My Father 140

Chapter 140

Enzo turned toward me, eyes dark and soft at the same time. He reached out slowly, gently taking my hand in his

But we came,he said. We will always come.”

I was so scared,I said, my voice cracking. But thinking of you threeit’s what kept me awake. It’s what made me fight.”

Enzo’s grip tightened

I’m never letting you out of my sight again,he said quietly. I don’t care what it takes. You’re ours, Aria. And anyone who tries to take you away againthey’ll regret it.”

I looked at him, really looked. His face was tired, bruised in places. But his eyes were steady

In that moment, I knew something had changed

They weren’t just protecting me anymore..

They were mine

And I was theirs

The room was warm, safe, and quiet but I couldn’t stop shaking

I sat on the edge of the bed, a blanket wrapped tightly around me. My wrists stung, raw from the ropes. Every sound made me jump. Footsteps outside the room, the soft creak of the door, even the hum of the air conditioner felt too loud

Enzo had carried me out of that van like I was something fragile. I had wanted to be strong, to walk on my own, but my legs didn’t work. Matteo had stayed close, his hand on my shoulder, grounding me. Dante didn’t say much, but his eyesthey burned like fire. All three of them looked ready to burn the world down

They brought me home. Home. I didn’t even know when that word had started to mean their place

Enzo sat across the room now, watching me. Not talking, not moving. Just watching. There was worry in his eyes, and something else- something that felt like guilt

I should’ve gotten there sooner,he said suddenly. His voice was quiet, rough

I shook my head, too tired to argue. You came. That’s all that matters.”

His jaw tightened. He stood and walked over, kneeling in front of me. No. It’s not. They touched you. They hurt you.”

I’m okay,I whispered, even though I wasn’t. My body ached. My face throbbed from the slap. My soul felt scraped raw

He reached out and gently took my hand. I flinched. I didn’t mean to. His eyes darkened

I’ll kill them all,he said. Every single one

I didn’t answer. I didn’t want to hear about blood and vengeance. Not now. I just wanted to sleep. But I couldn’t. Not yet

After a while, they made me eat. Just a little. Soup, warm and bland. My stomach twisted, but I forced it down. Matteo sat with me, talking softly about nothing. I was grateful for that. No questions. No pressure. Just presence

Chapter 140

Later, Dante brought me a change of clothes and stayed outside the bathroom door while I changed. I looked in the mirror and almost didn’t recognize myself. My face was pale. My eyes were hollow. The bruise on my cheek looked angry

1 touched my reflection. Then looked away

Now, I lay under the covers, clean but still feeling dirty. I had taken two showers, scrubbed until my skin was pink. It didn’t help

The room was dark except for a small lamp by the bed. I could hear them outside. Arguing softly

It was planned, Dante said. They weren’t just looking for money.”

No. They wanted her, Enzo said. They knew exactly where she’d be.”

My heart thudded. I held my breath

We need names, Matteo said. We need to find who gave the order.”

There was a pause. Then Enzo spoke again

This wasn’t just about us. Someone wanted her.”

My eyes stung. I curled tighter under the blanket

They were right

Deep down, I had known it the moment they put a bag over my head. This wasn’t random. This wasn’t some mistake

Someone out there was looking for me

And now they knew where to find me

I stared at the ceiling, the quiet voices of the triplets still murmuring beyond the door

I didn’t know who it was. I didn’t know why

But I wasn’t just a girl caught in their storm

Some part of me was the reason it had started
