Nathan spent the whole time casually toying with a lighter, a cigarette hanging lazily from his lips. Meanwhile, Dominick was the one deep in negotiations with Benjamin.
“Mr. Benjamin, I’ve got the contract all set up just like we discussed, no changes to the terms. Take a look, and if everything’s cool, we can go ahead and sign,” Dominick said, practically bending over backward, treating Benjamin like some kind of royalty.
Behind his sunglasses, Nathan exchanged a knowing look with the other secretary, both unimpressed by Dominick’s behavior. But Benjamin was eating it up. “Dominick, no need to rush the contract. I’ll have my team give it another look. If it’s all good, we’ll sign then. In the meantime, why don’t we head over to our Rowland Inc. restaurant for lunch? It’ll be a good chance to chat and get to know each other better.”
Dominick, always the social butterfly, nodded eagerly. “Benjamin, you’re too generous. We’ve got a crowd, so let’s not put you out. Next time you’re on my turf, I’ll roll out the red carpet for you.”
The two were soon acting like best buds, almost ready on the spot.

Nathan couldn’t stand the sight, so he turned to Ford. He whispered, “I’d rather hang out with you. At least you’re not one to brown–nose.”
Ford, ever the straight shooter, replied, “Sir, folks often say I look like a bit of a fool.”
Nathan, while he might joke around with his own brothers, wouldn’t let others talk them down. “Well, those folks don’t look half as sharp as you, the supposed fool.”
Ford beamed, taking it as a compliment.
After a bit of banter, Dominick somehow managed to flatter Benjamin into a tizzy, leaving him a bit lost in the conversation.
Benjamin, full of bravado, claimed, “Dominic, in the Capital, I’m the top dog of my generation. Choosing to work with me is your best bet. Right now, in the Capital, I’m the only one who can handle an order this big.”
Dominick’s flattery was next–level. “Benjamin, you’re clearly destined for greatness. This order is a goldmine, and this wealth is yours to grab. Soon, you’ll be the talk of the Capital.”
Benjamin laughed, full of himself.
Nathan wasn’t about to let it slide. “Isn’t Benjamin getting a bit cocky? I heard you’ve got a half–brother who’s a natural in business. Aren’t you worried he might swoop in and surprise you?”
Benjamin was caught off guard by the familiar voice, momentarily thinking it sounded like Nathan. But then shrugged it off, figuring this guy couldn’t be taller, more composed, or more refined than Nathan.
He chuckled, “Haha, Sir, maybe you don’t know my family well. My half–brother, apart from the family name, didn’t inherit much–neither assets nor smarts.”
Nathan drawled, “Oh, really?”
Then, ever so slowly, Nathan took off his sunglasses, revealing a face that could stop traffic. Time had certainly been kind to Nathan. In just two years, he’d been polished into a gem, rich and full of character.
