Third Person’s POV
Priscilla snapped, “What are you implying? Would Madison stoop to coveting your pink diamonds? They’re valuable, but her family has plenty. Besides, her family lacks for nothing.”
Adelaide gave a dry chuckle, “Fine, we’ll see.”
Priscilla seized the chance to rebuke her, saying sharply, “How dare you slander Madison like this? When we return to the Blackthorn Pack, I’ll punish you severely.”
Adelaide rolled her eyes and ignored her, waiting to see who would end up embarrassed.
The carriage pulled up to Madison’s manor. After the werewolf guard announced their arrival, he returned with an apologetic look. “Priscilla, Luna Adelaide, I apologize. I forgot that Madison has gone out today.”
Priscilla said to Adelaide, “In that case, let’s head back. We’ll send a visit request first and return tomorrow.”
Adelaide asked the guard, “Do you know where Madison went and when she’ll be back?”
The guard replied, “I’m not sure. She might be back late.”
Adelaide said, “No problem. We’ll just wait.”
With that, she took Priscilla’s hand and headed inside.
The guard shouted, “Priscilla, Luna Adelaide, this is Madison’s home. You can’t just barge in like this.”
Adelaide smiled and said, “We’re here for a visit. Waiting in her home for her return isn’t barging in. Does your living room not entertain guests?”
The guard, aware of Adelaide’s strong personality, didn’t find her smile reassuring in the least.
While he was at a loss, Adelaide had already pulled Priscilla inside.
Priscilla struggled all the way, “Have you no manners? She’s not here. What are you waiting for inside? Till nightfall?”
“I’ll wait till tomorrow if needed,” Adelaide shot back with a sharp glance.
A sharp glance from Adelaide silenced them. “Priscilla, Susan, I’m not leaving today without those diamonds,” she declared.
Priscilla huffed, “You said I could have the diamonds. Once they’re mine, I’ll decide when to retrieve them.”
“Suit yourself,” Adelaide replied,/releasing Priscilla’s wrist.
But Priscilla couldn’t possibly leave her alone here.
Adelaide wasn’t an easy person to deal with. If she offended Madison on Priscilla’s behalf, it would be problematic.
Madison wasn’t someone to cross casily.
“Alright. I’ll wait here with you. Are you satisfied now?”
Priscilla said curtly, striding inside while grumbling about how Madison wouldn’t appreciate being offended.
Adelaide truly didn’t understand what Priscilla was thinking–was her brain made of oatmeal?
Clarissa must have had her hands full with her over the years. Adelaide felt exhausted just thinking about it on Clarissa’s behalf.
Once in the living room, they sat down. The omega servants didn’t dare to slack off.
Everyone in Madison’s family knew Priscilla was easy to handle, but Adelaide, the new Alpha Lance’s mate, was a different story. She was the type who might actually come to settle scores.
The omega served afternoon tea and sweets, with attendants on standby.
Adelaide glanced around Madison’s living room. Marble floors, lavish decor, exquisite chairs lined the walls, their delicate carvings gleaming.
A massive landscape painting dominated the wall opposite the entrance.
To the right of the living room was a pearl–curtained doorway leading to a side hall–a touch of opulence.
Everything showcased the Madison family’s wealth.
Indeed, such luxury must cost a fortune.
Just maintaining the staff would be expensive.
As a royal Lycan descendant, she could have five hundred wolf pack warriors. Her manor was built to match this scale.
Originally, this wasn’t permitted, but the former Lycan King never objected, and now Lycan Erasmus wouldn’t either.
Five hundred werewolf warriors meant expenses for their food, clothing, shelter, and transportation.
Moreover, she was the city’s most enthusiastic host, often holding banquets to solidify her connectic there.
Her guests were all wealthy and influential. Whether tea or meals, everything had to be exquisite.
If guests brought children, she would give them gifts. Over time, could her manor truly maintain such genuine wealth?
If she were truly so wealthy, she wouldn’t keep taking advantage of the naive Priscilla.
After sitting for a while without touching the coffee or sweets, Adelaide suddenly stood up and said she wanted to tour the manor.

Ordinary servants couldn’t stop her either. She swiftly evaded their attempts to block her and strode toward the inner courtyard.
After several failed intercepts, as Adelaide approached a certain courtyard in the inner yard, someone shouted loudly, “Madison is back!”
