Chapter 129
Athena’s POV
It’s late, at least I think it’s late. Currently asleep within a warm bed within a local hotel within the Capital, Elise and Cara both in separate rooms with Iris and Addison. Emma in the second bed opposite of me currently asleep.
My heart missing my mates and my family as I continue to sleep, or at least it’s what I try to do before being summoned further into dreamland.
-Athena’s Dream-
“Where am I?” I whisper, my eyes taking in a strange setting. Not one I was currently familiar with as I continued to watch the surrounding area.
“It’s the place of war sweet child” replies the voice that I instantly knew all too well.
“Mother Moon?” I gasp, my eyes now moving to greet her as she appears before me.
“Yes, sweet child, it is I” chuckles the Moon Goddess, her eyes showing hints of humor within them as she spoke.
Then as if remembering my previous question I move to look back at my surroundings, my eyes taking in the vast empty field and the sight of a blood red moon. The moon full, as it sat high within it.
“Why is the Moon red?” I ask curiously to Mother Moon.
“It’s the Hunter’s Moon,” admits Mother Moon.
“Hunter’s Moon?”
“Yes. It happens during a total Lunar Eclipse. And with such things bring Chaos, Disruption and Change. Hopefully change for the better” replies Mother Moon.
Suddenly, as if not liking the whole chaos and disruption thing, I move to look back at the Hunter’s Moon. Trying to figure out when it
would come to pass.
“When’s the Hunter’s Moon?”
“In exactly 2 months from now. Just shortly after your 20th Birthday.”
At the mention of my birthday I freeze. Not realizing that it was coming up so soon as I had never once celebrated my birthday before due
to uncontrolled situations after being forced to live with my aunt and uncle,
Breathe, I whisper to myself, having sensed the increase in heart rate while wondering if the Moon Goddess could feel or sense it too and if she did, then she masked it well. And if she didn’t then I would not openly show her how unnerved I was about my upcoming birthday.
“Relax sweet child. I can sense your uneasiness.”
Shocked at hearing that, I try to ease my racing heart until the hand of the Moon Goddess moves to touch my shoulder, her hand bringing me slowly back to reality as she does.
“Relax. No need to fear or worry. I know your birthday brings back terrible memories of your childhood but your mates, your family would never do anything to hurt you and you know that” whispers Mother Moon, as she tries to help steady me back into reality.
Taking another slow deep breath I finally move to relax long enough to sigh.

Chapter 129.
“I know. Thank you Mother Moon.”
Smiling at my words, she moves to hug me gently within her arms. Her arms reminding me of my mother’s and when she would hug me.
I miss her, I think, suddenly feeling tears rise at the memory of my mother, as I slowly refuse to let myself cry.
“What’s the matter, sweet child?”
“1-1 miss my mother” I whimper out finally.
Then as if sensing my pain, my discomfort does another set of arms move to wrap themselves around my waist before pulling me over to them as I slowly find myself surrounded by warmth. A warmth I had not felt since I was 9 years old.
“M–Mom?” I choke, not wanting to risk looking just yet.
“Yes my brave little girl. It’s mom. Don’t worry” whispers the voice of my mother, tears now bursting from within my eyes suddenly.
“Shhh… It’s okay. Everything will be okay I promise.”
Attempting to nod my head, I continue to simply cling to her, the Moon Goddess watching us silently as she moves to give me this moment, a moment I’ve longed for since losing her.
“I miss you Mommy. Daddy too”
“I know you do my dear sweet Athena. Our brave little warrior. Your father and I want to let you know that we are so very proud of you. For adopting that sweet little boy to giving birth to your own set of triplets, to everything you’ve basically accomplished.” admits my
mother.
“I wish you had been there for it” I move to say back to her knowing it was true.
“We were. Maybe not physically but we were always watching over you sweetheart. Even when you at least expected it we were always watching you. Guiding you in doing what was right and while it pains us we know you’re in good hands now. Between having your mates to those of your uncles, we know you’ll always be protected no matter what.”
“But… But-” I try only to be shushed by my mother’s finger.
“No buts. I know life hasn’t always been nice to you, And I see that now. Especially after seeing the way my sister and her family have treated you in the past. But for now we need you to be strong. Strong for those pups and strong to face the challenges that will continue
to test you.”
“Test me?” I now ask, suddenly curious as I move to finally look over to my mother, her eyes much like my own except wiser, almost like that of the Moon Goddess herself.
“Yes.. While Lily does pose a threat to you now. A greater threat lurks further deep within the shadows. The Council wants you. For what I do not know but they do. There will even come a time when other white wolves begin to appear before your very eyes, each coming out from hiding. And when they do they’ll need a Queen. A Leader. Someone who can guide and protect them. Can you do that for me my
dear?”
Staring at her in awe, I only nod. Wanting to show my mother that she could trust me to handle those challenges when they rose. To be the Queen that everyone needed me to be, the one I was destined to be. To be the Queen that my mates and my pack needed me to be, that my uncles needed me to be. And of course my children.
Seeing me nod, she moves to smile, her hand coming to cup my cheek gently. “That’s my girl. My brave sweet girl.”
Then as if time was now against me does my mother and the Moon Goddess begin to stand as one. Both now standing before me as I try not to cry at seeing them slowly fade from view.

“Remember dear Athena. Your parents are always with you, watching you. That I’m always with you. Now he he. The tiger that to come will happen during the next full moon, the Hunter’s Moon. Be teady” was all that I heard as both finally bem, wafed no dreams as I try to mentally prepare myself for what was about to come Var.

Hardening my gaze, I slowly move to nod my head. Knowing exactly what I needed to do in order to protect those that I loved
