Chapter 97
Ares POV
It wasn’t even 30 minutes into coming home when all of a sudden I had felt the most excruciating pain ever. A pain so fierce that I was almost on my knees from all the pain, Kai having seen the way I had reacted does he all but grab ahold of me.
“A–Athena…” I grunt out, knowing that if I was feeling this much pain then so was Eros.
“Alpha… Are you okay?” asks Kai, trying hard not to panic as he attempts to help me stand. Ignoring him though I move to contact Eros.
‘Yo. Did you feel that? That crippling pain just now?‘
‘Fuck! Yes! Who or what was that?‘ groans Eros, having clearly been brought to his knees as well by whatever it was, my thoughts now drifting back to Athena.
‘A–Athena…‘ I attempt to say only for a female voice to ring out with panic across our minds.
‘ARES! EROS! HELP! 1-1 can’t wake Athena! She’s screaming out in pain. Please, I need help!‘ begs Artemis to her mates as if she truly
couldn’t wake Athena up from her nap. Fear and worry now gripping at my chest as it did.
‘Relax Artemis… We’ll be there soon‘ was all I could tell her as I all but pushed myself back into a standing position.
Once in a standing I all but move to turn back around before dashing back towards the room, Eros not far behind me as I gradually move
to approach, fear attempting to rise as I did.
A second later, I all but spot Eros. “Eros” I move to say with urgency.
“Ares” replies Eros, the same urgency met as he moves to approach me
Just then, before anything else can be said, another ear piercing scream all but sounds from deep within the room, the need to rush in all but evident as we all but barge right in, not caring about knocking as this was our room and our mate needed us.
“ATHENA!” cries Eros and I, having just entered the room only to see Athena now up in the bed, gripping her belly, tears staining her face
as she looks to us with relief.
“Athena” we move to say again, moving over to her side with urgency. The need to be with her was evident the closer we got to her.
“Ares… Eros…” cries Athena, drawing our attention over to her. The bed clearly soaked in what I can only assume is water. “The babies… there… there coming” was all I managed to hear as Athena doubled over in pain, another pain filled scream all but rising past her lips as it finally dawned on us that she was going into labor.
“Hold on Love… Hang in there”
Six words, Six words that I hoped would offer her comfort as I all but move to pick up my beautiful wife. Knowing that labor wasn’t the only thing that worried me, but the fact that her pain and Artemis’s worry was evident within my mind, unsure of what was happening at
the moment.
‘We need to talk to mate. Something is wrong and it’s not just labor‘ replies Zeus, having been able to sense her pain as well.
Later! Right now we need to get her over to the Pack Hospital‘ I say, concern now etched in my voice as I all but move to dismiss Zeus. Knowing he was right but knowing that now wasn’t the time nor the place to be asking such questions was all we needed to know before rushing for the Hospital.

Chapter 97
The moment we had all but arrived over at the Hospital was a moment we took when spotting the stretcher, three nurses as well as her doctor all but standing at the front as we moved to approach them, Athena whimpering as we did.
*Shhh, easy love. They’re here to help you” I move to tell her, a nurse attempting to strap her in before attempting to whisk her away.
“My Alpha… Please you have to let her go, she’ll be fine I can assure you” replies one of the nurses, having seen how long I had been holding her as they all but attempted to leave with her.
“Sorry” I murmur, embarrassed, my eyes now watching as Athena is now whisked away from me and Eros as she’s taken behind two large doors.
Athena… Oh Moon… Please look after my mate, my Luna, and above all my wife, I all but plead with the Moon Goddess. The urge to chase after her all but winning. Knowing that she was having a C–Section to help with the delivery process for when a wolf had twins or more the Hospitals within that pack would always lean towards that method other than the natural birth not wanting to risk the lives of both the mother and child.
It was also away to ensure that each child was delivered safe and sound without any casualties. Plus, being a wolf also meant you healed much quicker once being cut open for we never used silver on any of our wolves especially in the medical field for silver was considered bad to many wolves as it often killed them.
Lost in thought I all but fail to notice when Eros moves to approach me, his hand now coming to rest against my shoulder as he all but did, drawing my attention over to him in the process.
“Don’t worry brother… Athena will be fine. She’s in good hands” assures Eros, attempting to offer me support where he could.
“Thanks Eros, I needed that” I say, knowing that it was indeed true and I all but needed the reminder, for our mate was indeed strong, so strong that she would fight and come out on top in the end.
With renewed strength do we move to sit within the waiting room. Knowing that our parents as well as her uncles all needed to know about this as I all but moved to contact my parents.
‘Mom, Dad are you there?‘ I say, tapping into the bond that connected us, hoping to get in contact with them as I did.
‘Of course we are‘ answers mom.
‘What’s up son? You sound distraught‘ admits father, catching the tone difference within my voice.
Sighing, I move to tell them. ‘Athena’s in the Hospital. Her water broke and is currently in labor and delivery. Please… Eros and I need you along with Adrian, can you please come over to the Hospital?‘
‘But of course son‘ replies mother, her voice unwavering as she moves to reply back.
‘Of course. Did you honestly think we’d miss this opportunity to meet our Grandchildren? You must be crazy‘ was all my dad says, hoping to get his point across as he did.
‘Thanks dad. Oh and dad?‘ I move to say quickly knowing he’d have better luck than I probably would given my current state.
‘Yes son?‘
‘Could you grab Alex and Rick along the way too? They really should be here as well‘ I admit to him.
But of course I can son. Be there soon‘
Sighing again, I all but move my focus over towards the double doors, Athena having all been whisked away all but minutes ago all but made me worry, the need to know what was going on all but rising as I try hard not to barge right in.
