Chapter 14 Your Kiss Makes Me Sick
Shana froze at first, then immediately began to struggle violently.
Henry’s hand tightened around her waist, gripping her so hard it felt like her bones might break. The warning was clear if she dared to say anything out of line, he would make her life a living hell.
But Shana had achieved her goal. She stopped resisting, letting her body go limp and compliant
Ten minutes later, under the knowing, amused gazes of the guests, Henry escorted a dazed and unsteady Shana out of the venue
Larry stayed behind to handle the aftermath.
Henry brought Shana to the presidential suite on the top floor. As soon as the door closed, he threw her onto the sofa and yanked off his the, glaring at her with barely contained rage.
“Shana, do you have any idea what tonight’s event was? Do you think this is the place for your antics? Don’t forget your place! There are things you can say and things you can‘
Shana looked down at her reddened wrist, then calmly raised her eyes to meet his, a serene smile on her lips. “Of course I know how important tonight’s dinner was. That’s exactly why I wanted to announce our impending divorce in front of everyone–to make sure they know the truth.
“So certain people can stop pretending not to hear.”
Henry was so furious that he laughed. Is she calling me out?
Shana didn’t care about his sarcasm and continued, “Henry, I’ve told you countless times that I want a divorce, but you always think I’m just being dramatic. Since you’re playing deaf, the only way to show you I’m serious is by making it public.
“Mr. Floyd, you might have stopped me today, but can you stop me the next time, or the time after that? You wouldn’t want our divorce to become tabloid fodder, a constant source of entertainment for everyone, would you?”
Of course, she was bluffing. As much as she wanted to tear Henry apart and scatter his ashes, the reality was that pushing him too far wouldn’t do her any good.
First, she wouldn’t get the divorce she wanted. Second, if she made an enemy out of Henry, life in Portchester for both her and Brian would become incredibly difficult.
Besides….tantrums and emotional outbursts were reserved for people you loved. Henry no longer deserved that from her.
As she spoke. Henry’s handsome face grew colder, his expression icy. When he finally spoke, his words came out through gritted teeth. “Shana, who gave you the nerve to threaten me?”
Shana blinked innocently, “Mr. Floyd, it’s not a threat. Im just trying to have a friendly discussion about
our divorce.
Henry had had enough of hearing the word “divorce from her. His anger flared, and he didn’t bother arguing anymore.

With a few quick strides, he closed the distance between them, hoisted her over his shoulder, and carried her to the bedroom, where he threw her onto the bed,
Henry pinned her hands down, leaning in as his lips crashed onto hers. This kiss was different from before.
it was fueled by anger, more forceful, more domineering, and it carried a punishing edge.
At the same time, his hand skillfully slipped under her clothing, seeking out the sensitive spots on her body.
Shana hadn’t expected him to be interested in sex at a time like this. She was furious–he had never respected her, which was why he kept ignoring her words.
As she thought about how those same lips had kissed Kate, and how his body had been intertwined with hers in such intimate ways, a wave of nausea washed over her, overwhelming and unstoppable.
“Ugh-
Shana shoved him away and started dry heaving
Henry’s expression turned dark with disbelief as he looked up at her, his eyes flashing with shock.
For the past three years, whenever Shana had thrown a tantrum or acted out, it usually ended with them reconciling in bed. Their physical relationship had always been strong–she had even been the more enthusiastic partner most of the time, always coming up with new ways to keep things exciting.
This was the first time he had clearly sensed her deep–seated disgust and revulsion.
As Shana regained her composure, she noticed Henry’s expression, as if he’d just stepped in something vile. That actually made her feel a bit better,
“Mr. Floyd, I have no feelings for you anymore. Your kiss makes me sick. Now, do you finally believe that I really want a divorce?”
Her words made the already tense atmosphere even more explosive.
Henry’s gaze locked onto hers, cold and filled with barely contained fury. But just as Shana thought she had finally pushed him to agree to the divorce, his eyes sharpened, scrutinizing her with an intense curiosity.
The next moment, he grabbed her chin with his long fingers, pulling her face close to his. His voice was low and icy, “Shana, you knew I had no feelings for you when we got married, but you still did everything you could to cling to me for three years.
“Tell me, what’s the real reason you’re so desperate for a divorce? If you can convince me, I might consider
Now it was Shana’s turn to frown in confusion.
From what she understood, Henry didn’t really want to stay married. He was just dragging this out because of pressure from his grandfather and the company, and maybe a little bit out of spite because she was the one who asked for the divorce first.
the way he was talking now, it sounded like she was the unreasonable one?

Shana thought carefully, sensing that something wasn’t quite right. After a moment, she said, “That day
