I laughed and shook my head as I walked off set, Shan following behind me.
“Good job to you too, and yeah, I think we nailed it,” I told her as I smiled and thanked the crew while passing them “Though I actually think you hit me when I pushed you down.”
I showed her my lip, marked from the last kiss we did, displaying where her teeth had sloppily bitten me from doing the scene five times before getting it right on the sixth. She kept getting distracted.
Her face flushed bright pink and she punched me lightly in the arm, making me grin.
“You’re so mean. And here I thought you wouldn’t make fun of me, she pouted. “It’s my first time doing a scene like that, I’m still a Ettle embarrassed. I’m not used to it.”
She admitted it with red cheeks, and I chuckled.
It was kind of adorable, the way she got flustered. But that’s all it was. Adorable. Nothing more. I never felt that pull everyone always talked about. Not with her. Not with any girl.
When I made it to my changing room and started undoing my shirt, I realized Shan had followed me all the way in there. I looked at her in confusion just as her eyes widened in realization.
“Uh… sorry, um, good work today, Nikolai,” she stuttered, clearly ambarrassed. “Ser e you tomorrow!” she shouted before tuming and slamming the door cloud behind her.

I didn’t see Shan like that. There was no spark between is at least not for me. I knew how the felt about me, but there wait much I could de i other than ignore it for now. Because the truth was, I had never felt that kind of pull tmsend a girl. Not even once. Not with Shan, not with simply didn’t move me the way Alessandro did.
And that was the real issue, wasn’t it?
Because no matter how convincing I was on screen, kissing, touching, pretending to crave, it was all performance. A mask. It had been two weeks since I heard anything from Alessandro, too. Since that night when he woke up and realised that he had slept in my room, I hadn’t gotten a single text or call since we last spoke… since he left without even saying goodbye. Yes he shockingly didnt say goodbye to me. I didn’t know what. happened to him when he woke up in my room.
Ava had kept me busy, so 1 hadn’t had time to sleep, never mind think about a certain billionaire pain in my ass.
I’d been so packed with photoshoots for the show Love You to Death and interviews, since the first episode was going live that night, that I hadn’t really enjoyed any time off for myself.
Once word got out that 1 was playing the male lead in the most talked–about TV show online, starring alongside none other than America’s sweetheart, Shan Carly, gossip reporters, critics, and even directors had been fighting for interviews and a shot at working with me.
The feedback had been good so far, and Ava told me I had a large online fanbase from playing the bad boy Connor Whitlock, who pursued the angelic good girl loselyn possessively while school drama enfolded around them–and even as he turned out to be one of her stalkers.
The plot was dark, twisted, and filled with steamy scenes, making it an instant hit especially since Shan had never done anything like it in her career. She had only ever played the girl–next–door in light romance and drama. This was her first intense role.
