They didn’t care about her at all.
“I can’t help,” she said decisively.
“Dottie, he’s your brother…”
Dorothy could no longer hold back. She snapped, “Dwayne cheated on me! He even had a son with his mistress! She’s gonna replace me soon! How am I supposed to ask him for a favor now? Huh?!”
Bryson and Gianna froze in place.
She slammed the door and left while they were still in a daze.
As the evening approached, Dwayne finished dealing with company matters and drove to the hospital. He stopped slightly as he walked past Dorothy’s office.
He thought, “I’m just here to question her whether she said something to Grandma.
“That’s all.”
“Mr. Lambert, are you here to see Dr. Acosta?” A nurse passing by was a bit surprised to see him.
He replied calmly, “I’m here to discuss something with her.”
“But she’s left already.”
Turning around, he asked, his voice low, “Left?”
He furrowed his brows.
Dorothy never left early.
“Dwayne!”
Just then, Sonia trotted toward him with a grin. “You’re done with your meeting?”
He nodded.
Glancing at the closed door of Dorothy’s office, Sonia linked arms with him. “Are you here for me, Dwayne? But this isn’t my
office.”
The nurse standing not far away from them seemed awkward.
She thought, “Was I wrong? Mr, Lambert isn’t here to see Dr. Acosta?”
“He’s here for Dr. Frazier?”
