Damon had an uncanny ability to bring up exactly what he shouldn’t.

Henry’s icy stare swept over him, sending a chill that seemed to pierce straight to his bones. Without missing a beat, Damon slapped himself lightly and mustered, “Ugh, I’m such an idiot! Why do I always have to be so blunt?”
“Do you really have nothing better to do?”
Though Henry’s voice remained calm, it carried an undeniable threat that silenced Damon instantly. For the sake of his life, he quickly raised his fingers and mimed locking his lips shut.
Still seething from the morning’s events, Henry didn’t even look up from his desk. His tone was frigid as he said, “If you’re not here for anything important, get out. I don’t have the time or patience to entertain.”
Damon stroked his chin thoughtfully. Judging by Henry’s sullen, brooding expression, he was clearly frustrated and unsatisfied–a textbook case of unmet desires.
Damon had predicted this outcome long ago. He had even taken on the role of a prophet, warning Henry of Shana’s determination to break off their relationship. But of course, Henry didn’t believe him.
Now, everything had unfolded just as he said it would.
From childhood until now, Henry had never suffered such a blow. As his closest friend, Damon watched the entire scene unfold with an amused, almost giddy curiosity.
This drama is pure gold! I love it. I hope Henry takes a few more hits–I’m living for this!
He prepared to delve deeper into the details. However, Henry was quick to warn him, “Say one more word, and I’ll send you overseas to manage the business in Drakavia…
Н
“Got it! I’m out of here! Bye!”
Damon wasted no time, turning on his heel to leave.
But before he could take another step, Henry’s low voice called out again, “Come back.”
Damon halted abruptly, spun around, and plastered on a grin. “Mr. Floyd, what else can I do for you? Whatever it is, consider it done!”
Henry smoothly signed off on a document, then looked up, narrowing his dark eyes as he spoke, “Arrange a dinner soon to welcome Cyrus back. It’s been a while since we’ve all gotten together.”
Welcoming dinners were usually Damon’s responsibility, and he’d already, been planning to organize one. He hadn’t expected Henry to bring it up himself–let alone insist on doing it quickly.
Something about the request felt off to Damon.
Then again, Henry had always been aloof. Aside from Damon, Cyrus was probably the only other person Henry was truly close to.
Despite growing up in constant competition, the two never became rivals. Instead, they formed a lasting

friendship.
Even after Cyrus left to study and work abroad, their bond remained strong.
“Okay, I’ll take care of it.”
Henry waved dismissively and said, “You can leave now
Damon was at a complete loss for words.
At that moment, he couldn’t help but deeply empathize with Shana.
Henry really is a b*stard!

After leaving Grant Mansion, Shana dropped Ryan off at home.
Before leaving, she reminded him firmly, “Stay out of trouble. You may have been fortunate this time, but there may not be another chance. I can’t always clean up your messes!”
To her surprise, Ryan didn’t argue back. Instead, he suddenly asked, “Shana, do you know Cyrus?”
He had overheard her conversation with Mrs. Grant earlier.
“Yeah, I know him. Why do you ask?”
Shana gave him a puzzled look. Ryan typically had no interest in people from high society, especially since he didn’t think much of Henry and was often snubbed by the elite crowd.
To her astonishment, his eyes lit up instantly, and his tone turned almost giddy. “Shana, are you close with Cyrus? He’s my idol! Can you get me an autographed photo of him?”
In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a starstruck fanboy.
Shana was stunned. “Wait, aren’t you the one who dislikes people from high society? Didn’t you always say, ‘Birds of a feather flock together,‘ and look down on them? How is Cyrus your idol?”
Ryan, who normally played it cool and rarely argued, retorted without hesitation. “Cyrus is different! He’s smart, well–mannered, and a doctor who saves lives. Even though he comes from wealth, he doesn’t act superior. None of those people can hold a candle to him!”
“And Henry, I don’t see anything about him that stands out compared to my idol. Shana, if Cyrus were your husband, that’d be amazing!”
Shana was speechless at his words.
You can praise your idol all you want, but why drag me into it?
I’m a married woman, and I have no intention of getting involved in any sleazy affair like that b*stard Henry.
I have principles and boundaries, and I stick to them!
She shook her head and dismissed it, saying, “Stop making things up. Cyrus is such a great guy. There’s no

way I’d be fortunate enough to marry him!”

