaze.
She stayed sitting on his lap, her body stiff, and his arms wrapped around her waist.
The TV was airing a dating reality show about couples on dates. La thought it was something women would enjov. but surprisingly, Coby was watching it with full attention.
“Going to movies, shopping, traveling, trying street food… Lia, is that what dates are like for couples?” He suddenly asked.
“I guess so.” She wasn’t sure either.
“Okay.” He answered softly.
After the show ended, Lia said, “I’ll go tidy up now.”
“Okay.” He said.
Lia didn’t have much to pack, other than a suitcase. She probably wouldn’t stay long, and if she needed more, she could always come back for it
When Coby saw she was only carrying one suitcase, he furrowed his brow a little and took it from her.
Lia said, “Coby, I can carry it”
Coby said, “If you’re not feeling well, don’t push it. Take care of yourself.”
Lia pulled her hand back and said, “Okay.”
Chapter 9
Inside the car, Lia was still leaning against the door.
Coby was resting with his eyes closed.
Most of the time, it was just silence, but occasionally he’d ask a few questions, and tia would answer.
“Why did you leave Allen Group?” he asked.
“I wanted to leave, Lia said plainly, thinking it was time to go.
After that, he didn’t ask anything else.
The car pulled into the villa, and Lia followed him out.
“Sir.” The butler immediately came to greet them.
Coby ordered, “Take Ms. Phillips luggage to my bedroom
The butler said, “Yes, sir.”
That was clear enough–he knew that the new girl had a special relationship with Coby.
Lia kept her head down as she followed him, not looking at anyone, but she could feel eyes on her. There was a
no avoiding it.
She thought he might put her in a separate room, or maybe call for her later like a king with his concubine, but no her in his own room.
That meant they were living together–not just for one night, but every night,
Is he thinking too highly of me?‘ thought Lia
Back in the room, Lia finally had a chance to talk to Coby.
Coby took off his coat, and Lia instinctively took it from him. I do it.”
She walked over to him, gently touching his tie. He looked down, his lashes fluttering a little.
Lia was so focused on what she was doing, she didn’t even realize he was watching her.
-he pur
“Coby” She skillfully untied his tic, and when she looked up, she was caught by his deep gaze. Her heart skipped a beat, and she took a step back.
“What’s on your mind?” He saw her reaction and there was a hint of displeasure in his eyes.
“Coby, you could let me stay in the maid’s room. If I stay here, Lmight be a bother to you, suggested Lia.
She was just an outsider in his bedroom, and she’d worked at Allen Group before.
‘Isn’t he worried about me stealing secrets? Is he trusting me too much? thought Lia.
Coby lightly tapped her nose. “What would it affect? Is it your charm making me lose focus and just think about what’s between us instead?”
He was joking. Lia’s face turned red, and she quickly said, “I mean, sometimes I might bother you.”
“The maid’s room? You want me to treat you like a maid?” asked Coby.
“I kind of am,” Lia admitted, knowing her place.

