The coffee shop was right next to the counter.
This shop was well–known. Myrna had seen Leann and her friends visit before. Their pastries were beautifully presented, perfect for taking pictures. Many wealthy ladies in Melcester liked to come here for afternoon tea.
Myrna found a spot to sit and ordered just a glass of lemonade.
Oliva ordered two cups of coffee and a few of the shop’s signature pastries, then returned the menu to the waiter.
Seeing Myrna only ordered a glass of plain water, he asked in surprise, “Mya, don’t you want coffee? Their handmade coffee tastes okay, it’s barely drinkable.”
Myrna took a sip of the lemon water the waiter brought over, casually replying, “I don’t like drinks that are too bitter.”
She didn’t like to drink beverages like coffee or milkshakes. If she drank them, she couldn’t sleep at night and felt uncomfortable in her stomach during the day.
So she rarely touched such beverages.
Oliva kindly said, “So that’s how it is, had I known, I would have changed the place. There’s a nice shop outside that not only serves coffee but also juice.”
