Chapter 10 Leave with Nothing
Hot water dripped down Henry’s checks, and his fair skin turned slightly red.
His handsome face was clouded with anger as he abruptly stood up, glaring at Shana, his eyes raging like a storm. The temperature in the room plummeted to freezing in an instant.
Shana, unusually defiant, met his gaze without backing down. She straightened her back and lifted her chin, the only sign of emotion being her slightly reddered eyes. Her stance, however, remained firm.
“Henry, I don’t care about your d’un money anymore I’ll draft the divorce papers myself, and if you’re really a man, you’ll sign them right away. Let’s get the divorce finalized. You go your way, and I’ll go mine. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other!”
She slammed the glass back onto the table, ignoring Henry’s darkened expression, and walked out with her head held high, let heels clicking decisively on the floor.
Behind her, Henry’s hand slowly clenched into a fist, vens bulging on the back of his hand.
A few seconds later, the office door suddenly swung open again.
Without looking up. Henry sneered, “Shana, it’s too late if you’ve come to apologize…
But instead of Shana’s usual meek apology, he was met with a voice full of gleeful surprise.
“Henry, am I seeing things? Did your little quail of a wife just turn into a tiger? She threw water all over you and is actually demanding a divorce? Wow, was that really Shana? Or am I still drunk from last night?”
The man chuckled, tapping his forehead.
Even though he’d watched the whole thing unfold from outside, he still couldn’t believe his eyes.
Henry looked up, coldly staring at the newcomer.
The man was strikingly handsome, with slightly upturned eyes that gave him an androgynous beauty. His gaze was always dreamy as if he was perpetually in a state of deep affection.
This was Damon Blanton, Henry’s childhood friend and the heir to the Blanton Group.
Henry grabbed a tissue and wiped his face, then crumpled it up and tossed it into the trash, letting out a dismissive snort. “She’s just playing hard to get.”
Damon rubbed his chin, looking skeptical. “Doesn’t seem like it to me. She actually made a move
time.”

When Shana Had tried to divorce Henry before, the biggest scene she’d caused was silently going back to her parents house. But she hadn’t even stayed half a day. Seeing that Henry had no intention of going after her, she found an excuse and sheepishly came back on her own. But this time was different. Divorce papers, a lawyer, and a full–on confrontation–Damon had to admit, he was thoroughly entertained.
“You’re single, what do you know? Arguing is a sign of affection. She’s just trying to get my attention!” Henry corrected him, his face expressionless.

Damon fell silent.
What kind of woman tries to get attention like that?
As a seasoned player in the dating game. Damon instinctively sensed something different about Shana. When she splashed Henry with water, her eyes had a murderous glint.
He couldn’t help but argue, “No, I think this time Shana’s serious-
But before he could finish, Henry shot him a chilly sideways glance. Damon’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly shut up.
Seeing Henry’s confident “I don’t care what you think, know best attitude, Damon squinted slightly. Suddenly, he had a premonition: Henry’s dull, uneventful marriage of three years was about to hit some rough waters.
When Henry looked up again, he caught Damon staring at him with an annoyingly smug expression. He frowned and said impatiently. “If you’ve got something to say, say it. Otherwise, get lost.”
Damon was momentarily at a loss for words.
Given their long–standing friendship, Damon had intended to give him a heads–up. But seeing Henry’s attitude, he decided against it.
If Henry ended up having to beg his wife to come back, it would be his own fault!
After composing himself, Damon finally got to the point, The Mr. James you wanted to meet is hosting private event next week. I’ve secured an invitation, but he also invited Shana. Considering that divorce agreement Shana gave you has become the talk of the town, he probably wants to clear things up.”
To establish a long–term business partnership, a stable marriage was crucial.
In other words, if Henry wanted the deal, he’d have to deal with the negative impact of these divorce rumors first.
Damon dropped the invitation on the desk, then left the office, feeling pretty satisfied with himself.
Once the door closed behind him, he couldn’t help but chuckle.
Looked like he wouldn’t be short on entertainment for a while!
D*mn it, how blind had I been to fall for this jerk? Sure, he was good–looking and had a great body, but what else did he have going for him?
The more Shand replayed the events in her head, the angrier she got. She should’ve done more than just splash water on him–she should’ve thrown the whole glass at his smug face.
Unable to calm down, she decided to hit the movie theater. She bought a ticket for “Echoes of Her Silence” and watched it three times in a row. By the time she left her heart felt like it was encased in concrete, cold and unfeeling.
That evening, when Cheryl came home, she found Shapa on the couch, typing away furiously on her

laptop. Her long, delicate lingers moved quickly over the keyboard, and her expression was intensely focused.
Cheryl was momentarily taken aback. She worked at the Floyd Group and had already heard about Shana’s dramatic confrontation with Henry in his office. She’d rushed home after work, planning to comfort her, but was surprised to find her so calms.
Is this the calm before the storm?
Cheryl set down her bag, walked over, and asked bluntly, “Shana, what are you doing?”
Shana didn’t even look up. “Starting my business!”
Cheryl’s eyes widened in shock. “Wait, you’re really going through with this? You’re actually going to leave with nothing?”
