Chapter 134

Third Person’s POV

She quickly withdrew her wrist, her silverblue pupils scanning the graytemples Omega Susan beside her

The elder Omega’s wolf was in poor shape, its pheromones were intermittent, so she wouldn’t target it. Instead, she glanced up and ordered a burly wolfman guard to enter

Priscilla’s fingers caressed the wolfhead crest ringa symbol of her status as a royal priestess

Slapping someone upon meeting was a grave insult

Priscilla wanted to see how much backbone this shewolf, abandoned by Ulrik, truly had

She aimed to intimidate Adelaide into backing down, making it clear this slap was just the beginning

A bearlike wolfman guard marched in, frostwolf totems on his pauldrons still dusted with unmelted

snow

Upon receiving the order, he growled and swung his massive palm, reeking of sulfur pheromones, toward Adelaide’s face

Had the slap landed, it could fracture an ordinary shewolf’s cheekbone

Yet before his palm even touched her skin, a overwhelming giant wolf aura erupted from Adelaide

She didn’t lift a finger; her stillhealing silver moon sigil on her nape emitted a cold glow

The guard was thrown back by an invisible force, crashing into an ornate chair and breaking it

Blood gushed from his throat, staining the moonstone floor a dark red. He nearly fainted from the pain

Priscilla’s goosebumps stood on end, a chill running through her tailbone

She watched in shock as Adelaide remained motionless, her skirt not even fluttering. Only the Moon Goddess necklace at her collarbone gleamed faintly

The wolf guards hurriedly removed the injured guard, but his blood spilled onto Priscilla’s chair. Despite the Omegas vigorously wiping it, a bloody stench lingered

Priscilla, averse to filth, would never sit there again

Fortunately, replacement chairs were readily available

But Adelaide’s display stunned everyone in the hall. Omega Susan, speechless and trembling, supported Priscilla

As Priscilla sat back down, she felt an overwhelming suffocation from Adelaide’s stunning presencea feeling she’d once sensed from her son

Adelaide exuded the dignity of a wolf general

Fresh from the battlefield, Priscilla imagined hearing the sounds of combat

This only fueled her resentment

Taking a deep breath, Priscilla coldly declared, You know your place. You’re unworthy of my son. I’ll overlook your insolence today for your Southern Border merits. She paused, expecting gratitude

Adelaide raised her head, chin slightly lifted, her expression grave. Thank you. As for whether I match Alpha Lance, that’s his call.”

Infuriated, Priscilla retorted, He’s blinded now, but he’ll come to his senses. You’re abandoned goods. Once his infatuation fades, he’ll discard you. You’ll lose everything. I’m warning you for your own good.”

Adelaide clarified, My mate bond with Ulrik was dissolved, not rejected or broken. I initiated it. If anyone abandoned, it was me leaving him, not the Bloodmoon Pack abandoning me. Still, I appreciate your

concern.”

Priscilla sneered, No matter who abandoned whom, you’ve had a mate.”

Adelaide countered, The Moon Goddess allows Second Chances, proving she doesn’t limit each wolf to one mate. Even royal Lycans have multiple lovers.”

Lycan Erasmus himself said at the victory banquet that all shewolves should emulate me.”

Priscilla scoffed, You’re quite the smooth talker. If all shewolves were like you, the world would be in chaos.”

You think you’re a role model because of a few military merits?Priscilla sneered, What about shewolves who can’t go to war? Does that mean they can’t live?”

This sounded familiar to Adelaide. She had once asked Velda similarly

Adelaide calmly shot back, A role model doesn’t mean every shewolf must fight. Lycan Erasmus praised my indomitable will, not just my battlefield achievements.”

Nonsense!Priscilla slammed the armrest

This is Erasmus’s view. If you disagree, take it up with him,Adelaide said evenly

Priscilla sneered, So you’ve charmed Lance with your beauty and wit? Your highminded words mask a scheming heart. I know your gameyou’re from a declining pack, alone, abandoned by the Bloodmoon Pack. You’re angling to attach yourself to royalty, to make those who once mocked you jealous and envious. You want to use your status to get back at them.”

Adelaide smiled faintly, her eyes cold. You overthink, Priscilla. If I wanted revenge, I wouldn’t need to rely on anyone.”
