Who would’ve thought Regan would switch gears like that: “Nathan, since we’re all together today, why not set a wedding date for you and Ashley? What do you say?” The moment those words were out, friends and family from both the Rowland and Stewart clans chimed in with their enthusiastic support.
“Oh, absolutely! Nathan and Ashley are just perfect for each other, like a match made in heaven,” Andrew chimed in warmly.
“My daughter has been head over heels for Nathan since day one, just waiting for this moment,” Dustin added, grinning from ear to ear.
Nathan, casually fiddling with his nails, shot back with a cool stare: “My wedding to Ashley? Who decided that? And why am I the last to know?”
The room fell into an awkward silence.
Everyone exchanged uneasy glances,
Mason jumped in to smooth things over: “Nathan, Regan and I arranged your marriage to Ashley. We even consulted an expert who said you two are a perfect match.”
Ashley stood blushing nearby. “Nathan, I like you,” she said shyly.
Nathan responded sharply, “I don’t agree to this marriage.”
Faces all around turned sour.
“Nathan, today is Ashley’s birthday. Do you really want to humiliate her like this? Where’s your sense of chivalry?” Andrew scolded him harshly.
Nathan’s eyes suddenly flashed with a fierce intensity. He wasn’t someone to be messed around with.
“Trying to guilt–trip me into this?”
“Marriage is a lifetime deal. You guys decided this behind my back without even asking me. Are we running a dictatorship here in the Rowland family?”
Regan shot Mason a disapproving look: “Gavin, didn’t you talk this over with Nathan?”
Mason’s face turned a shade of crimson and white.
“No need for a discussion. He’s part of the Rowland family, so he has to do what I say,” Mason snapped.

The room buzzed with shock.
Some couldn’t help but whisper among themselves:

Theo turned to Regan: “Regan, on behalf of my grandson, I apologize to you and Ashley. He’s still young; it’s too early for marriage talks.”
Rogan, seeing Theo offering him a graceful exit, quickly agreed, “Yes, yes, Theo’s right. They’re still young; no rush for an engagement.”
