In the car, Antonio’s face was grim.
“Sorry, the number you dialed is not available right now. Please try again later,” the automated voice droned.
He got the same message three times in a row.
Next, Antonio dialed Tyler’s number.
Dead silence was on the other end.
Michelle, noticing Antonio’s eyes never strayed her way, rubbed her arm and let out a quiet wince
Antonio still didn’t react at all.
Two calls, two failures. Antonio’s frustration was as clear as day, his eyes sparking with irritation. “Floor it!”
The driver hit the gas, the car lurching forward.
Michelle tugged at his sleeve, her voice barely above a whisper. “Antonio, please, this is scaring me.”
Back in the day, Antonio would have melted, wrapping her in a warm embrace.

Antonio sneered, “You nailed it. She’s too much of a delicate flower to put herself through real pain. This is probably just another one of her stunts.”
Michelle nestled against him, her voice soft and gentle. “Grace just cares about you guys so much. That’s why she lost her head. Please don’t be mad at her It’s all my fault. I can’t seem to win her love…”
Antonio acted like he didn’t hear a word, not reacting at all.
His face was a picture of calm, but inside, it was like a storm brewing, ready to unleash at any moment.
Michelle’s voice was shaky, and she kept quiet after that.
The car made the final turn and rolled into Oakwood Villas.
Antonio got out of the car, struggling to wrap his head around what was in front of him.
The place he knew so well was now just a mess of ruins.
