Shana hurried to catch up with him.

But just as they were about to step through the door, Henry suddenly stopped in his tracks, his sharp eyes zeroing in on a cluster of bushes by the side of the road
Shana didn’t notice and bumped right into his solid back. Rubbing her nose, she muttered in annoyance, “What’s going on?”
Two of Henry’s black–suited bodyguards quickly rushed over and yanked out two people from the bushes, lifting them like they were nothing.
Shana looked over and recognized them–they were paparazzi from a notorious tabloid, known for their unscrupulous methods, always stalking celebrities and public figures to dig up dirt for attention.
As she was piecing this together, she suddenly felt a tight grip on her wrist.
“Shana, quite the calculated move, huh?” Henry’s voice, thick with anger, came crashing down on her.
Shana looked up at him, stunned.
“You think I called the paparazzi here on purpose?” she asked, incredulous,
Henry’s face was cold, and his words were cutting. “No wonder you dressed so poorly, didn’t care about your appearance, and sat by the roadside eating junk food. And then you played the part of the martyr. saying you’d walk away with nothing.
“You wanted to sign the divorce papers today, and then tomorrow, those vultures would splash the photos everywhere, making it look like the Floyds mistreated you. After that, you’d run crying to my grandfather, and I’d be forced to give you half of everything! Shana, you act so well–you’re wasting your talent by not going into showbiz!”
Shana’s face went pale. She instinctively tried to defend herself, “It wasn’t me. I-”
“This isn’t the first time.” Henry cut her off, his eyes full of disdain.
The rest of her words stuck in her throat.
Shana remembered how, over the past three years, they’d had countless arguments, but she had always been careful to keep Duncan from finding out. However, once, the news did reach him somehow. Enraged, Duncan had summoned Henry home and beaten him badly, leaving him with severe bruises.
That incident had even delayed Henry’s planned succession of the company. Duncan had made it clear that if Henry couldn’t manage his household, he wasn’t fit to manage the Floyd Group.
Shana knew that no matter what she said right now, Henry wouldn’t believe her. So she cut to the point. “Mr. Floyd, we can bring in a lawyer right now to witness everything. I promise I won’t ask for a penny after the divorce, and I won’t do anything to damage your reputation. I’ll stay as far away from you as possible if I see you at one end of the street, I’ll run to the other.”
Henry let out a cold snort, clearly showing he didn’t trust her at all.

“Txwear it…“Shana raised her hand in desperation.

They were right at the entrance of City Hall–she didn’t want anything to derail the divorce now.
But just then, Henry’s phone rang. He answered it, and after listening for a moment, he said, “I’ll be right
there
He hung up the call, not even sparing Shana a glance, and immediately started to walk away.
“Henry Shana grabbed his arm.
“Save your tricks for someone else. I don’t have time to play these games with you!” Henry shook off her
hand.
With his long legs, he quickly reached his car. In no time, the black Cullinan sped off, leaving Shana standing there alone.
The next evening, Cheryl dragged her suitcase back into the apartment.
As soon as she stepped inside, she didn’t even bother getting a drink of water. Instead, she rushed over to Shana, dropped to her knees, and clung to her legs.
“Shana. I’m so sorry! Damon tricked me! That j’rk got my WhatsApp password and tricked me onto a plane. I’ve completely let you down!”
Shana patted her on the head. “I knew there had to be a reason. I’m not mad at you.”
Having been friends for years, Shana knew Cheryl was truly loyal to her and would never do anything to betray her trust
Cheryl still felt guilty. She opened her suitcase and pulled out a designer handbag, offering it to Shana with both hands. “This is the latest model, just a little token of my apology. Please accept it.”
She paused, then added, “Damon footed the bill. We each get one as compensation for our emotional
distress.
Shana swallowed her words of refusal and accepted the bag,
Making Damon’s wallet bleed was just as satisfying as making Henry’s, so there was no need to be polite.
Even though getting a new handbag usually cured all woes, Cheryl noticed that Shana didn’t seem particularly happy. In fact, she still looked upset. Cheryl sat down beside her and asked, “Shana, didn’t you. and Henry make up? So why do you still look so down?
“Who said we made up?”
Cheryl pulled out her phone, tapped a
w times, and showed it to Shana
Pictures of them passionately kissing at the banquet had spread faster than a virus, becoming the talk of the town. The photos had even flooded their Facebook feeds that same night.
Shana, who had already been in a low furned even darker after seeing the images.

She realized she had madvertently helped Henry clean up the chore scandal and secure his business deal, vet she still hadn’t managed to get a divorce!
She was truly losing out here!
The more Shana thought about it, the angrier she becane. She couldn’t hold back and spilled everything that had happened that day. Can you believe those paparazzi? They showed up at the worst possible moment, nuuming everything! I was so close to getting what I wanted. Now it’s going to be even harder to get that sembag to agree to the divorce
mething doesn’t add up” Cheryl frowned
What doesILL”
Cheryl began to analyze. The Floyds are one of the top families in Portchester, so yes, there are paparazzi who like to follow them. But even if they catch something, it’s unlikely it would ever be released. First, it wouldn’t get past our PR department, so most paparazzi wouldn’t waste their time
And besides. Henry usually has bodyguards with him Paparazzi can’t get close to him, let alone stake out the entrance to City Hall and snap photos of you two. Unless
Her eyes suddenly widened as she made a bold guess. Could it be that Henry called the paparazzi Himself?
Shana couldn’t help but laugh at the idea. “How could that be? What reason would he have for doing that
Cheryl stroked her chin, suddenly adopting the persona of a detective. “There’s only one truth. I think Henry doesn’t want to divorce you!”
