Shana knew right away that Kate, with her false sweetness, wasn’t going to come up with anything good.
“You don’t need to ask her. As a fallen socialite who’s about to be kicked out and can barely keep her husband’s favor, how much money could she possibly have? The original price has already drained her finances.”
Kate laughed haughtily. “Unlike me… My boyfriend spoils me. I can buy whatever I want.”
She gave a signal to her assistant, who brought forward her wallet. Kate pulled out a black card and waved it in front of everyone.
Shana immediately recognized it as one of Henry’s supplementary cards, meaning Henry had given it to
Kate.
She was puzzled. Although Kate was successful in her career, doubling the price to nearly ten million dollars wasn’t something she could afford on her own. It turned out she was relying on Henry’s wealth.
Shana’s heart sank.
When she got her hands on Henry’s supplementary card, she was thrilled like a giddy fool. She thought Henry was reserved but secretly liked her. Otherwise, why would he be so generous?
Now, seeing this black card, she realized how foolish she had been.
Her supposed exclusivity and favoritism amounted to nothing at all!
“Shana, how about it? How’s it going? If you don’t have any money, you’d better leave quickly and not waste my time.” Kate smirked, handing the black card to the shop assistant. “Also, pick out a couple of crystal bangles for me. Let’s settle the bill together. Make it quick; I’m very busy.”
The shop assistant’s eyes brightened instantly.
With this sale, she would earn a substantial commission.
She licked her lips and, with a hint of apology, said to Shana, “Ms. Robertson, if you’re not bidding higher, then this angel statue will be sold to Ms. Carroll.”
Shana suddenly gave a faint smile. “Sure.”
Kate had expected to see her flustered, but was surprised to find her completely unmoved, even smiling.
She knew Shana was buying the angel statue to please Mrs. Grant and prevent her from accusing Ryan. Given that it was now being taken away, Kate expected a different reaction.
Could she be so flustered she was losing her mind?
With this thought, Kate felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction and grew even more arrogant.
She sat down opposite Shana, slightly raising her hand to flaunt the large diamond ring on her finger, which sparkled dazzlingly.

Shana, however, acted as if she were blind to it, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor without any visible reaction.
Kate wasn’t about to miss this rare opportunity to see Shana take a hit. She arrogantly tilted her chin. “Shana, if you’re not leaving, do you still hope to get this angel statue?”
She reached out, took the angel statue, and pretended to examine it with great care before letting it fall from her hands.
The angel statue hit the ground and chipped slightly.
“Oh no, it’s damaged.” Kate covered her mouth in mock regret and then looked at Shana. “Fortunately, this angel statue is already mine. I bought it just for fun, so if it’s damaged, so be it.”
She thought this would definitely sting Shana, especially since she urgently needed the crystal angel for an apology. It was something unique and irreplaceable. To her surprise, Shana nodded in agreement and sighed.
“It is quite a pity, considering how expensive it is.”
Kate was left speechless.
Is she okay? Has she really lost her mind?
Shana took another sip of the chamomile tea at her leisure, then pulled out her phone and sent a few
messages.
After a while, the shop assistant hurried over and said, “Ms. Carroll, your card has been deactivated and won’t process any payments. Would you like to use another card?”
“What?” Kate, who was drinking tea, choked and began coughing violently, her face turning a deep red.
After catching her breath, she snapped, “Impossible! That card can’t be deactivated. There must be an issue with your machine.”
The shop assistant shook her head repeatedly. “Ms. Carroll, we’ve tried many times. The card has indeed been deactivated.”
Kate was about to argue further when she suddenly remembered something. She glared at Shana and snapped, “It was you, wasn’t it? You had someone deactivate my card?”
She had seen Shana sending messages earlier.
Shana didn’t deny it and nodded confidently. “Yes, it was me.”
“You… How dare you deactivate my card?” Kate fumed, her chest heaving with anger and her face contorted with rage.
“Of course, because … I’m Mrs. Floyd. As his wife, I have control over his assets. That’s the power of marriage.”
Shana stood up and looked down at her with disdain. “And you, no matter how high you jump, are just an

insignificant mistress.”

She glanced at the damaged angel statue on the floor and smiled. “Ms. Carroll, since the angel statue is already damaged, it can’t be returned. You’ll have to buy it yourself. But since you’re so wealthy, I’m sure this small expense won’t bother you.”
“You…” Kate was seething with fury. Although her career was successful and she had earned a lot of money, her expenses were enormous, and nearly ten million dollars was not something she could easily pull together.
Seeing Shana’s smile, she suddenly realized. “You did this on purpose, didn’t you? You pretended not to care, provoked me into damaging the angel statue, and then had my card deactivated?
“Shana, you’re really vicious! No wonder Henry looks down on you!”
Shana shrugged nonchalantly. “Kate, instead of cursing here, why don’t you hurry up and come up the money? It would be quite embarrassing if you got caught for not having enough.”
She paused and smiled even more. “Oh, and don’t think about having Henry pay for it. I’ve already notified the paparazzi. If he pays today, it will confirm that you’re a mistress who’s meddling in our marriage.
with
“Even if Henry and I divorce, you’ll never get into the Floyds! They’re a prestigious, centuries–old family that values their reputation above all else.”
Kate was trembling with anger, her face paling with rage, yet she couldn’t come up with a single word to refute it.
Wasn’t it because Duncan looked down on me back then, thinking my background was insufficient and that I was just a pianist hired to entertain others?
Over the years, I worked hard to raise my status, becoming a renowned, internationally acclaimed pianist to earn the Floyds‘ favor. That’s why I was determined to secure the interview with Z Magazine.
And here, in a public place, Shana is being totally shameless, but I can’t.
She had to swallow her rage, glaring as she made a call to arrange for the money.
Shana, feeling refreshed, sneered and grabbed her bag to leave.
As she exited Gleaming Gems Boutique, she felt a moment of confusion.
Without the angel statue, where could I possibly find a new gift on such short notice?
“Shana, what a coincidence.”
A warm, gentle voice came from behind her.
Shana turned around and saw a gentlemanly figure descending the stairs. He walked up to her with a smile.
“Cyrus, are you here shopping too?”
Cyrus raised the bag he was holding. “Not really. My mother ordered a bracelet here, and I’m just picking

it up for her.”
“I see.” Shana nodded. “So, you saw what happened earlier too?”
Cyrus was honest. “I did.”

“It seems like every time something goes wrong, you’re always there to see it,” Shana remarked with a sigh. “What a strange twist of fate.”
Last time, she was picking on Claire at the Floyd residence, and this time she was pressuring Kate.
“Are you afraid of me acting like this?”
Cyrus smiled lightly. “I actually think you’re great just as you are.”
