Once the words were out, Shana watched as Henry’s handsome face darkened, his expression turned grim, the change almost visible to the naked eye.
After all, no man could bear such a question, especially one coming from his own wife.
Yet, for Shana, the pressure in her chest suddenly lifted
Indeed, people can’t waste their energy on inner conflict–they have to let it all out!
Henry glared at her, nearly grinding his teeth as he spat each word with fury. “Shana! Haven’t I satisfied you?
“You sure didn’t seem to have a problem when you were moaning in my bed!”
His words were quite harsh.
Shana’s cheeks flushed slightly.
Of course, that wasn’t entirely true.
As much as she didn’t want to admit it, in their married life, she and Henry were quite compatible. He had never hidden his desires for her.
Because of this, she thought they were really in love with each other for a short time whenever he held her, possessed her, and their bodies were entwined with passion.
But reality was harsh. No matter how many times he slept with her, it was only physical need, not love. There was no connection, no true affection.
Shana refused to let him feel victorious. After giving it some thought, Shana patted his chest in a comforting.manner and said, “Mr. Floyd, according to medical statistics, only 60 percent of women experience sexual climax in marriage. So, for the sake of your dignity, a little performance is sometimes
necessary.
“You’re not an exception. No need to feel insecure. Don’t worry, I won’t go around telling anyone. Just relax and let it go!”
Henry’s face twisted in anger, then curled into a bitter laugh. “Should I thank you for your thoughtfulness?”
“No need for thanks; no need at all. Just a small gesture. But if you insist, how about changing that five percent into ten percent?” Shana said earnestly.
Henry clenched his fists so tightly that the veins in his arms stood out, the, tension palpable.
“Why aren’t you guys coming in?”
The door suddenly opened, and Damon looked at them with surprise, holding up his phone as if he were about to come out and call them.
Shana, who usually didn’t like him much, felt grateful for his interruption. She pretended nothing had happened and casually replied, “We just got here.”

Henry’s expression was still grim, but he looked past Damon’s shoulder into the room.

Cyrus had already arrived. He sat by the coffee table, sipping tea with the grace of a gentleman, every movement a picture of elegance.
His dark eyes narrowed slightly, his emotions hidden behind a mask. He dominantly took Shana’s hand, entwining their fingers as they walked inside together.
Shana felt uncomfortable but had no choice but to endure.
Cyrus rose and nodded to Henry, then his gaze turned to Shana, a fleeting look of admiration crossing his
eyes.
In their previous meetings, she had either been makeup–free or wearing a more mature look.Today, though her makeup was light, she looked fresh and radiant. Her beauty struck straight into his heart.
He smiled slightly. “Henry, Shana, delightful to see you”
Henry furrowed his brows and gave a neutral grunt in response.
Shana, however, greeted him enthusiastically. “Cyrus, it’s good to see you again.”
As she spoke, Henry unexpectedly squeezed her hand, making her frown in confusion.
Is this sc*mbag acting up again?
“Alright, let’s sit down and talk. I’m starving,” Damon urged.
The four of them walked toward the dining table. Shana casually pulled out a chair and was ready to sit down, but Henry’s soft voice stopped her. “Darling, please sit.”
Shana looked over instinctively, jolted with surprise.
Henry had pulled out the chair beside him, adopting an overly courteous and gentlemanly ‘husband‘ persona. Shana swallowed hard.
What’s going on? Is he having some kind of split personality?
Her eyes met his dark gaze, and after a few seconds, she snapped back to reality. Is that his cue to start with the acting?
Ugh, money’s hard to come by, but what else could I do when needed it?
She secretly shivered, forcing a sweet smile and sitting down, awkwardly muttering, “Thank you, hubby.”
Henry gave a faint smile and sat down as well.
Damon widened his eyes in disbelief and glanced back and forth between them. He asked in surprise, “When did you two get so close?”
Weren’t they on the brink of divorce?
Had he missed something?

Henry’s icy gaze shifted to him. He responded with a question, “When were we ever not close?”
Shana internally scoffed. Who would believe that?
Cyrus may have glanced at him, or perhaps he didn’t.

Only Damon, with confusion written all over his face, was left wondering when they’d ever been close.
About to argue, Damon suddenly felt the weight of Henry’s deadly glare on him. He froze, realizing the danger of speaking out of turn.
The key to living a long life was to eat more and talk less.
For his own safety, he decided to say nothing and changed the subject. “Uh, waiter, bring the food, please.”
When it came to food, Damon ranked second to none. The dishes he ordered were delicious to look at, with perfect balance in taste, color, and aroma.
Shana, who was a bit of a foodie at heart, immediately felt her appetite stir. She grabbed her fork and dug in eagerly.
After all, there was no need to keep up a ladylike facade in front of Henry anymore.
Seeing her devour the food, Henry’s brow furrowed. During lunch earlier, she couldn’t eat a thing, but now, with Cyrus around, she was devouring her food. Was it that she only had an appetite in front of him?
Henry couldn’t help but glance over at Cyrus, who was watching Shana with a faint smile, seemingly amused by her appetite.
Something pricked at his heart, and he felt a wave of irritation, though he hid it perfectly. He speared a piece of broccoli with his fork and placed it on Shana’s plate.
“Darling, if you like it, eat more,” he said, his voice soft but carrying a certain weight.
Shana’s response was silent, her expression stiff.
Soon, he added more food to her plate, nearly filling it up.
Damon noticed this and couldn’t resist making a sarcastic remark. “Come on, give us single people a break. We came here to eat, not to witness your public affection.”
Henry’s dark eyes flickered briefly toward Cyrus before speaking. “You two are getting old, too. It’s time to settle down and save your parents from constantly nagging you about it.”
Damon raised his eyebrows dramatically. He taunted, “Oh, wow, I didn’t expect you to be the one pushing for marriage. Do all married people have that annoying habit?”
Cyrus simply smiled faintly, his expression calm and unbothered. He didn’t reply, but his silence spoke volumes.
Henry glanced at the food he had served to Shana, only to see that she hadn’t touched any of it, pushing it aside instead. His gaze grew cold.
Suppressing his anger, he leaned close to her ear, his voice low but commanding, “Why aren’t you eating?

Or is it that you can’t eat the food I gave you?”
His tone was calm, but it carried a subtle pressure, an un
