Chapter 15 Don’t Regret This!
The doorbell suddenly rang, a bit urgently.
Henry released Shana, stood up, and went to open the door.

Shana took the opportunity to sit up, tidying her disheveled clothes a bit before unscrewing a bottle of mineral water from the bedside table and taking a sip to soothe her throat.
From the living room, she heard voices–Lairy was briefing Henry on the situation at the banquet.
He was concise, wrapping up quickly, but then hesitated for a few seconds before speaking again, “Mr. Floyd, there’s one more thing
Even though he had lowered his voice, Shana still caught the mention of “Ms. Carroll. She couldn’t help but smirk.
A few minutes later. Henry returned to the bedroom, putting on his jacket as he casually said, “I have something to take care of. If you’re tired, you can stay here and rest. If you don’t want to stay, the driver will take you home”
Bearing this, Shana wasn’t surprised, but it still hurt her deep down.
She forced a smile, got out of bed, and blocked his path. “We’re not finished talking”
Henry frowned as he fastened his watch, his tone still cold. “We’ll talk when I get back.”
Get back
He always left her alone in the middle of the night and never once returned. She had waited for him so many times, always in vain.
Shana’s dark eyes locked onto his, and she stubbornly insisted. “I want to talk now”
Irritation creased Henry’s brow like he was chastising her for being unreasonable. Without saying another word, he grabbed his phone and moved to walk around her.
Shana closed her eyes for a moment, then stepped aside, letting him pass. But she spoke coldly, “Henry, either you stay tonight and we settle this, or there’s nothing left to say. We’ll go straight to divorce.”
Right now, she didn’t care what urgent reason Kate had for needing him in the middle of the night. She wanted Henry to choose her, just this once.
Henry’s handsome face darkened, and the anger in his eyes flared up again. “Shana, is this all you’ve got? Always threatening divorce? Do you really think you’re so irresistible, that I won’t actually divorce you?”
Shana looked up at him. Then give me a straight answer, or I’ll really think you can’t bear to leave me.”
“Fine! Don’t regret this!” Henry’s voice was icy and harsh. Tomorrow morning, nine o’clock, City Hall!”
With that, he brushed past her shoulder and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
Shana lay back down on the bed, and before long, her eyes reddened.

For a moment, she had foolishly hoped that maybe what happened that night had been a misunderstanding, but she was quickly reminded that it wasn’t.

She sniffled, trying to console herself. At least Henry had finally agreed to the divorce. Once they got the papers signed tomorrow, she could start a new life.
Shana had expected a sleepless night, but instead, she dept soundly. When she woke up, it was already. right o’clock.
She got out of bed and washed up. Unlike every other time she left the house, when she would carefully dress to fit her role as Mrs. Floyd, today she went out late–faced, wearing a comfortable, loose sweatshirt and jeans
She arrived at City Hall at 15. She hadn’t eaten much the day before, and now her stomach was growling in protest. Spotting a breakfast stand by the roadside, she figured she had some time and walked over.
The steam from the Fereal and the crispness of the croissants made her mouth water. It had been ages since she’d eaten such a simple breakfast. She ordered one of each and stood there, eating by the side of the road.
A black Cullinan slowly pulled up and parked nearby.
Henry stepped out of the car and immediately spotted Shana, looking disheveled as she devoured her food. Her hands and mouth were greasy, with no concern for her appearance.
He frowned deeply as he watched her.
Shana quickly noticed his disapproving gaze. She looked up, meeting Henry’s eyes, and instead of stopping, she stuffed the rest of the croissant into her mouth and licked her fingers clean…
Satisfied and full, she pulled out a wet wipe, cleaned her hands, and then walked over to him. “Let’s go
inside.”
Henry’s expression grew even darker. He didn’t move, instead giving her a cold, disdainful once–over before saying. “Shana, did you even look in the mirror before you left the house? Am I not providing enough for you to eat or wear? Are you deliberately trying to embarrass me with this pathetic appearance?”
Henry knew how much Shana cared about her looks. Even the smallest, nearly invisible wrinkle would send her into a frenzy.
He vividly remembered how, on the day they got their marriage license, she had dressed to the nines, looking so exquisite that she seemed to have stepped out of a painting.
Every strand of her hair gleamed, and her beauty had momentarily taken his breath away, making his normally steady heart skip a beat.
But now, Shana felt nothing at his words. She even smiled. “Mr. Floyd, we’re about to get divorced. No matter how much 1 embarrass myself, it won’t reflect on you. Don’t worry.”
Henry’s lips curled into a cold smirk. “Shana, you’d better think this through. If we go through with the divorce, you’ll leave with nothing. You’ll lose all the perks of being Mrs. Floyd. Don’t even think about taking half of my assets-
Before he could finish, Shana cut him off. “Divorce it is! I don’t want a single cent from you! I’ve already.

had Mr. Pearson draft a new divorce agreement. I brought it with me–two copies, ready to sign!”
She pulled the papers from her bag and handed them to him.
Henry glanced at them and saw that she had already signed her name.
He forced a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, his lips tightening in displeasure as he turned and walked toward City Hall.
