Chapter 32
Clarence’s eyes were sharp, full of intensity, and yet his gaze carried a sincerity that made Seraphina momentarily dazed.
Do you have a girlfriend?” she asked softly, almost absentmindedly, Clarence’s expression shifted, ever so slightly.
Tm not trying to claim that title.” Seraphina quickly explained. I know my place. It’s just that…even if I can’t escape being your lover, I want to at least be the one you’re open about. I do want to be the other woman.”
“I don’t” Clarence cut her off before she could finish, his tone firm and decisive. He understood exactly what she meant.
“Thank you” Seraphina smiled faintly, a smile that was beautiful yet carried a hint of sadness, something fragile. “When the day comes that you do have a real girlfriend, promise me you’ll let me go…
Clarence didn’t answer. Instead, he leaned down and silenced her with a kiss.
Clarence then took Seraphina back into the villa. Outside the window, the night was dark and heavy, like a giant beast swallowing the entire villa, making the air inside feel stifling.

Seraphina lay in the bathtub, reluctant to get out, even though the water had grown cold. Beyond the bathroom door Clarence’s master bedroom, and he was waiting for her.
She had become a long–forgotten delicacy, a treat he had finally come to enjoy after five long years.
Why did I agree to go back to him?” Seraphina wondered. Was it really just because of his threat?‘
Seraphina leaned her head back slightly, a soft sigh of resignation escaping her lips. Above her, the crystal chandelier sparkled, its light dizzying and entrancing.

Seraphina immediately sat back down in the water, her face turning crimson. You…you didn’t knock.”
Clarence, however, recovered instantly, his composure as smooth as ever. With the towel in hand, he strode gracefully toward her. Seraphina watched him warily, instinctively wrapping her arms around her shoulders to shield herself.
That gesture made Clarence flash a low smirk. There was a teasing glint in his eyes as he spoke, his tone dripping with mockery. “You washed up just for me to enjoy, didn’t you? Playing hard to get now, huh?”
Her blush deepened to a fiery red as she pouted, glaring at him with a mix of embarrassment and frustration. She looked so adorably flustered that it was impossible not to find her endearing-
The water lapped at her neck, rising and falling, revealing her elegant collarbones. Her graceful and long neck caught Clarence’s attention. He couldn’t help but cup her head and learn to plant a soft kiss on her neck, sucking just enough to leave a mark.
Seraphina let out a soft gasp, quickly pushing him away and pouding, “What are you doing? Trying to leave a hickey here?” Clarence’s eyes instantly darkened, and his tone turned cold. “You seem to know a lot. Who’s given you one before?”
Is he serious? Seraphina thought, rolling her eyes internally. “This guy is way too sensitive
