Rachel sat in her office, looking at the flood of clarifications on her computer screen, and let out a quiet breath.
Sharlene burst in excitedly. “Ana! This is amazing! The truth finally came out!”
Rachel smiled slightly, but her eyes remained calm and calculating.
“This isn’t over yet,” she said softly, her fingertips drumming on the desk like she was plotting something.
Sharlene blinked. “You mean… there are still people who haven’t been caught?”
Rachel looked up, a cold smile playing at her lips. “Yeah, whoever got arrested was obviously just a fall guy. But that’s fine–let them keep playing games. Next time they won’t be so lucky.”
Sharlene nodded like she kind of got it. “Right, good always wins over evil. Karma’s gonna get them next time.”
Everyone thought the drama was over, but Valeria’s life was about to get very uncomfortable.
Sharpson had summoned her home.
The Campbell family living room was tense as hell right now.
Valeria sat on the couch like a scolded child, barely daring to breathe.
She had no idea what this was about. Sharpson had just ordered her to come home immediately.
Valeria glanced at Whitney, hoping for some clue about what was going on.

Valeria hadn’t thought it through when she used her backup phone to contact them. She didn’t carry it regularly and had agreed they’d only contact her for emergencies.
But when Rhodes Global went nuclear, everyone panicked and tried calling Valeria. When she didn’t answer, they came to the house.
Sharpson happened to be home, and when he learned what had happened, he nearly had a heart attack.

And she’d been stupid enough to leave a paper trail?
If these people ratted her out to Cassian, the Campbell family would be finished.

Even though Sharpson didn’t like Rachel, she clearly had some connection to Cassian. Despite her denials, Cassian’s reaction today proved there was something there.
Especially since Sharpson still wanted to do business with Rhodes Global, he couldn’t let Valeria fuck that up.
“Honey, calm down,” Whitney tried to soothe him.
She’d never seen Sharpson this angry before, and it was genuinely scary.
“This is your fault for spoiling her rotten!” Sharpson turned on Whitney next.
Whitney felt hurt but didn’t dare fight back. Damn that Rachel–why wouldn’t she just disappear?
Valeria stood there silently, but her hands were clenched into fists, nails digging into her palms, eyes burning with resentment and rage.
