Shana was caught off guard, her eyes widening in surprise.

The man’s hot breath was against her face, and she could clearly see his long, thick eyelashes, brushing down like butterfly wings.
Compared to what had just happened, she actually preferred kisses. Kissing conveyed a purer and deeper sense of being cherished and cared for.
But over the past three years, every time he initiated a kiss, it was driven solely by physical desire. It was merely foreplay, never a simple gesture of affection.
Aside from the time at the last party when he kissed her to silence her, this was the second time.
Shana didn’t feel anysweetness at all; instead, she was bewildered and speechless. Without a second thought, she pushed him away with force.
“What are you doing?” She stepped back twice, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
Henry seemed taken aback by her strong reaction. Seeing her look of extreme disgust, his expression turned grim.
It only then dawned on Shana that his so–called “stamp of approval” was actually this …
She was stunned. “You don’t actually think you look cool doing this, do you?”
Given their current facade of a marriage, his actions weren’t just flirtatious. They were downright greasy.
She couldn’t help but scoff in disgust.
Henry’s gaze instantly turned icy, and the temperature around them seemed to drop to freezing.
His anger turned into a bitter smile as he said each word slowly, “Mrs. Floyd, what are you pretending for? When you were trying every trick in the book to seduce me, why weren’t you so reserved then?”
D*mn, this jerk was barking up the wrong tree again.
Shana clenched her fists, her eyes widening with fury, wishing she could slap him across the face.
For the sake of Uncle Brian and Ryan, and to ensure a smooth divorce and a chance at becoming a little wealthier, she had to keep her temper in check for a better future!
Endure for now, and things will settle down. Besides, she had to think about that five percent of Floyds‘ shares.
Her seething anger was instantly doused by thoughts of the immense wealth and she chose to ignore his
words.
Placing her fingers on her lips, she forced a smile and said, “Mr. Floyd, since the formalities are done, I’ll be taking my leave!”
Without waiting for a response, she turned on her heel and walked out, not giving him a chance to say

anything further.
Henry stared at her retreating figure, which seemed to slip away as if she were walking on oil. His frustration was palpable, and he took a few deep breaths to try to calm himself.

At the right moment, Mr. Walker, who had been silently observing, spoke up, “Mr. Floyd, I’ll step out and get to work now.”
Henry gave a curt nod.
After Mr. Walker had taken a few steps away, Henry suddenly asked, “What does that mean?”
Mr. Walker stopped and, after a brief moment of thought, answered seriously, “It’s an internet term; it’s supposed to mean disgusting.”
Henry simply stared, speechless.
As soon as Shana got into the taxi, the jerk’s call came through again, making her frown in irritation.
Was he ever going to stop? He had gone for months without calling or sending a single message, and now his behavior was nothing short of harassment.
Though she wanted to hang up immediately, her finger hesitated, and she weakly answered the call.
“Mr. Floyd, what can I do for you?”
“Move back to the house today. I’ll have Larry come pick you up.” Henry’s tone was indifferent but left no room for
argument.
Home?
The word sounded truly ironic.
She had once eagerly hoped that Moonville Bay would be the love nest for her and Henry. Yet, over the past three years, he had shown her that it was nothing but a foolish dream.
But since the contract was signed, she wasn’t going to make a fuss. She’d just think of it as finding a job with room and board.
Despite how difficult Henry might be as an employer, the accommodations at Moonville Bay were quite comfortable.
“Sure thing, Mr. Floyd. I’ll move back tonight, as you wish,” She replied with a forced smile.
Although her tone was cooperative, Henry could clearly detect the sarcasm. Keeping a stern expression, he said, “I’ve already called Mrs. Grant, and she’s willing to accept the settlement. Find a time to visit her with Ryan and remember to bring a gift.”
Shana was taken aback.
With this jerk constantly making things difficult for her she had expected him to drag his feet and her
put through more trouble before dealing with the matter. She hadn’t anticipated him being so efficient this

time
At least he had a bit of conscience left.
Feeling a weight lift off her shoulders, Shana found him a bit more tolerable. She responded with a gentler tone, “Alright, got it.”
After hanging up, Shana rested her chin on her hand and thought. She had little interaction with Mrs. Grant and wasn’t sure what she liked.,
Apologizing and making amends shouldn’t be done casually; it needs to be done in a way that really resonates with the person.
Shana sent a WhatsApp message to Cheryl. She was well–informed and knew all the details of the scene, so asking her was definitely a good move.
Sure enough, Cherylcame through with the key details immediately. “Mrs. Grant likes crystal and collects angel statues. I recall that Gleaming Gems Boutique just released a crystal angel statue. She’ll definitely appreciate that.”
Cheryl then sent over the details of the angel statue.
Shana took a look at the price and clicked her tongue. Seven figures…
It would certainly strain her already modest savings.
But for the sake of Ryan, it was worth it!
With plenty of time left, Shana instructed the driver to head straight to Gleaming Gems Boutique to purchase the angel statue before going to the apartment to pack up and return to Moonville Bay.
About thirty minutes later, the car reached at Gleaming Gems Boutique, and Shana stepped out and walked into the store.
Most of the people who come here are either wealthy or of high status, so the staff are exceptionally polite. They ushered Shana into the lounge, offering her hot tea and snacks.
Shana didn’t waste any time. She pulled out the photo of the angel statue and handed it to the shop assistant. “I want this angel statue.”
The shop assistant was pleased by her directness and immediately brightened up. “You have great taste. This is a limited edition crystal statue crafted by a master, and it’s the only one in the world. I’ll get it for you right away.”
She turned and left.
Shana curled her lips into a smile and took a sip of her tea.
Soon, the shop assistant returned, carefully carrying a beautifully crafted, classic box. She placed the box on the table, opened the lid, and revealed the angel statue inside.
The crystal was of excellent quality, translucent and radiant.
The craftsmanship was exquisite, making the statue look remarkably lifelike.

Shana inspected it, confirmed there were no issues, and nodded. “Wrap it up. Make it look nice. I’m giving it as a gift“.

As the shop assistant was about to close the lid, a fair–skinned arm suddenly reached out and stopped her. A soft, sultry voice followed. “This angel statue looks quite nice.”
The strong scent of perfume filled the air. Shana looked up and saw Kate in high–end designer clothes, accompanied by several assistants.
The usual grand and flashy entourage.
Shana raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Kate, seeing her indifferent demeanor and lack of regard, flashed a hint of hostility in her eyes before smirking coldly

She turned directly to the shop assistant and said, “I’ll take this angel statue.”
The shop assistant looked troubled. “Ms. Carroll… This… Ms. Robertson was first in line for it. Would you like to look at other styles? We have many options in the store…
Before she could finish speaking, Kate impatiently cut in. “I want this one. She hasn’t paid yet, so it doesn’t belong to her.
“As far as I know, Gleaming Gems Boutique has a policy where items are up for bidding, and the highest bid wins. I’m offering double the price now. If she can’t outbid me, then it should go to me!”
Gleaming Gems Boutique indeed had such a policy, and the shop assistant couldn’t argue with that. She turned to Shana. “Ms. Robertson, would you like to place a higher bid?”
