Chapter 104
“Shut up!” Clarence shouted, his voice a bit hoarse.
Sharon was shocked. Clarence had never spoken to her in such a harsh tone, which showed how upset he was at that moment. She thought, The worse Clarence feels, the more it shows how much he cares about Seraphina. Since he cares about her, why must they separate?
“Mr. Vanderbilt… Sharon wanted to comfort him.
“I said, shut up!” Clarence raised his voice slightly.
Sharon thought. They are both proud people. Neither would listen to any persuasion at this time. So, Sharon gave up and simply said. “It’s raining. I’m going to bring an umbrella to Ms. Johnson.”
Clarence didn’t say anything.
Sharon turned and went downstairs, grabbed an umbrella, and rushed out. However, as she jogged along the small path to the villa area’s gate, she did not see Seraphina. She wondered, “Where could she possibly go at such a late hour in the pouring rain?”
Just as Seraphina got into a taxi at the gate, Sharon appeared. They missed each other. It was not easy to catch a taxi there. but coincidentally, someone had just gotten out, so Seraphina managed to get in.
Seraphina looked back at the magnificent villa cluster, tears streaming down her face. Five years ago, when she left, she never imagined she would return here after five years. Now, she knew she would never come back again.
“Clarence, farewell!” In the stormy midnight, Seraphina leaned against the rain–soaked car window, crying uncontrollably.
With nowhere else to go, Seraphina knocked on Barbara’s door
When the sleepy–eyed Barbara saw Seraphina standing at her doorstep at this hour, she was stunned.
While getting out of the car, Seraphina had gotten wet, and she felt damp all over.
Barbara noticed the suitcase and pulled Seraphina inside, saying. Take a shower first. I’ll get you some pajamas.” Barbara didn’t ask any questions and simply took the suitcase from Seraphina’s hands.
They had grown up together, so many things didn’t need to be questioned
“Okay” Seraphina managed a faint smile and walked toward the bathroom.
After closing the door, Barbara took a deep breath and tightly gripped the suitcase handle. She exhaled several times before suppressing her tears, thinking, ‘It’s the middle of the night, and you drove Seraphina away with her suitcase. You really are a bastard!
After Seraphina took a shower, Barbara brought her the pajamas Once Seraphina dried her hair, she entered the bedroom. Barbara was sitting cross–legged on the bed, waiting for Seraphi
Seraphina sat down at the edge of the bed, and Barbara hugged her tightly, and her voice choked. “Baby…”
“Don’t be sad for me, Seraphina said calmly. “I still have you, don’t I?
Barbara nodded. Don’t worry, you will always have me.”

Chapter 104
Barbara’s parents were working out of town, leaving her home alone. At this moment, Barbara’s house happened to become Seraphina’s safe haven. She stayed at Barbara’s for a few days to adjust her mood, and since she didn’t have any filming scenes during these days, Seraphina planned to fly to Kingsland to watch Thomas‘ game.
Once on the plane, Seraphina sent a message to Thomas: [I’m on board.]
Thomas replied: I’ll pick you up at the airport.]

At this moment, the flight attendant reminded passengers of the safety instructions. “Sir, please stow your tray table. Thank you. Seraphina thought this gentle voice sounded familiar. Looking over, she indeed saw a familiar face.
Lucia wore her uniform and smiled warmly as she talked to the passengers.
“Lucia. Seraphina greeted her.
Lucia turned around, surprised to see Seraphina. “Sera, it’s you! Are you going to Kingsland?”
Seraphina nodded. “I really didn’t expect to be on your airline.”
Lucia chuckled. ‘I’m filling in for someone today. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have run into you. What are you going to Kingsland for? Vacation!”
Seraphina hesitated before saying, “I’m going to watch Tommy’s game.”
Seraphina feared that mentioning Thomas‘ name would upset Lucia, but she didn’t want to lie. Sure enough. Lucia’s smile faded slightly. “I have to get busy now. Let’s talk after the flight. I be staying in Kingsland for a day.”
“Okay. Seraphina replied.
Lucia went to offer cabin service. And during the flight, Seraphina and Lucia didn’t talk much. After the airplane landed at Kingsland Airport, Lucia walked over to Seraphina and asked, “Which hotel are you staying at?”

“Then never mind, let’s meet at the hotel. Lucia refused quite straightforwardly.
Seraphina could only nod. She understood the tension between those two very well.
At the training base, the field was as green as a carpet, and the players were training hard. Thomas took a day off to pick up Seraphina Dressed casually, Thomas looked very handsome.
The coach tossed the car keys to Thomas. “Be careful.”

Behind a large tree, a woman dressed in casual wear, sporting a baseball cap and sunglasses, looked like a secret agent as she peered through binoculars at the entrance of the base. Upon seeing Thomas come out, the woman immediately took out her phone and made a video call to a contact named “Hubby“.
