What Twitter drama?
Rachel looked completely lost–she hadn’t seen anything trending.
She wasn’t really into social media drama anyway. Unless someone texted or called her directly, she rarely checked online. Most of it was just people desperate for attention with their clickbait bullshit.
So when Sharlene mentioned something trending, Rachel was totally clueless.
She was genuinely confused.
But then remembering her coworkers‘ weird stares earlier, it all clicked.
This trending thing was about her?
Seeing her confusion, Sharlene quickly explained, “Ana, someone posted photos last night saying you’re a homewrecker who destroyed some guy’s relationship. Twitter is absolutely losing its mind right now.”
Because of that jewelry competition drama before, Rachel had gotten some minor internet fame. The internet never forgets, so people remembered her.
Who would’ve thought that barely two months later, she’d be getting dragged as a mistress? You really can’t judge people.
Clearly talent and character weren’t related.
Twitter was having a complete meltdown with everyone dragging Rachel.
“This bitch should be canceled. She doesn’t deserve to be a designer–her jewelry probably smells like desperation.”
“Ugh, I hate women like this. Probably fucked her way to the top.”
“Yeah, that dude looks like he owns a jewelry company or something.”
“This is so gross. Women like her should be banned from the industry. Absolutely shameless.”
Whether it was coordinated or just bots, tens of thousands of hate comments were flooding in.
Sharlene was freaking out watching it all unfold. She pulled out her phone and showed Rachel.
Rachel paused, then took the phone to scroll through.
The photos were obviously edited with really strategic angles.
They were from last night’s fashion gala–specifically when Jasper had cornered her on the balcony and wouldn’t leave her alone.
Rachel had clearly been trying to get away from him, constantly pulling back..
But whoever took these photos didn’t capture that. Instead, they made it look like they were having some intimate moment.
The balcony lighting was dim but clear enough to see faces. Especially Rachel’s–whoever shot this really wanted to make sure she was recognizable, with multiple close–ups.
The comments were absolutely brutal and disgusting.
When Rachel saw the photos, she was momentarily stunned but quickly got her shit together.
Someone from the gala had taken these.
Chapter 122
She already had a pretty good idea who. Besides Valeria, she couldn’t think of anyone else with this level of vindictive bullshit.
She’d seen Valeria lurking around when she came back from the balcony.
What a psychotic bitch.
If you’re gonna frame someone, at least make it believable. Calling her a homewrecker?
Talk about projection.
Who was really the one breaking up relationships here?
If this was Valeria’s doing, she was basically signing her own death warrant.
Rachel’s expression went ice–cold. Had she been way too nice to these people?
Seeing Rachel’s face getting darker, Sharlene asked nervously, “Ana, what are we gonna do about this?”
Rachel replied calmly, “Don’t stress about it. I’ll handle this. Just get back to work.”
こ
Sharlene looked shocked. “Ana, this is trending right now. If we don’t do damage control ASAP, this is gonna get way worse.”
Shouldn’t they at least put out a statement or something?
If this kept snowballing, it would be totally out of control.
Sharlene genuinely believed Rachel wasn’t that kind of person. She’d never break up someone’s relationship.
Even though she hadn’t known Rachel that long, she completely trusted her character.
She just couldn’t understand why someone would try to destroy her like this.
‘Seriously, don’t worry. The truth always comes out,” Rachel said with complete calm.
