Shana was immediately taken aback, her mind filled with questions.

She had gone through so much trouble to find the perfect gift, only for him to belittle her efforts. It was clear he was just looking for an excuse to pick a fight.
“Mr. Floyd, do you assume that everyone operates the same way just because you enjoy finding women outside? Please don’t project your shamelessness onto others. Unlike you, I have some principles and a sense of decency.”
She paused, her voice turning colder, “And if I ever decide to find someone else, I’ll wait until after the divorce. I’ve already wasted three years. I can certainly wait a little longer.”
Exhaustion had frayed her nerves, leaving her unable to maintain her composure. Without sparing him another glance, she turned to head upstairs.
But Henry had no intention of letting her off so easily. He grabbed her arm, forcing her to stop. His piercing dark eyes locked onto hers, icy anger swirling within them. “You’re planning to find someone else?”
The absurdity of his question made Shana laugh. She raised her chin defiantly and said, “What else? Do you expect me to follow you around forever?
“Mr. Floyd, surely you don’t think that after our divorce, I’m supposed to stay chaste and never remarry, all for your sake? Don’t kid yourself.
“Besides, I’m confident my next partner will be great–especially with you serving as a prime example of what to avoid.”
Henry’s expression darkened, his eyes cutting through her like daggers. A moment later, he sneered. “You think you’ll find someone better after me? Shana, you’re the one dreaming!”
Shana was speechless.
Sure, Henry had every reason to be confident, but his arrogance was still shocking. She was too tired to continue the argument. Pulling her arm free, she gave him a sarcastic thumbs–up.
“You’re right, Mr. Floyd. Whatever you say.”
Henry’s lips pressed into a thin, grim line, his body radiating cold anger as he glared at her. He clearly couldn’t stand her attitude and opened his mouth to retort, but before he could speak, his phone rang. Glancing at the screen, he suppressed his temper and answered the call
Shana wasn’t about to stand around and wait. Without a word, she headed, upstairs.
From her hiding spot nearby, Judy had seen the entire scene unfold. She muttered under her breath, “Mr. Henry was obviously worried about Mrs. Floyd, staying up all night just in case something happened to her. So why does he have to make everything so difficult once he sees her? Young people these days, always complicating things.”
Shana quickly showered and collapsed onto the bed, letting out a contented sigh.

She couldn’t resist rolling around a little. After being away for so long, the thing she had missed most was this mattress. When they had furnished the house for their wedding, she had specifically commissioned this custom–made mattress–for a whopping 9 million.
It had been worth every penny. The mattress was unbelievably comfortable, ensuring long periods of deep sleep and erasing all fatigue upon waking.
As she lay there, her thoughts wandered. When the divorce was finalized in six months, she would add one more condition to the agreement: she was taking the mattress with her.
Just as she was drifting off to sleep, the door opened, and Henry walked in.
He had already showered and was dressed in a loose bathrobe, his damp hair falling lazily over his forehead. Water droplets trailed down his half–exposed chest, disappearing beneath the robe in a way that was both effortless and tantalizing.
But Shana had no interest in admiring his looks. In her mind, the agreement to divorce in six months meant they should be sleeping in separate rooms.
Yet here he was, striding over with his long legs, casually lifting the covers as though it were the most natural thing in the world, and lying down next to her.
Shana shot upright, staring at him in disbelief. “Mr. Floyd, do you think it’s appropriate for us to be sharing a bed in our current situation?”
Henry paused for a moment, his dark eyes narrowing as they swept over Shana. A cold smirk tugged at his lips. “You’re right–it’s not appropriate.”
Shana felt a flicker of relief. At least he had enough self–awareness to save her the trouble of arguing further.
Just as she was about to politely tell him to leave, his indifferent voice interrupted her. “But until the divorce is finalized, I have no intention of sleeping in separate rooms. I can’t risk Grandpa finding out. So, if you think sharing a bed is unsuitable, then …
“The floor or the couch–you pick.” *
Shana was speechless.
What kind of logic was this?
“You …” She nearly thought she’d misheard him. “You’re not splitting rooms, and now you’re telling me to sleep on the floor or the couch?”
Henry was finding new ways to infuriate her every single day.
Her temper snapped, and she couldn’t hold back. “Henry, be a man!”
His handsome face remained impassive, showing no sign of irritation. Instead, he suddenly leaned forward, pinning her beneath him before she could react.
Shana’s heart skipped a beat. She pressed her palms against his chest, trying to push him off, but Henry didn’t budge.

He looked down at her, a faint smirk playing on his lips. “You’re really against sleeping on the couch or the floor?”
“Of course I am! Why don’t you go sleep there instead? She retorted without thinking.
“Fine. If you insist on sharing the bed, then so be it,” he replied smoothly as if it were the most reasonable conclusion.
What kind of twisted reasoning was this?
Shana’s heart pounded faster, her face flushing red–not from embarrassment, but from sheer frustration.
However, the disparity in their strength was undeniable. She couldn’t even push him off, let alone shove him out of the bed or the room.
Amid their struggle, Henry’s robe slipped further open, revealing glimpses of his toned chest and abs. Shana wasn’t much better off; her nightgown had been tugged down, exposing her fair collarbone and shoulders.
The quiet of the night made their shallow breaths all the more prominent, filling the air with an undeniable tension.
Shana could feel the heat in Henry’s gaze intensify as it lingered on her.
Frowning, she realized that Henry had never been the type to play fair. If this went on, there was no telling. what might happen.
“Fine! I’ll take the couch, okay?” She finally relented with a sigh of defeat. “Now, can you get off me already?”
A shadow of something unreadable flashed through Henry’s dark eyes before he finally released her.
Suppressing her irritation, Shana grabbed her pillow and blanket and marched over to the couch. Once she settled in, she made a point of turning her back on him.
Luckily, she had handpicked the couch herself–it was wide and supremely comfortable.
Besides, she wouldn’t be stuck sleeping on it for long. Given how rarely Henry was home after they got married, he probably wouldn’t even be around enough to notice in the next six months.
With that comforting thought, she closed her eyes, satisfied.
The next morning, Shana woke to a surprising discovery–she was back in bed.
Glancing to the side, she saw that Henry was already gone.
What the hell happened?
She began to doubt herself. Maybe she had sleepwalked back to the bed in the middle of the night. It couldn’t have been Henry who carried her–no way. Annoyed, she raked her fingers through her hair. If Henry found out, he’d get smug about it.
All this trouble was caused by that d*mn bed.