She knew that Cyrus was someone who loved with unwavering devotion, and he had someone in his heart he could never forget.
Ryan shook his head and blurted out, “Why not? Three years ago, if it hadn’t been for…” He suddenly realized something and stopped mid–sentence.
“If it hadn’t been for what?” Shana asked, noticing his odd behavior and pressing him for an answer.
A flicker of conflict crossed Ryan’s eyes, but he ultimately held it in. “It’s nothing. Shana, I promise I won’t cause trouble anymore. I won’t give Henry another excuse to mock you. You can trust me.”
“Also, take care of yourself. When I graduate, I’ll work hard and take care of my parents–and you. I won’t let the Floyd family push you around anymore!”
Shana’s chest tightened as a faint shimmer of tears welled in her eyes.
That little brat Ryan is all grown up now.
She quickly turned away, wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes. When she spoke again, her tone was full of forced bravado. “Come on, who could possibly bully me? Focus on your studies and leave Everything else to me. I’m off.”
With that, she got into the car without looking back.
Shana walked into Moonville Bay, her suitcase in hand. Judy’s eyes lit up as she said cheerfully, “Mrs. Floyd, you’re finally back! Couples never stay mad at each other for long–it’s all about fighting now and making up by bedtime!”
Judy had been their loyal servant since they got married and moved into this house. She was an enthusiastic fan of their marriage. Whenever the two of them argued, Judy would grow even more flustered than they were.
Back when Shana was lovestruck, she wholeheartedly agreed with Judy, finding her words comforting. Now, their words simply irritate her.
Making up by bedtime? Not a chance!
But she still had to keep up the act of being a loving couple with Henry for another six months, so she couldn’t afford to blow her cover now. For the sake of some peace and quiet, she forced an awkward yet polite smile and sent Judy off to pack her bags.
Settling on the sofa, she pulled out her phone, opened WhatsApp, and began drafting a thank–you message to Cyrus.
After all, he had helped her immensely–whether it was buying the apology gift or putting in a good word for her.
Just as she was typing, a noise came from the door.
Shana instinctively looked up and saw Henry’s tall frame at the entryway, slipping into house slippers.

She glanced at her phone to confirm the time. Before she could stop herself, she blurted out, “Mr. Floyd, is the Floyd Group going bankrupt?”
Henry paused mid–action. Then he strode in, hands in his pockets, towering over her with a mocking gaze. “If the Floyd Group were going bankrupt,” he sneered, then your little plan to take the divorce settlement and run would go up in flames, wouldn’t it?”
He never backs down in an argument with me. Fine, there’s no point dragging this out when we’re not on the same wavelength!
Shana rolled her eyes, too irritated to waste any breath on him.
She stood up, heading toward her bedroom–being around him was already testing her patience.
Before she could leave, Henry grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer, his tone firm and commanding. “There’s a private dinner tonight. You’ll come with me to welcome Cyrus.”
The word ‘private‘ was all Shana needed to refuse outright. “Sorry. It’s not happening.”
Their contract only obligated her to fake affection during formal or public events!
If she stayed near him any longer, she feared her temper would get the better of her, and she’d end up cracking his skull open.
She yanked her wrist free and stormed off but abruptly stopped and turned back.
“What did you just say? Repeat that.”
Henry’s expression was still sour from her earlier rejection, and he repeated coldly, “There’s a private dinner tonight. You’re coming with me …
Before he could finish, Shana decisively cut in, “Sure, I’ll go!”
