Cyrus was momentarily stunned and then gave a mysterious smile. “Henry, you’re still the same as ever.”
Henry said nothing more and walked away.
As he was about to return to the hospital room, Damon suddenly popped out from somewhere and leaned in close with a mischievous grin.
“Henry, I saw everything.”
Henry shoved him away, clearly annoyed. “Stay away from me!”
Damon didn’t mind and lightly nudged his arm. He continued, “You scolded Claire because of your little wife, which shows you don’t believe in Claire’s nonsense. So why make Shana apologize?
“Are you one of those people who do good deeds without seeking recognition, hiding your good deeds and name?”
Henry didn’t even look his way and ignored him completely.
Damon tapped his chin and clicked his tongue. “From what I know about you, you’re definitely not the type to be a good samaritan. So there’s only one possibility!”
He caught up with Henry again, cupped his hands around his mouth, and shouted, “Are you jealous?”
Lately, Shana had been giving him the cold shoulder and was more determined than ever about the divorce. He was puzzled and even wondered when women usually start menopause.

He couldn’t believe that after siding with her, he saw her smiling brightly at another man. It was enough to make him furious and jealous.
That was why he had to remind Cyrus earlier.
Henry suddenly stopped and shot a cold glance at Damon. “How much did you drink just now?”
The unexpected question left Damon stunned. He reflexively replied, “I didn’t drink. I didn’t have time.”
The birthday party ended before it even started, and they didn’t get to eat anything.
“You’re talking crazy without even drinking. Go get a late–night check–up for your head. I’ll pay for it.”

Damon was stunned for a second. He wanted to argue but saw Henry’s cold stare and decided to keep quiet.
He raised his hands in surrender. “Alright, I’ll stop talking.”
He figured he’d just stay quiet and see how long this would go on!
With nothing else to do, Damon decided not to be a third wheel. “I’m heading out now. I’ll come back to see Mr. Floyd Senior tomorrow.”

When Henry got back to the hospital room, Shana was already asleep on the couch.
She was curled up with her back to him, still looking defensive and resistant even while asleep:
He shoved his hands in his pockets and watched her, his eyes dark and hard to read.

Shana had always been super enthusiastic around him, clinging to him no matter how cold he was, sticking to him, and being impossible to shake off. It drove him crazy.
And she never stayed mad at him for more than a day.
But now, it was like she’d completely changed.
What’s she up to?
Henry closed his eyes, thought things over, and then glanced at Shana again before grabbing a blanket.
Shana wasn’t asleep; she just didn’t want to talk to him to avoid getting herself worked up. Women shouldn’t have stayed angry all the time; they needed to take care of themselves!
But when he bent down and gently covered her with the blanket, her long, curled eyelashes fluttered.
He had always been so cold toward her, yet he was showing some care?
In the past, she would’ve been thrilled and over the moon about this. But now, with the divorce almost set, he acted like this now?
Is he playing games?
Hehe. Who cares?
She shook her head, took a deep breath to clear her mind, and fell asleep directly.
The next day, Duncan woke up around noon. The once strong and lively old man now looked frail and weak in his hospital bed, which made Shana’s eyes fill with tears.
She held his thin, bony hand tightly, her voice breaking “Grandpa, you’re sick. Why didn’t you tell us?”
Duncan gently patted her hand and said calmly, “Illness and death are just part of life. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to worry like this.”
“Grandpa…”
“Don’t worry, now that I’m back, I’ll make sure to follow the treatment,” Duncan said, trying to reassure her.
Seeing Shana still crying, Duncan turned to Henry and snapped, “Can’t you see your wife is crying? Go wipe her tears! Don’t you have any sense?”
Henry was left speechless.
Duncan added, “My son and I are both known for treating our wives well. How did you turn out so

He looked at Henry with suspicion. If his health allowed, he might have insisted on a DNA test right then
and there.
Henry, with a stern face, probably didn’t want to upset his grandfather, given his condition. He roughly grabbed a couple of tissues and wiped them across Shana’s face.
Shana clenched her fists, holding back her irritation.
She didn’t want Duncan to notice anything wrong. Besides, once this act of “affection” was over, she’d finally be free.
Shana gave a shy smile and said, “Thanks, hubby.”
Duncan’s anger seemed to melt away. He took their hands and held them together, speaking sincerely, “I’ve had a long life and enjoyed all sorts of things. I’m happy with that. The only thing I regret now is not seeing your children.”
As he spoke, his gaze turned expectantly to Shana’s belly. “Any news yet?”
Shana’s expression shifted slightly.
She wished there was news, but if he wasn’t doing his part, what could she do?
As she was trying to figure out what to say, Henry’s deep voice cut in. “Grandpa, we’re trying. We’ll have
news soon.”
Shana looked up in shock, seeing him acting completely unfazed.
He used to get so angry and opposed the idea of having kids. How could he talk like this now?
Then it hit her, and her heart sank.
If he wasn’t talking about her, he must be setting the stage for Kate’s baby.
So, he does plan to marry her!
Duncan had thought about giving his grandson a lecture, but seeing his good attitude this time, he just snorted and said, “You better keep your word! If you ever make Shana feel mistreated again, I’ll make sure you regret it!”
Soon after, the rest of the Floyds came by to visit.
With everyone crowding in, Shana got pushed out. She didn’t mind at all and was happy to have some peace and quiet
Duncan’s condition was stable and her job was basically done. It was time to ask Henry for her reward!
She looked around the room but didn’t see anyone, frowned a bit, and then walked out.
In the hallway, Henry was on the phone, sounding quite gentle. She headed toward him.
Before she could get close, Henry abruptly ended the call, as if afraid she might hear something.