Coby grabbed her handtand pulled her closer. “We have plenty of maids here. Should I sleep with all of them
Lia was speechless, thinking, How could he say muff like that?
“I’m going to unpack,” she said.
He let go of her hand. “Put your stuff in the wardrobe, and bring me a pair of pajamas. I’m going to take a shower.”
“Okay,” Lia nodded
And that was the end of that conversation.
Liaw
a wheeled her suitcase in
into the walk–in closet. It was huge, with a U–shape and even a separate room for ties.
One side of the U was empty. ‘Did he leave it like that on purpose? Probably just a coincidence, thought Lia
After setting the suitcase down, Lia started picking out his pajamas. Coby had a ton of them, all in dark colors. She just grabbed a random one
Then, she remembered he was probably going to need underclothes too, since he was taking a shower.
She opened a drawer but didn’t find anything. So she opened another
rone
Finally, she opened the drawer next to it and found a bunch of bras that still had the tags on them.
Lia quickly closed the drawer. “How does a grown man have those things in his house?‘ thought she.
But then again, since he was a normal guy, having them didn’t seem so strange after all.
Lia stopped overthinking it and just did what she should do
She found his boxers in another drawer.
She zoned out for a second, closed her eyes, and grabbed one at random, wrapping it up in his pajamas. She walked up to the bathroom door and lightly knocked
“Coby, here’s what you wanted,” she said.
“Come in.” Coby only said those two words. Lia froze for a second, then opened the door and walked in.
The room was full of steam, and Lia stood by the door. “I’ll just leave them here.”
The water suddenly stopped, and her heart skipped a beat.
Coby quickly stood up, water dripping down his toned body.
. He shook his wet hair and casually stepped out of the tub.
“You want to wash too?” asked he
“I’ll wash later.” Lia instinctively turned around, quickly putting his pajamas down, then started to walk away.
‘Let’s wash together, said Coby.
Lia refused, “I didn’t bring my pajamas. I’ll wash later.”
He wrapped himself around her from behind, his chest pressing against her back, soaking her T–shirt,
“Your clothes are wet; you should wash first.” He turned her around, and Lia shivered a little.

“Cold again?” he asked gently
“No.” Lia didn’t dare look at him.
“You’re shaking. Go wash up” he urged her.
“… Lia stammered.
“Take off the wet clothes. You’re still sick.” He said this while starting to help her take her clothes off.
Lia panicked and said, “Til do it myself.
He pulled back his hand but kept watching her.
After a moment, noticing how uncomfortable she was, he said kindly, “I’ll step out. Take your time.”
“Okay” Lia let out a big sigh of relief. He noticed her little movements and couldn’t help but smile.
He had brought her pajamas and even made sure to grab her underclothes.
He didn’t seem awkward at all; the only one feeling awkward was her.
When Lia came out of the shower, he was reading, his bangs nearly styled, looking like he was back in high school.
She remembered how he used to be back then–cold and distant like he didn’t want anyone to get close.
She never imagined they’d end up like this.
It turned out that he was super passionate during sex-
He noticed she’d been looking at him for a while and kind of liked it.
“Come here,” he said without looking up.
Lia slowly walked over. “Coby.”
Coby ordered. “Sit.”
Her long hair fell loose, making her small face look even more delicate. Her pajamas had a cute cartoon design, nothing too revealing.
Lia sat next to him, quietly.
He looked at the space between them. “Lia”
“Hmm?” She looked at him..
He said, “Sit closer to me
Lia sat by his side, staring ahead and not looking anywhere else.
“So, every night from now on, you plan to treat
me like this? Don’t be shy; just do whatever you want, Coby said
“Oh. Lia pulled out her phone and started scrolling through videos on TikTok, bored.
They were still strangers to each other. They weren’t a couple, so there was no touching or small talk, just a bit of awkwardness.
Lia usually watched funny videos to shake off the bad vibes from the day. The next day, everything started fresh again, both

in life and work.
“Not listening to the sound? Coby asked.
“There are subtitles, replied Lia.
Coby said, “Turn it on, don’t worry about me
“Okay.” Lia still kept the volume as low as possible, so it wouldn’t disturb hirm while he was reading
But he stopped reading and just picked her up.
“Coby.” Lia noticed he liked to do things out of the blue, always catching her off guard.
Tm tired, so let’s sleep,” he said lazily.
“Okay.” Lia lay on the inside, her back to him. He was on the outle, and he turned her soft body toward him.
She looked at him with her big eyes, and he noticed her shyness
“From now on, when we sleep, face me,” Coby said.
“Okay,” said Lia.
He hugged her again. He really seemed to love holding her
Lia had always slept alone. Suddenly having to sleep with someone she wasn’t really familiar with–especially a man–made
her feel uneasy and nervous. Coby’s strong desire were overwhelming her, and her body was stiff as a board.
“Go to sleep. I won’t touch you tonight. His voice came from above, soft and calm.
She relaxed a little.
We’ll make love once you recover,” he added.
This sentence made Lia speechless.
