Chapter 73
I’ll heat it up. Alyssa offered. Since the was living here rent free she figured it was only right to pitch in, so she volunteered to warm up the food.
Bint Andrew turned and gave her a look full of disdain. “I told you the day we got married–stay interest in suffering through your disaster cooking
With that, he went into the kitchen himself to heat the food.

Alyssa stood at the kitchen door, watching him fumble around akwardly. It was clear he wasn’t used to doing this sort of thing.
She bit her lip, wanting to tell him that her cooking skills wereras bad as he thought, but before she could say anything, Andrew said, “It’ll be ready soon. No point in standing here–you won’t learn anything by watching”
She was speechless, thinking, ‘How hard can it be to heat up some leftovers? But fine, if he doesn’t want me to do it, I am not going to argue
She went back to her room, grabbed some clothes, and took a shower.
When she came out, now dressed in comfortable loungewear, Andrew had already set the food on the table.
Alyssa walked over and sat down across from him.
Andrew glanced at her and said coolly, “I assume you know how to eat, right? Or do you need me to serve you?”
Before she could respond, he added, “If you can’t even manage that, you might as well starve.”
Alyssa was speechless, thinking, “This guy–why does he even bother talking?‘
After they finished eating, Alyssa got up to clear the table, but Andrew immediately looked at her in alarm. “Don’t touch anything. These dishes are part of a limited–edition set. If you break even one, it’ll ruin the whole collection.”
Alyssa was left speechless again. She could only stand there and watch as he carefully gathered the dishes and took them to the kitchen to wash.
She couldn’t believe she was now living the kind of life where she was completely waited on. It felt oddly unnatural.
Leaning against the kitchen door, she watched Andrew awkwardly wash the dishes. Unexpectedly, she found that a man doing household chores actually looked kind of charming.
“Are you sure you don’t need my help?” Alyssa asked again.
“Are
you sure you wouldn’t just make more work for me?” Andrew raised an eyebrow.

She pursed her lips. “Fine, if you’re sure. I’m heading back to my room to rest.”
With that, she left.
Andrew finished up in the kitchen, feeling a bit irritated, thinking, ‘Why do I even bother getting married? Do I really marry someone just to end up serving her? But then again, who else can I blame?‘
Rubbing his temples, he headed to his room. The master bedroom had an en–suite bathroom, but he usually avoided using it because he didn’t like the damp feeling it left in the room. However, with someone else living in the house–a woman, no less–he decided it was better to shower there to avoid
y awkwardness.
By the time he was done showering, it was already 10 PM. He opened his laptop to check some work emails, then tidied up

Even though he had managed to get off work early for once, he didn’t feel any more relaxed. He had planned to ask Alyssa where she’d been all day, since she seemed to be slacking off at work, but in the end, he got so caught up with other things that he completely forgot.
Lying in bed, Alyssa picked up her phone and saw a new WhatsApp friend request. When she opened it, the verification message read: It’s Celine.]
Alyssa quickly accepted the request.
It seemed like Celine had been waiting, because as soon as the request was accepted, she sent over a smiling emoji. Seeing the default smiley face, Alyssa couldn’t help but smile. She sent back a smiley emoji too, but hers was an adorable bunny emoji she had downloaded.
