Chapter 30 Myrna Is Coming
Luther told Elaine that Myrna would go to Melcester Central High School. At the end, he said carefully, “I know about that kid’s grades. She was an average student in her school before. When she studies at Melcester Central High School, I’m afraid that she can’t follow up and may do worse. Besides, Stephie studies here. They may affect each other.”
Luther didn’t want Myrna to study at Melcester Central High School because she might embarrass him.
Although Luther’s acquaintances all knew that Myrna wasn’t Luther’s daughter, Myrna was a member of the Stark family. If Myrna got into trouble, the whole Stark family would be involved.
On the way back, Stephanie and her classmate told Luther that Myrna jumped into the water and saved someone.

Myrna was so bold. Moreover, she performed artificial respiration on the drowning child and even did some special treatment.
Luther didn’t know that Myrna could do medicine.
He was afraid that if the person died, Myrna would be in big trouble.
And if the person’s parents called the police, Luther might be embarrassed.
Luther pressed his lips tight and directly said, “Ms. Fowler, can you say something to the office of academic affairs?”
“About the transfer student…” Elaine sounded hesitant.
Luther frowned and asked in a deep voice, “Ms. Fowler, what’s the problem?”
“Mr. Stark, I’m afraid that I can’t help you.”
Luther was a little surprised. “Why?”
“It was decided by the principal. I heard that the

Luther looked a little gloomy. He remembered what his mother had told him. Myrna’s grandfather was a great painter and knew Oliva.
So, Harold might have really made some
contributions to the educational cause of River
Town.
Luther was upset. He thought that Harold was just a teacher in a poor place. Luther didn’t expect that it would be such a big deal.
“Ms. Fowler, is there anything you can do?”
Stephanie was a good student in the class, and she would certainly be admitted to Hebbury College of Art. Elaine was hesitant. She thought for a while and said, “Mr. Stark, there will be a placement test for the transfer student. If she is assigned to Class B, I’ll try to let the director put her in some other

Luther hung up. Amy and Stephanie were waiting in the living room. Seeing that Luther stopped talking on the phone, Stephanie was obviously excited.
“Dad, how did it go? What did my class teacher say?”
Luther let out a sigh and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Myrna’s grandfather is an old teacher. Myrna is going to Melcester Central High School anyway. Stay away from her at school. I don’t think she can get into your class. It’s a big school. ‘You won’t easily run into each other.‘
Class S was on the third floor. Class A and B were on the same floor.
Stephanie thought that her dad could convince the school not to accept Myrna. When Luther said that Myrna was going to Melcester Central High
School, Stephanie was obviously disappointed. But she spoke falsely.

“Melcester Central High School has good conditions. Even if Myrna studies in Class S, it’s still better than studying in River Town.”
