Chapter 16
Marina’s POV.
I was not quite clear on it.
The booth of the car?
Why?
He stared blankly at me. “Didn’t I say I do not like to repeat myself?”
“But Alpha… why? At least tell me why?“.
He said in a dominating tone, “Do not make me repeat myself.”
I swallowed hard.
With that stare on his face, I assured myself everything would be alright and turned to the back. The lid was already open and he had laid a towel on it. Some snacks had been kept in the back, he also kept a bottle of water.
“Make yourself at home.” He pointed.
With a look of disappointment, I placed my hand on the towel and crawled in. He waited till I was done and closed the lid.
“Stay quiet, will you,” before he smacked the surface and left.
It was dark and it was moist. My body was in shock.
I felt suffocated for a second.
The air was stiff.
I had not yet registered why I was in there and what he needed me for. I sat, frozen, observant, confused.
I felt movement in the car as it sank in. Alpha Luther had entered into it.
I heard noises of him scattering something before he finally jammed the keys in and ignited the engine.
The music came on and soon, I felt the car move.
I’m about to lose my mind, you’ve been here for so long, I’m running out of time.
I need a doctor… give me a doctor… I need a doctor.. doctor… to bring me back to life
It was an Eminem song.
On the way to a party?
Surely, something felt wrong.
All the speed bumps and potholes or side cracks on the road, I felt them. He drove like he was on some type of high. Carelessly, determined, and fast.
I tumbled many times and even smashed my head on the board.
At some point, I felt my body tense up. I reached for water and tried to drink a little when we hit an unexpected speed bump and the car went flying in the air.
I grabbed whatever I could find but it didn’t help. It didn’t cushion the pain I felt when my body thudded inside the booth.
I wheezed a little.
“Alpha could you please be a little careful“. I shouted from the back.
He might have heard me as he stopped driving. He parked, came to the back, and lifted the lid off the booth.
“You screamed and I thought something had happened to you.”
“Can I please sit in the car, I’m begging you?“,
I widened my eyes and furrowed my eyebrow. “I feel very uncomfortable here.”

He looked at me funny and then jammed the door back.
O
“You don’t tell me what to do, I’m the one who determines what you do.”
He got back in and drove with the highest speed, far worse than before.
I felt the car slow down and I heard someone greet him.
“Welcome to the Crescent Hotel, Alpha Luther, you can park right there.”
He stopped the car and got out of it.
He came back to me.
“I will be attending this party with a few friends. I brought you here. Stay put.”
My mouth opened a bit.
“Was I not going to attend the party with you?” I managed to mumble.
A smile turned into a warning glare. “This will be the last time I talk and you talk. If you do it again, I promise you will not like me“.
He went to the back of the car and grabbed a handcuff.
He came back to me with it swinging in his hand.
“Let me see your hand.” He dragged my wrist and cuffed the first hand. He pushed me back into the booth and cuffed the second ring to a hook at the back of the seat.
He shook it to make sure it was in place and then pulled back outside.
“This will keep you in place.”
He took the key out of his pocket, showed it to me, and then slipped it back into his pocket.
“I’ll come back for you in an hour. Stay calm.”
He winked at me and then closed the door again.
I sat there frozen. Too stunned to understand what my use was for. Why did he bring me there?
Did he bring me to see what he looked like?
Was he bringing his mate to see the playtoy he had?
I felt my spirit saddened.
A lump in my throat, my stomach tightened.
“I can’t believe my eyes.”
Bree’s words echoed to me again. He was going to use me. He was not going to take me seriously. He was not going to let me go either.
The booth’s lid pulled up gently and The alpha came back with a glass of wine.
“Have this.”
Without hesitation, I took it from him. I didn’t want him to repeat himself.
“Drink up
I took the glass to my mouth and slowly sipped from it. The moment the wine touched my lips, I winced. It stung my taste buds, setting it on fire.
I retreated, handing it back to him.
“I think I’m fine.”
“No,” he pushed it back to me. “Drink everything.”
I looked at him unsure of what his intentions were.
He looked down at the cup and then at me again, “All of it.”

I had no choice. I didn’t want to annoy the Alpha. Slowly, with shaking hands, I took the glass back to my mouth and took a deep breath in.
I pressed my eyes tightly and held my breath as I gulped everything in one.
Worst mistake of my life.
It stung my ear and I thought I lost hearing for a second or so.
“How did it taste?”
I nodded, I couldn’t speak. The aftertaste of the wine still lingers. It was bitter and sour.
I stuck my tongue out and drew in breaths like a dog.
I wanted to fan myself. I slowly felt an air of heat coming over me.
He closed the distance between us all of a sudden.
He had his eyes on me, unwavering.
“Alpha,” I mumbled.
“Shut up,” he hushed me and then grabbed the back of my neck.
In one drag, our lips joined together.
“Ahhh!”
