Chapter 23
As Isabella walked with Douglas, she remembered Olivia’s advice and asked, “Do you want to eat something?”
Douglas seemed a bit out of it, barely holding himself together. He shook his head. Upon entering the brightly lit room, he headed upstairs without even a word.
Isabella felt certain that he must, have encountered something really bad today and replied to
Olivia’s words.
“I’ll go upstairs and see if Xavier wants to eat something,” Olivia said, quickly heading up.
In the end, Isabella finished the late–night snack all by herself.
As the clock approached midnight, her phone chimed repeatedly. She had just finished her shower and was drying her hair when she picked up her phone to check.
Liam had added her to a group chat called “Striving Together“. The chat was already buzzing with over a hundred messages, and new ones kept popping up.
They were all welcoming her into the group, and since she hadn’t spoken yet, the conversation had taken a wild turn, jumping from life philosophy to retirement plans.
Amid the chatter, someone had tagged her, encouraging her to say, a few words.
Isabella quickly typed a message.
Izzy: Hi, everyone!
Someone replied almost immediately.
Black Knight: You finally spoke up! Welcome!
Within moments, the chat was bombarded with a flurry of messages,
Isabella felt a bit flustered but continued to entertain them. Then, she received another new message from Liam, who sent her a contact number. This person would be the point of contact for their upcoming collaboration.
He shared several game character design proposals and mentioned that everyone in the group was involved in this project and encouraged her to reach out anytime.
JW was planning to create a game targeted at a male audience, marking their first collaboration with them.
Since the project required a significant focus on male elements, Isabella had initially considered having Theodore take charge. However, JW insisted on her involvement, which made her wonder if she had some kind of charm that she wasn’t aware of.

Liam instructed her to consult this person with any questions moving forward.
The contact he provided seemed to have quite a personality. His profile picture was entirely black, and his nickname was just Black Dot. The self–introduction was blank except for one detail that identified him as male.
Without hesitation, she sent a message to him. Hello, I’m Isabella, the person in charge of Myndra Creations.”
Over ten minutes passed, and she hadn’t gotten a reply. Guessing that the person was probably asleep, she reviewed the files Liam had sent, turned off the lights, and prepared for bed.
Suddenly, there were a few knocks at the door.
Feeling too lazy to turn the lights back on, she got out of bed barefoot and went to open the door. As she opened it, the light flooded in, brightening up half the room.
Xavier stood silhouetted against the light, casually leaning against the doorframe.
She took a step back. “What do you want?”
His gaze shifted from her alert expression to her bare feet.
Isabella felt extremely uncomfortable as if she had been exposed, but she forced herself to act nonchalant.
“Put on your shoes,” he said blandly.
“If you need something, just say it.” She wasn’t going to take his advice.
With a blank expression, he reached behind him and brought out something wrapped in white gauze, handing it to her.
“Mom said you always like to blast the air conditioning, which makes you susceptible to dampness. She asked me to give you this to stick on your feet while you sleep.”
