Chapter 19
Damien’s POV
We should now elope to our honeymoon before these paparazzi devour us. I leaned down and whispered into her ears, causing her eyes to open wider, looking at me.
But I guess she wasn’t expecting the next thing I did. I instantly bent and lifted her up into my arms in a smooth bridal style.
“Damien!” She gasped, her arms instinctively wrapped around my neck to ensure that she wouldn’t fall.
“I won’t let you go, wifey, I grinned at her. “So, don’t worry, just hang on tigin,” I added and turned around to take the emergency exit of the hall which was behind the pulpit the officiator used.
“You are enjoying this so much, ain’t you?” She said to me, glaring and fuming.
“And it seems you’re loving it as well!” I teased, knowing fully well that I couldn’t tell what Irene said or believe what she said. about her feelings for me.
“Loving what?” She whisper–yelled, not wanting people to catch a whiff of what we were saying
As I reached the emergency exit door, I looked back briefly and saw my personal assistant, Steven, handling the paparazzi the way we had planned
They wanted a scoop. And a scoop they shall get. The only thing they wouldn’t get was any information about Eva’s whereabouts because I had taken care of that aspect.
I also made sure she watched the wedding live. So, she can see the consequences of her shameful actions.
Feeling satisfied that everything was going according to plan, I pushed open the door with Irene still in my arms and headed
out of the venue.
“I can walk, Irene whined, wiggling in my arms so I could drop her.
“Keep doing that and see where it leads us tonight, my dear wife I said to her, and even as she glared at me, she stopped wiggling.
She couldn’t take chances with my threats.
“Good girl.” I teased more, chuckling. But she stayed quiet and still,
Sighting the dark Lamborghini Steven had prepared for our getaway, I brought out the key from my pocket and gently dropped Irene to stand.
“Get in.” I said to her once I unlocked the car.
“Where are we going?” She asked hesitancy etched on her features.
“Somewhere safe and private for the latest couple in the city,” I replied and guided her inside to sit.
Once she sat down, I shut the door rushed to the other side, and got in.
Roaring the engine to life, the low vibration and overall feeling made her moan out loud.
“Okay, this feels good.” She rested her head back with her eyes closed. And I couldn’t help but gulp down the saliva that had secreted in my mouth.
Irene was tugging at my self–control. And I didn’t know how long that could last.

Chapter 19
“Don’t do that,” I told her and zoomed off before she could say anything,
Silence overtook the a air, and it made me feel somehow. I didn’t want us to feel like strangers, I didn’t want her to keep distancing herself from me.

I wanted her to slowly start letting her guard down around start getting comfortable with me because I had a goal..
My plan was to make Irene fall in love with me again. So, I could show her that, I could love her more than she had ever wanted.
But it all starts with redemption- with her forgiving me.
So, I decided to put the radio on, to diffuse the atmosphere into something refreshing and light, unlike the heavy and thick atmosphere.
“Can’t you let it be quiet for a while? There’s been so much noise around us lately. I just wanna watch the city fly by in silence,” she expressed.
And I understood. But I didn’t want silence.
Silence meant a barrier would be created between us. One that I didn’t even want in the slightest.
However, I needed her to start liking me, so I decided it was best I did as requested.
“Okay” I said and turned off the radio..
“Thank you,” She said and looked through the tinted window, watching the busy evening of a vibrant city fly back. “Should I roll down the window?” I asked, admiring her side profile. I have yet to study those beautiful features of hers. “Yes, I’d love that.” She answered, flashing a grateful smile at me that melted my already swooning heart.
“My pleasure,” I mumbled, taking my eyes away from her and focused back on the road. I couldn’t let myself get distracted and make us have an accident.
She was too mesmerizing, and this moment felt like a dream come true when she was still dressed in her wedding dress. Why was I so blind before to see just how amazing Irene is?
I was such a big fool.
Soon, we arrived at my right time wasn’t then.
The right time was now.

“We’re here,” I announced as I parked the car in the small driveway. The area was secluded since most house owners here were billionaires who were rarely home.
“And where is here, Damien?” Irene asked as she stared hard at the house.
“Our house, Irene. Our house as a married couple,” I replied to her and she turned to face me
“What do you mean by that? I thought this marriage was for show and would only last until everything was stable?” She questioned, and it would be a lie to say I wasn’t expecting that question. So I was prepared for her.
“Yes, Irene. But we still need to make it all seem real. And this house is secluded and doesn’t allow paparazzi. So let’s do this yeah? Let me protect you and Charlie,” I said to her in a calm tone.

Chapter 19
She took a few seconds before nodding slowly to my words as if he were contemplating the idea of living together again. And, also weighing her options.
“Okay. Let’s do this, Mr. Chad,” She said and I beamed at her, happy that she agreed.
But as we a
got out of the car, the next words that came out of her made me weirdly blush
“But no funny business” She wagged her fingers at me.
Fuck. I wasn’t the woman. But, why does her warning thrill me so much to the point of blushing?
