Worried that he might say no, she added, “You’ve got nothing to worry about. It’s just temporary, and no one else will know ”
Dwayne stared at her, his gaze scrutinizing.
She had to brace herself to meet his gaze. Clenching her fists slightly, she asked tentatively, “Dwayne, are you … mad?”
“Listing him as my son won’t be appropriate,” he said, his expression unchanged. “I can ask my mother to adopt him as her
stepson.”
Sonia was stunned.

“So, Brenden is gonna be Dwayne’s brother?
“What will that make me?”

Sonia clenched her fists tightly.
