Henry looked down, giving her a blank stare before turning to walk away.

Shana’s eyes widened in shock as she quickly grabbed his sleeve. “Wait, what’s that supposed to mean? Are you backing out?”
If he dared to go back on his word, she would lose her temper right there.
Henry chuckled. “You want to have this talk here? Afraid someone might not overhear?”
Shana then noticed that people were frequently passing by in the hallway, not to mention the room full of Floyds inside. It wasn’t the right place for a conversation.
She held back her frustration and forced a smile. “Alright, let’s find another place.”
Shana had planned to find a random café nearby to finish this quickly and leave. But as soon as she stepped out of the hospital, Larry was already waiting at the entrance with the car.
He opened the back door and Henry got into the car.
Shana bit her lip, clearly annoyed. She felt like she was suffocating with every extra second she spent with him.
“It’s just a phone call. Do you really need to make such a big deal out of it, like with a ritual or something?” she said with sarcasm.
Henry acted like he hadn’t heard her and said, “It’s up to you if you want to get in the car, but just so you know, I have a meeting in an hour and don’t have time to waste here.”
Then, he lightly tapped his watch with his long fingers. You’ve got ten seconds to decide.”
Shana clenched her fists.
He was a ruthless capitalist, skilled in the art of negotiation. Because she needed something from him, she was at his mercy.
Reluctantly, she got into the car.
The car started up and joined the flow of traffic.
Shana eagerly asked, “Can you make the call now?”
Henry looked at her with a sharp glance and asked, “Have you apologized to Claire?“*
Shana hesitated for a moment but replied calmly, “It’s not like I didn’t want to. It’s just that I was too busy with Grandpa being sick.”
“Too busy, or you just never intended to go?” Henry’s dark eyes were intense as if seeing right through her. “Shana, if you can’t even be a good wife, what right do you have to ask me to make that call?”
Shana was at a loss for words.

She argued, “At least I’ve been doing my best in front of Grandpa. Henry, as a person you can’t be this
unreasonable.”
“A person?” Henry’s eyes grew colder. “Aren’t I just a ‘scbag‘ in your eyes? Am I supposed to be a person now?”
“How did you know?” Shana blurted qut, and then quickly covered her mouth, staring at him in panic. “Last night when you were talking in your sleep,” Henry replied with a flat expression.
He had been dozing on a small sofa when he suddenly heard her mumbling. He leaned in to listen and caught her calling his name.
.
He thought to himself, Even when she’s asleep, she’s still calling out for me. But when she’s awake she keeps wanting a divorce. She’s just saying one thing and means another.
But then he heard her mumble something with a lot of frustration–just one word: “Sc*mbag
Shana never imagined that her daytime thoughts would spill over into her dreams and that he’d end up hearing her insult him even while she was asleep.
No wonder she woke up to find him looking annoyed.
Shana thought about it and said, “Fine, it’s my fault. I guess I shouldn’t have closed both eyes while I sleep.”
Hearing this, Larry couldn’t help but laugh.
Henry’s face went dark, and he gave Larry a cold stare. Larry quickly backed off, holding his breath, and went back to being invisible.
The car had unknowingly pulled into the Floyd Group’s underground parking garage. Once it stopped, Henry didn’t even look at her and simply got out.
Shana felt irritated. Was he really going to act like a sc*mbag and not let her say anything?
She followed him out of the car and quickly caught up. She managed to keep her emotions in check and asked, “Henry, if I apologize to Claire now, will you keep your promise?”
It was just about lowering herself for Claire, something she’d done plenty of times over the
years.

One more time wouldn’t make a difference.
Still, the lingering feeling of unfairness bubbled up inside her. She blinked a few times and looked down.
Seeing her like that, Henry frowned a bit, feeling an odd pang in his chest, like he’d been stung by a bee.
As Shana was about to grab her phone, he said calmly, I’ve changed my mind. We need to go over the terms again.”
Shana took a deep breath and asked, “Are you backing out again?”

She was seriously starting to suspect that he was just annoyed with her, thinking that her desire for a divorce was a challenge to his authority. It seemed like he was toying with her, enjoying making her annoyed.
“Let’s talk upstairs,” he said and then headed toward the elevator.
Shana silently cursed Henry a thousand times before following him.
In the CEO’s office, Henry lounged in his chair with his legs crossed and chin raised. “What do you want to drink?”
She was so irritated that she might as well consider drinking his blood!
Shana yanked out a chair and sat down, cutting straight to the chase. “Just say what you need to say. Stop being so wishy–washy like a woman!”
Henry smirked, clearly amused. “You’re not sure if I’m a man or woman?”
Shana was speechless.
He glanced at Larry and said, “Bring two cups of coffee
Larry nodded. “Got it, Mr. Floyd.”
As Larry was about to leave, Henry suddenly changed his mind and said, “Forget the coffee. Just head out.”
Larry was surprised for a moment, glanced at Shana, and then got the hint. He held back a laugh as he left and carefully shut the door behind him.
Henry folded his hands and said, “Grandpa probably has only about six months left.”
Shana looked up in shock. “How could this happen?”
She knew Duncan wasn’t well, but she didn’t expect it to be this bad.
Henry stared at her and said, “I just want Grandpa to enjoy his remaining time and not worry about anything. So, I need you to keep being a good wife. Do exactly what you were doing before.”
It was clear what he was implying. She was stuck in this d*mn marriage, having to deal with him and the weird Floyds, while also watching him show off his affair. Was she really supposed to put up with this and stick around for another six months?
“Why should I?” Shana slammed her hand on the table.
She didn’t want Duncan to be unhappy, but the idea of dragging this out for another six months with someone she was already emotionally distant from and planning to divorce was unbearable. She just
couldn’t stand it.
Henry wasn’t surprised by her reaction. He squinted and said, “Grandpa’s always been so kind to you, this is how you repay him?”
and
“Don’t try to guilt–trip me,” Shana shot back. “I can keep pretending in front of Grandpa, but that’s it. I’m not doing anything more.”

If things kept dragging on, Kate might have her baby by then. Wh

them.
“Really?”
Henry didn’t change his expression. He gave a cold smirk, tossed a document her way, and said, “Check this out and then answer again.”
